  • For those saying this show is a waste of time, i have to tell you this is as good as it gets. It shows that there isn't anything that hasn't a rational explanation. If DB didnt explain how he did this trick, you would feel like he had some kind of extraordinary power, after all, how would he simply guess 6 times in a row what horse would win?

But most of all, it shows that there is no such thing as a system, so that people can stop believing crap once and for all.

  • The system doesn't explain how derren predicted the horse on the sixth week though!!

  • @mickycheese27 luck explains that :)

  • @mickycheese27 He didn't.

He put the amount of money the woman gave him on every horse, had all the tickets on him, and used some basic sleight of hand to not show the others when he pulled out the winning ticket.

  • Jeez there's a lot of math in this episode. Derren should just hypnotize the other horses into taking a dive

  • @TheButtonNose I calculated it, it would have cost them £16,650 to pay off all the guys that didn't win, channel 4 can easily afford that i guess

  • I wonder how much he had to pay off to the other guys that didnt win the bets. I guess the system works in negative income :D

  • sort of loses the point when you only can make someone else win... after all someone else will win anyway.

  • @Devoti Brown's system is a metaphor for the idea on homeopathic and alternative medicine. It use is overall useless but there will always be that 1 person that find it working thus making rumor or word of mouth about the product or idea.

  • does that mean when he brought 4 people to pick up random pictures of people with numbers in the back of the ticket that he ACTUALLY brought 36000 billion experts until he got the right arrangement?

  • @MAFiA303

nah that one he influenced with his mind tricks.

  • so. he bet 4000 pounds on each horse, and exchanged her ticket with the winning one?

  • @ilikemusicverymuch

    probably

  • @ilikemusicverymuch just pocket change, pretty sure Derren is a multi-millionaire

  • Darren is a sweetheart- it's obvious he switched her ticket when she wasn't looking. He must have just picked the neediest person out of the final group of people, told her to bet all her money and then matched it with each horse and let her keep the winnings for the winning one

  • Loled at 42:00

"I will faint here... and then i will cry... until I die"

    Darren: ..... :/ shit.

  • Derren is quite mean...

  • @will13911 Yea totally he pretty much just gave her 13 grand... What a dick..

  • 35:04 His father was a mudder... his mother was a mudder!!

  • This shows EXACTLY how creationist fall for the lie of religion. "God of the Gaps" lol. OWNED.

  • @BlameRepublicans

I don't understand what link you see with GOTG. Can you ellaberate? thx

  • Sure - the GOTGs is all about perspective. Clergy are like Derren. They make it appear as though they have ALL the answers, when in reality they speak in generalities, rely on deception, and blame the follower when "god" fails to come through for them.

  • @BlameRepublicans

The link with religion is obvious and that's what your giving me right now. You're however not giving me any link with GOTG.

  • Well God of the gaps is a type of theological fallacy in which gaps in scientific knowledge are taken to be evidence or proof of God's existence. Gaps in the knowledge of the people placing the bets (the knowledge that Derren was betting on ALL HORSES and thus could not fail to pick a winner) were filled with a belief that he had a “system” upon which they could rely to pick the single winning horse at every race.

  • @BlameRepublicans

Sorry but your logic is flawwed. I am not religious and am very aware of what gotg is, but this is not an exemple of gotg. Gotg isn't just about gaps in knowledge, it's about KNOWING there are gaps (these people don't realize that) and then stating they can't be filled because it's 'god' (what these people don't do). Bad exemple, but nice day further.

  • I disagree with your assesment.

  • @BlameRepublicans I like your thinking, but easy on republicans we now have Ron Paul : )

  • I learned to throw it on the ground.

  • Haha man, to all the haters... DB is not a trickster, hes a mathematical prodigy. As he said, what a man know's is only what he sees, hears and believes.

This show is called The System for a reason (:

Do you guys really think winning 5 x in a row is that difficult? This is just the 6th win in a row... and its on a race with 4 x horses... True that the odds are HUGE... Doesn't mean its impossible.

For those who don't understand, The System is much bigger then 7xxx that he mentioned.. (:

  • Don't believe what you see. Your own view is always limited. ... that's the message.

Must have been hell throwing ten heads in a row... how many times did it fail after 8 or 9 good ones?

  • this system is fucked up.

  • And I love their faces at the final race - he's so absolutely calm and she's absolutely freaked out :)

  • Well, it's obvious that Darren is fake; he himself says that is just an illusionist, not a magician, so no wonder that he doesn't make any miracles, just good illusions. If he didn't explain this trick, you would be amazed.

  • 4000 p aint shit to derren wtf, hes capable of better entertainment than this!

  • @ Sebastian6736

I have seen quite some DB performances. With preparation everybody can do it, I'm sure. Sorry, I'm just not that easily impressed. In fact, I really find him very disappointing nowadays, like I said: predictable. This Horse racing and flipping coin thing, I saw it through from the beginning. How hard can it be?

  • Comment removed

  • Derren Brown himself is SO very predictable, he risks nothing with this. This is just a mathematical sum, and anybody can come up with this one. When I was watching this, I immediately thought: well, how many people is he playing with this time (surely not one!) and how many times did he flip that coin to get it right, ten times in a row? Long long ago, there was a time that Derren Brown was surprising, but he isn't anymore. He risks nothing and hasn't for years. He just floats in his old glory

  • @DHRSoulTravel Have you seen the Enigma show? Or The Events? They were quite astonishing. I believe he exceeds himself every time.

  • @DHRSoulTravel I agree, this was one of his weakest shows and on average they're not as good as the older stuff. I think he knew that which is why he chose to reveal the method.

In fact you can see the shift in his show approaches over time. Nowadays he recreates "famous" stuff, either debunking or letting it stand based on the genre. Understandably it's hard to keep inventing, but none of it stands up to the old "walk up to a guy and ask for his wallet".

  • @DHRSoulTravel That's his point. Even though this appeared to be a "sure thing" he was really doing nothing out of the ordinary.

  • she was so annoying

  • yeah he needed the feel good ending, channel 4 is a multi million pound channel, he put 4 grand on 5 horses, 20 grand is nothing to them, the overall profit is still huge and they still have their dignity. This was crap, and his initial start where he convinced the officials were his old party tricks. I normally love his work, bit of a crock tho derren :/

  • Not a waste of time. Sure he showed the probability of the show.. but how did they choose the people and predict the exact order along with the probability of it happening divided up between 4 pictures in the exact order!

  • Waste of time. Other than the feel good ending.

  • This was stupid, take a fucking probability course, waste of my fucking time

  • @hauntmeinharmony I think probability should be mandatory for every citizens...Indeed, this was a waste of time.

  • Wow, what a ride this show has been. I need a cig now. Haha. Fantastic show Derren.

  • He placed a bet for every horse for 4 grand a piece.

  • @sillylittletroy I agree.

  • @sillylittletroy makes sense

  • @sillylittletroy Yeah, probably... That's what I thought too, however, how did he do the thing with the four experts?? holy shit... unless the whole thing was staged, obviously

  • The 5th race only had 4 horses in it.

  • Derren could just make the bookie pay a non winning ticket like he did at the dog tracks.

  • @biologyprodigy that was my immediate reaction too!

He could also have just given her a piece of paper (instead of the money) :)

  • Gotta say Derren is super-talented and has amazing abilties, but sometimes he can be such a DICK!!!!!

  • Really awesome! Thank you for posting this!

  • Besides snooker, Derren has been the best thing on tv for the last ten years, He's a clever boy!

  • I still don't see how he did the one with all the experts. He did the same trick on the Enigma show too, and there's no way he could do it a billion times. Can anyone explain?

  • @lilleboff Simple. As David Tennant said, derren's a witch. ;) jk.

  • Thanks for sharing it as a full episode!!

  • a big thx for sharing entire episodes <3

  • Thanks a lot for the upload!
