  • Thanks for the file, I'm really beginning to enjoy maths

  • I've picked maths for A level, i'm interested in buying your Dvd's when i start 6th form. How difficult would you say A level maths is being a teacher and all... and not to mention, a great one :P

  • @hatatske As they say, a 64000 dollar question. All exams are difficult for some and easy, or easier for others. I suppose the best guide would be your GCSE grade result and your motivation to work. If A/B in both areas then it should be achievable..... but will only be easy for a very few. Sorry but only a general answer to your question is possible. Do visit wwwDOTmathstutorDOTbiz for details of the dvds.

  • @mathstutorbiz Thanks for the reply (: i enjoy maths and found it easy at gcse, but I've heard A level is much more complex, but then again that makes it much more interesting. Thanks again.

  • Thanks to him, I was able to pass my IGCSE maths exam when i was the age of 10.

    Thanks Mathstuter!!!

  • You accent is cool!

But, whenever I view your videos, I get an inexplicable urge to stir up a cup of tea and sit down with some rhubarb pie. . . .

    I don't get it!

  • @Sigolet And why not. Cup of tea and rhubarb pie sounds loverly. mathstutor

  • A cyclist and his bicycle together has a mass of 100kg. Riding along a certain raod he observes that when he is at free wheeling down a slope of 1 in 40 his speed when it becomes uniform is 32km/hr and 48km/hr when he is free wheeling down a slope of 1 in 20. if the air resistant remains constant find the rate at which he must cycle to maintain a speed of 24km/hr.

can anyone solve this question for me?

i have been trying to solve in for long but i can.

  • its easy.......

  • @marenamusa what paper is this and where ( country) is this exam.

  • you a far better teacher than the useless cow in my school you might actually effect peoples lives by helping them achieve higher math grades

  • F dash of X is better known as F prime of X I believe :p

  • nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd

  • villaaaaaage idiiiiiiiiiiot

  • this was to razorbacktob but these replies never go where they should. :(

  • Lol, yeah I agree, I did get an A, but I'm in a grime band, so it evens out :p

  • Doesn't really matter though :) I am at uni doing physics and took a freestanding calculus module and most people call it f-dashed of x.

  • mathstutorbiz... well explained. I wish you were my teacher because:

1.) my calculus 2 teacher is a an angry russian guy that also speaks fluent spanish.

2.) you have a cool accent.

  • cool accent, I like that, thank you.

    mathstutor

  • I love it, naught and gradient instead of zero and slope. Sounds like he's saying rite of change rather than rate of change. Well explained though.

  • I dont speak math can you speak English please. LOL just kidding good job.

  • I know how to differentiate ( the calculation - moving one power down etc.), but I still dont know what differntiation is about. The rate of change of what? The gradient? How does that represent the rate of change of the gradient of the different tangents? Can you please explain more in detail plz.

  • On youtube I have put free video clips to help and to showcase my product, maths via video.

What you need are the available complete DVD's. Please visit my web site mathstutorDOTbiz and study the full contents of what is available and see what suits your reqirements. Hope to hear from you.

  • @lamfsc The derivative describes the slope of the graph at any given point. Just like in early algebra we calculate the slope of a line, which is the constant m in y = mx + b. However, on a graph such as x^2 the slope is not constant, it is constantly changing. The derivative of x^2, which is 2x, describes the rate at which the slope of the graph is changing.

  • I had a test Tues and thought I was doomed. My professor SUX. He talks to himself and doesn't answer questions. The book is HORRIBLE with explanations. I checked my grade online today and I PASSED thanks to these videos! I'm hoping this works all semester! THANKS MATHSTUTOR!

  • hey are you sure this is A level?and sorry do you have a video on differential equation. thanks

  • I hate thz fucking mthz cause iz makez me crazy, I was suding and I was hating it, but now I surprice some student those we live somevillage likez such mthz like thz.

now I'm student of Nairobi University Of Kenya

  • fuck me that was awesome.

  • I envy your handwriting.

  • this would be the same as 1 divided by zero.... infinity!

    mathstutor

  • Could you please tell me what 0^-1 is?

  • you do this at year 12/13 at school right?

  • year 12 in most cases.

    mathstutor

  • tHANKs for that......because i have an Exam do day thnks for that ....dats help a little bit

  • I wish my handwriting was as good as yours.

  • well thank you for that,

    mathstutor

  • what does "f dash" mean? he meant "f prime."

  • f is the given fuction, f dash is the given function differenciated. ok?

    mathstutor

  • Then f dash dash is the acceleration of the function. And f undash is the Anti derivative of that function, right?

  • right.

    mathstutor

  • AP calculus rocks i love it,

  • easy shit i really loved that course :D

  • Hello

the question right at the end - f(x)square rootX

well I know the answer, but I do not know how to work it out!! Could you please please help me by explaining?

  • Ah well, that can be found on the complete video on DVD available from mathstutorDOTbiz

  • Square Root x = x ^ (1/2)

  • you have to wr-write it, sqrtx is the same as x^1/2 then you differntiate it.

  • Hello nuclearnanoman

thankyou so much for posting a reply, but uhhhhh, i dont understand what you are trying to say. Do you mind explaining? It would be great if you would leave a comment on my channel. This would be really helpful. A level maths - hardest a level there is (what was i thinking? and im doing distance learning...)

    Many thanx

    ChoklatMunchies

  • i am 14 and i got a B on the "decision AS maths" - well chuffed.

  • well done.

    mathstutor

  • The guy in the video can barely contain his excitement eh?

  • wow, and i thought diffrentiaton was difficult, its really easy the way u explained it thanx soooo much

by the way, how come it does not finish the vidioe off ?

  • This video clip, as with all my video clips on youtube, is just part of a DVD available from my web site mathstutorDOTbiz. please visit the site and check out the complete DVD's

    mathstutor

  • this is too easy :)

  • well thank you.... I do try to make so it is understood!

    mathstutor

  • ah, sorry lol, i just re saw your video and i understood it, terribly sory for the problem it was the first time i saw how to do diffrentiation so i was remembering normal indices and forgot its diffrentiation, sorry :)

  • No problem. All sorted now. I'll go back and watch the snooker on the telly. Good luck in your studies.

    mathstutor

  • yes thats what i was saying but im saying that should of been done according to whatu said at 5:22 right ? im probably wrong sir as you are really exprineced lol, but im having some confusion here sorry, but seriously im finding diffrentiation easy now im doin A levels early im supposed to be in year 11 i done my maths GCSE in year , A*

  • ismi

you have to multiply the 10 by the 0. 10x0=0.

    ok

  • I deal with this earlier in the complete video available on DVD from mathstutorDOT biz

  • Ok, at 5:20 ish when u do 10x to the power of 0 so like 10x0 why isnt it 10 ? x to the power of 0 is 1 so 10 x 1 shoud be 10 ?

  • I think you have missed the point. Have another watch and listen. Any value "to the power 0" = one. So x"to the pwer 0" = one. So 10x"to the power 0" = 10 x 1 = 10. Round the other way, 10 = 10x"to the power 0"....

    does this help?

    mathstutor

  • Im just dong some past papers... I love maths :D cant wait for my exam tomorrow :P lol!

  • mine was last week

  • as exam on wednesday yaaaaaay

  • better to learn stuff like this. the teachers at school make it a burden.

  • Mathstutor = genius =).

took my teacher about 2 hours to teach this, and i still didnt learn it =/.

  • Thank for the kind words,

    mathstutor

  • Thanks mathstutor ive got my AS Pure Core 1 exam on 9/1/08 and your videos are helping me revise over the christmas break. Keep up the good work.

  • good luck in your exam.

    mathstutor

  • thank you very very much. I asked my teacher what happened to the numbers at the end and she said they just diappear. I said why and she said its a straight line, I could not understand it. This video explains it very well and i now understand it so thank you!!

  • y do u always say appreciate

  • What was the best answer you were hoping for when you asked this question...? idiot

  • AS and A level maths is equivalent to yr 10 maths in australia. Is that right?

  • Sorry I have no idea of the level of mathematics teaching in Australia. However if this is true we in UK are lagging behind! In the UK Yr10 & 11 sit the GCSE. Year 12 sit AS & Year 13 sit A Level. I would point out that these are the opening of the video lessons I have done. The AS A Level clips on you tube are from part one of five parts.... all are at AS level. The purely A level material is yet to me made. Visit mathstuorDOTbiz for details of available DVD's. mathstutor

  • tyvm for that and if anyone thinks this guy is a "freak" i hope you fail and turn into a dropout with no money or math knowledge... have a good day.

  • thank you

  • thanks it all makes sense now

  • pleased to have helped.

have you visited my web site mathstutorDOTbiz for details of the complete lesson/revision DVD's?

    Good luck in your studies.

    mathstutor

  • Your just pathetic, this guys videos really do help people out. I'd like to hear how you talk, my guess is that your lashing out over your own insecurities.

Good work mathstutor! Its a shame you get immature people like this on youtube.

  • You fucking moron. That's one of the dumbest damn things to say to someone who is helping your slow. If you were in my class and said something like that with the professor I have now, you would be beat to a pulp. Either take the help and shut the fuck up or pick a different video.

  • thank you
