Back in the days of plastic, I had an album that had Bill Medley singing "100 Years" on it from the movie of the same name. I don't even know what album it was on. Anybody know?
Hi MiramichierA1, I never had this album, just knew of it. The song "100 Years" has recently been posted on Youtube, perfect-sounding. Obviously the poster took it right off a tape of the movie (which I have done at home myself with a DVD recorder that can also make audio CDs from movie tapes and DVDs). At the very end of the song as posted on Youtube, the end includes the sound of steam where Jim Brown was working on the prison roof in the opening scene.
Hi Michael: Thank you very much. I found the cut on You Tube. I agree it must have come from the movie. On the album, I am sure Medley went way down on the last "100 Years." What a voice! What emotion!
I still remember the first time I heard him & Bobby, while I was chopping firewood at Fort Lewis, trying to stretch my $65 monthly Army paycheck.
These unearthly voices came out of the radio, and I stopped chopping to listen. I knew I had to have whatever album these incredible "black guys" had put out, and then my buddy bet me 20 bucks they weren't black. He knew, of course, but I just KNEW this was easy money.
I lost the 20 bucks but didn't care. Bill & Bobby were the finest duet in history.
"Bill & Bobby were the finest duet in history". Don't know about that...I recall a couple of guys named Sam and Dave...but Bill and Bobby were stupendous no doubt about that

Correction: The movie was "Riot".

"Soft and Soulful" was the album with "100 Years," of the movie Riot.

Thank you Michael! Any chance you could put that on You Tube? I had everything they did. It was a sad day when they split.
