I have been so blessed by God through Keith's Music. I was never charged for anything his ministry sent me.

How different was Keith's ministry compared to so many "ministries" of today! A great lesson to those so called "faith movement" "prophets".

They had the little booklet "Last Days".. it had a little order page you could send in for albums. You could send what you could afford.. or if you couldnt they would still send you one. Thats how I get my first one.

I think we are missing the point.Look at Keith's life. He wanted to be a 'star'. We gave in and said "Lord whatever You want, that's what I want too". When he accepted WHATEVER God had planned, he obtained fame beyond his wildest dreams. He refused to charge for the Gospel...God took care of his finacial needs. He had FAITH. God rewarded that faith. I admire his courage and his belief that He (God) really will take care of the rest.

Paul was establishing the gospel. We only spread the gospel. Whatever Paul's situation was as a founding apostle, ours is different. We embrace a tension we cannot understand between 'secular and spiritual' if we use Paul to justify our ministry in every aspect. Business is not wrong and ministry for pay is a practical necessity.

A REAL christian couple with conviction, i know kieth is up there now, singing and praising god along with the angels and we will ALL be going home this year to sing with them to,i cant wait to get to heaven ........ PRAISE JESUS :-)

I admire Keith for not charging for the gospel, i.e., his albums. The Bible says that we should buy the truth and sell it not. It also says, freely you have received, freely give. Apparantly Melody doesn't share this conviction, as his CDs are being sold today.

Wow....you are harsh. He left a widow and two children. The Bible commands Christians to care for widows and orphans. Don't buy his album's if you don't want too, but don't knock his widow for selling them. It's not like she doesn't have a ministry to run and children to support.

I'm not offended in the least by God's word but as a former minister's daughter, it's nice to see that the "Church" is still full of judgmental "gimme Christians." If you truly believe that Melody, because she is a christian, should not profit from Keith's music, then I hope that you never make purchases from your local Christian Bookstore and perhaps, take it a step further and tell you boss you will forgo your paycheck. Or does that only apply to people in the ministry?

You're a sad case. You think we should pay for the gospel? I wish you could define what "freely give" means or what "buy the truth & sell it not" means. It's talking about ministering the gospel, not working a secular job. You strongly disagree with how Keith Green felt about not charging for ministry. I side with Keith. The correct way is to give tithes and offerings (which I do), that's how God states in His word that ministry is paid. A former minister's daughter should know better.

I do not strongly disagree with Keith's policy. But I don't feel that Melody is evil for choosing to sell Keith's albums because I know first-hand just how people in the ministry are generally treated by so-called "Christians". We will never agree on this issue but you have me curious - how do you feel about churches taking up public "offerings" in their services? That is much more offensive than Melody charging for Keith's music.

And since I believe everyone who professes to be a "Christian" is in the ministry, my point about your secular paycheck is valid. Where does it stop? If you only hold other people to such a standard, just say it.

And a teacher is worth his wages. She has a right to earn a living. Just because the music is Christian doesn't mean that money cant be earned from it. He accepted donations, and gave away to those who could not afford to pay. But if it was in the persons heart to accept his music as a gift he was happy to spread the word this way. Knowing that some would take advantage of his generosity. It isn't cheap to produce this music..

Yes, a teacher is worth his wages. Which I why I see nothing wrong with Melody charging for albums - especially after his death. I don't see how anyone - especially those that claim to be a christian can judge her!

I agree completely. The same with bibles, sure, they don't give them away, but they aren't selling the gospel, they are selling the costs involved in making them. Even the Gideons who give the Book away couldn't do so without the donations to cover the cost of the Bibles you find in your hotel rooms :}

Keith struggled on this point because he wanted to obey God, but in his ignorance he felt that business is not really spiritual, sort of a necessary evil. You see this in Asia where the priests and monks are poor and live off of donations. We tend to think in terms of spiritual and secular, but this is not biblical; but we tend to judge others by that rule.

My wife met him at about that time too. When I married her she had all of his "LP's" She was the one who introduced me to his music. We broke down and bought it all again when CD's came out :) It was my wife and Keith's music that helped me make the decision to become a Christian.

Copyright is there to protect the artist from someone else stealing their work it's not just about making money. It is really amazing though that Keith was so passionate about giving away his album for whatever people could afford to pay for it.

THANK YOU! The Bible says that the workman is worthy of his hire. Copyrights are important. It doesn't mean that the person doesn't love Jesus because he/she wants to be properly compensated for the hard work they've done.

Copyright is a WORLDLY CONCEPT, but the fact that most ministers/ artists/ authors bow to it, proves that Mammon is their real god & that they do not trust Jesus Christ as their Provider! How in the world is it possible to have to pay 20 Euro for a worship DVD? This must make Jesus Christ 'sick!' If Jesus does not go through His church with a whip He has to apologize to the money changers of the tempel in Jerusalem!

Possessions are a worldly concept as well. Do we really need albums to come closer to God, or DVDs? Who is making who dependent? A relationship with God should not be dependent on possessing these kinds of things I think. Just something to think about ;)

I am grateful Last Days Ministries is positive about me sharing Keith's story here on Youtube. They even put up his memorial service on Google Video!

Not charging for the Gospel..YES! I wish this was preached more often, all the commercializing of ministry is sick! Christ gave His life as a free gift, we should be able to give of ourselves in the same way. Thank God for the modern example of Christ we could see in Keith Green.
