A stall is a condition where the airflow traveling over the wings is not sufficient enough to keep the airplane in the air; or the airflow has early separation from the wing. This can be caused by thin air, low airspeed, or a high angle of attack. When the airplane stalls, it literally begins to fall out of the sky!
