this is on the feast of st mary 15 august of each year you can see haw much you want like these and much more fore the whole week before but not only any one who comes to malta between june and sept can see our fireworks there's an event every week
what date is this festival in 2012? me and my mom want to go there on holiday and i want to make sure i got the time right haha :P if some1 could just give me a mail on here please:) thx already
hey! those were some nice baraq shells! if you want, you should let some of the shell builders come to the PGI (pyrotechnic guild international). They have shell compotitions. You can learn more about it at PGI(dot)org.
Nice vid Mate!! :) Another vid with Maltese night beraq is: watch?v=OzA6X9rAdYE) but not with good quality as yours... This is simply amazing! Malta fireworks are PASSION and DEDICATION. We can do fireworks that no one in the world does and we must be proud of this unique astistic tradition!
@FireCrack83 Well, the best time to come is the first 2 weeks of August were on the 5th & 6th you have Transfiguration of Our Saviour feast of Lija, which produce one of the best fireworks in Malta, and of course on the 14th & 15th you have the Feast of St. Mary, which is celebrated in 7 different localities in Malta including Ghaxaq, Mqabba (Best in Malta) & Qrendi ! Best you come to Mqabba to see the best quality fireworks, but the otherones aren't less beautiful and competitive ! :P
For sure they are clorate. The fireworks builders in malta are known for pushing the limit with sensitive mixtures, even adding sulfur and antimony to their clorate flashes.
woooooooooooooooooooooow, loving it all, what i reaaly like are the screamer rockets with the lampare headers, that just fits amazinly well for some reason. and ofcoarse the beraq shells are awesome, and the pattern in the colore ones and and... O_O
@DNBCore im glad you like these type of fireworks :) these normally are 8" and 10" with a few firework factories doing a few of 12". in this video the first few are of 10" and then go down to 8" and 6". these fireworks are all made by hand from start to finish, being its the rolling of paper to form the shells, mixtures, placing the beraq ect...:)
@DNBCore maltese shells are not for sale for varios reasons, manly being that these are not made for a living but as a hobby and they are done for their own village feast. also one needs to be licensed to make and burn fireworks in malta an a permit by the police to burn them.
hope this info helped you and hope to see you in malta one day to enjoy these beautiful fireworks, unique in the whole world! :)
a festival like this is held every week in Malta & Gozo from the end of May till the beginning of September, at different villages. Sometimes there will be more than 5 displays at a time.
my goood so beautiful and sound is fantastic,
thanks man
