You go Pete.... he and Benny were my idols for my Clarinet playing in the late 50s and 60s. Yes you are right so much like Mozart...sounds like anybody could do that.... The mark of the artist is looks so effortless until you try it. i admire his spunk. Old guys rule!
@jazzgent Pete was my idol too---he made me want to play the clarinet. He's like the Mozart of clarinet---it's all so logical, so clear--so obvious, but yet no one can replicate it. And what a great guy. Meeting him in New Orleans in the 1990s was a great moment for me, and he could not have been nicer.
