I'm going to have to agree with Barney, comparing DD with Soulfly and Hatebreed is absurd. As to korn evolving (I'm a korn fan btw), they would not have done this without the help of the production team which worked on the untitled and their previous effort. Not all of the lyrical content was written by Johnathan and the rest of the band on their recent albums, they had extra writers.
And that's true, they wouldn't have come out with the current album without the help of some talented new help, such as Terry Bozzio on drums and Zac Baird on keys. However, since I've repeatedly admitted that the Soulfly/Hatebreed thing was a bad example, there's really no need to keep bitching about it.
Yes, I do recognize a DD song when I hear it. I do listen to metal. But I'll say it one last time, and I'm not saying anything more or less than this: Korn is more original than DD, for all the reasons I've given again and again. Why is this so hard to understand? I'm not saying DD sucks. I'm saying they're nowhere near as original or groudbreaking as Korn. That's undeniable.

On Korn Untitled, they use Mandolins, a variety of keyboards, harps, choirs, and of course Jon Davis's signature bagpipes. I hear not one original aspect of anything to do with DD, so I have no respect for them.
I'll give you that DD's new album does sound different. But nowhere near as radically evolved as Korn's, by a LONG shot. And tunings have nothing to do with whether a band has copied another's sound; if you take their sound and drop the guitar tunings, you're still ripping them off. Maybe my examples wearn't the greatest, true, but DD's sound is not original. Name one thing they've done other bands haven't, sound-wise. And it's "tone deaf", not "tone death", so you're the idiot.
So how you can call Korn Untitled "boring" if compared to something like new DD, which we've basically all heard a hundred times before...is beyond me.
For example, DD completely ripped off bands like Hatebreed, Soulfly, thinking "oooh, we'll copy their sound only add more double-bass kicks and screaming and grunting, yeah that'll make money". My, how creative, to steal somebody else's idea. Korn never coppied anybody, and their sound is still 100% original. They've been the biggest metal act in the country since 1994 for a reason.
DD are nothing like soulfly nor hatebreed,they are all completely different.Hatebreed's songs are majorly made up of drop D,simple 1 finger chords.DD use drop b, and 90% is finger work + the vocals are completely different. Hatebreed are hardcore,devildriver are not. lease listen to the bands you claim DD have ripped off, you tone death idiot.
Also your comment about DD not evolving by record,get a clue and listen to the latest release. The sound is far more melodic, vocals are diverse and the guitar work is top notch + the solos are immense which is something DD have never done. Being a fan of both DD and korn, Dez' effort is good, but doesn't do this song justice.

Korn has dozens of different sounds and influences on the album, unlike DD. Korn continues to thrive and evolve, presenting a new feel with every album, unlike DD. DragonSword, suck my nuts.
Devildriver also sucks about 10 times worse than Korn. Korn may be starting to get pretty fucked up, what with all the masks and sell-out choruses and whatnot, but they're still cool.

However, as crazy as it may sound, I do like DD. My only point is, they're not original, which is EVERYTHING in music, or any other art, and Korn is, so I like them more.

On Korn Untitled, they use Mandolins, a variety of keyboards, harps, choirs, and of course Jon Davis's signature bagpipes. I hear not one original aspect of anything to do with DD, so I have no respect for them.

I'll give you that DD's new album does sound different. But nowhere near as radically evolved as Korn's, by a LONG shot. And tunings have nothing to do with whether a band has copied another's sound; if you take their sound and drop the guitar tunings, you're still ripping them off. Maybe my examples wearn't the greatest, true, but DD's sound is not original. Name one thing they've done other bands haven't, sound-wise. And it's "tone deaf", not "tone death", so you're the idiot.

For example, DD completely ripped off bands like Hatebreed, Soulfly, thinking "oooh, we'll copy their sound only add more double-bass kicks and screaming and grunting, yeah that'll make money". My, how creative, to steal somebody else's idea. Korn never coppied anybody, and their sound is still 100% original. They've been the biggest metal act in the country since 1994 for a reason.

DD are nothing like soulfly nor hatebreed,they are all completely different.Hatebreed's songs are majorly made up of drop D,simple 1 finger chords.DD use drop b, and 90% is finger work + the vocals are completely different. Hatebreed are hardcore,devildriver are not. lease listen to the bands you claim DD have ripped off, you tone death idiot.

Also your comment about DD not evolving by record,get a clue and listen to the latest release. The sound is far more melodic, vocals are diverse and the guitar work is top notch + the solos are immense which is something DD have never done. Being a fan of both DD and korn, Dez' effort is good, but doesn't do this song justice.

I never said that new DevilDriver isn't heavier than the new Korn. Heavier is not the same thing as better, however. Korn is way more original and in-depth, always has been, DevilDriver is not a new sound by a long shot, their sound was around years before they were, and their new album is no change. Korn has dozens of different sounds and influences on the album, unlike DD. Korn continues to thrive and evolve, presenting a new feel with every album, unlike DD. DragonSword, suck my nuts.

In a certain way,Korn is not the same,but hell's yeah,still one of favorite bands,and DevilDriver,OMG!,Fucking awsome!,I've been hearing Dez Since Coal Chamber and My god,sounds spectacular,and I'm thinking DevilDriver did something to him cuz he just sounds better I think,though Coal Chamber is cool too,any ways,these two together,just awsome!!
