What an amazing song, one of my absolute favorites, just spectacular, and the emotion of seeing this live omfg, but I just wish they would've shown Kjarri more, he goes wild in the climax part and it's awesome to see him :/
Majestic is a word I often associate with Sigur Rós. 4:16 is where it all kicks off for me... the sound washes over you like an aural tsunami. Truly awesome.
couldnt agree more, this song absolutely blew my mind to pieces and put back together in a much more appreciative way for music and beautiful art like this.
I agree the beauty of their music is that it can mean what you want it to. I have listened to this as I sat watching an incoming lightning storm in Saigon, another time looking down from an aeroplane, and countless other times. Each time it contributes something to the senses and emotions of the moment and makes it feel 'real'.
This song is majestic in every sense of the word. Power and so deep with emotion. It hits the core of the soul and raveshes us with it's raw but utter beauty!!!
If you've ever been to any SR concert, you will notice that--it's Jonssi's trademark almost. For some reason he gets a bit annoyed in most concerts, probably he's just a perfectionist. In the end, this group always comes through with an outstanding performance.
True story. If looks could kill...there would be a few less soundmen on the face of this planet. The man never seems to be pleased with the sound in the beginning. But in the end....goosebumps.
this song is so spectacular. when they lift the camera above the concert and u can see the land it's amazing. for a split second i could almost grasp how small we are on this earth and yet how powerful we can be ... does anyone know when they are going on tour again? i'd love to hear this live!
Takk was the first Sigur Ros album I've ever heard and this song stood out from the rest. It blew me away. To think that I thought the lead singer was a girl this whole time until seeing this video. wow.
Jonssi (the lead singer doing the falsetto) is one of the nicest people you may ever meet. I meet him in Tokyo last spring, and because I sneaked into a restricted area I got to meet the band in person. Jonssi was very friendly, albeit very quiet, with his Scottish Sherlock Holms hat on.
One of the many things about this group I really like is how deeply these guys take their work. They are the kindest people (I got to meet them and Amiina for 2 days last year), but when they play, they are serious. I think Jonssi in particular is very hard on himself to provide the best performance possible. He sometimes gets upset, tries to hide it, but he (and the whole group) always manage to make it through with a great performance.
This was the first Sigur Ros's song that impress me in a incredible way, when I heard Takk. Then I start to listen to the other albums, and I discover that this is one of the best band I ever heard in my life. Simply awesome, wonderful, beautiful and excellent. Words are not enough to describe them.
This made me cry... Thats all i can say

what is he saying somebody please tell me
sunshineemo1 3 years ago
you don't need to know what he is saying,
that's what sigur ros is all about,
they just write beautiful music,
no real meaning,
its just based on feelings and emotions,
it can mean anything you want it too

Jonsi seemed pretty mad at the sound guy - guess he didn't like the levels on his monitors. Still sounded damn great, though !!!
