Actually CGI was really expensive so they could only have 7 bots max per faction in BW. Which means that to add new cast. They had to kill off old cast members.

You can still find the figures for sale on Ebay from time to time.

Glad to get to see some of the Japanese only Beast Wars series. Here's hoping some comapny will put the Japanese only series from Heamasters-Beast Wars Neo on dvds for us in the US to go along with the sets of our series.

Er, actually, you're wrong here. When Beast Wars was brought to Japan they actually made it alot more goofy and childish, REMOVING most of the serious aspects. Plus look at CarRobot/RID and the last three series. Transformers is usually aimed at a younger age group in Japan than it is in America, so it's usually LESS serious. But some of the Japanese G1 series (Along with Galaxy Force) could be serious at times, I suppose.

@LEW2X Transformers is aimed at kids regardless, and Mainframe did include moments of humour in Beast Wars, hence why the Japanese went with it. Each series does have it's moments of seriousness. Though i wouldn't say that RID or the Unicron Trilogy as being all goofy. Optimus Prime was thought to be dead in the middle of Micron Legend (Armada) but as we all know Prime just keeps coming back. I haven't seen much of Energon (Super Link) apart from one episode, it mostily looked serious to me.
