  • I had the opportunity to train w/ M Wang 2x. When George Xu brought him to the La Honda Camp, and again in Grants Pass,OR.

His style looks shaky, but that is how it is meant to be performed.

He was able to effect my body w/ out making physical contact... It was very close to Dragon Ball style fireball! He sent Xu flying w/ out physical contact.

Ge always smiled and laughed- a true master of the arts. died in 08 of pancreatic complications.

  • SO AWESOME!l listen to this song while yuo watch this video! just start the track right when you first see him... its epic!

    J. Rabbit & Tremourz - Mustardayonnaise

  • Brilliant - given me lots of insights into Chen Panling's form

  • I rodered Master Da's video a few years back after learning Wu Style from Master Shum of Ying Jow Pai. This fast form is awesome, I've tried to encorporate some of his concepts in my practice.

  • This guy would be awesome at a rave.

  • what's he looking for? his stick?

  • Excellent. Master Wang excelled at push hands, he clearly learnt a lot of Master Ma

  • This form bears little resemblance to Ma's.

    Not a good form.

  • we'll he was an indoor student of MA. don't you think he would have a better understanding of what he is doing than you. Besides, it is not what you can see that is important. It is what is going on inside his body.

  • As the other commenter pointed out, Master Wang was indeed an indoor student of Ma Yueh Liang and studied with him daily for more than a decade. There are students of Wang in the USA who could explain the meaning of what appear to be the extra "flourishes" that Wang is demonstrating in this form and who consider them invaluable.

  • Just compare his form with Master Ma's, you will the difference.

  • Not really interested. Your basic assumption ("form bears little resemblance to") is flawed IMO. Ma obviously thought very highly of Wang, and why assume that Wang, here, was trying to do the fast form as close as possible to the way Ma performed it? By chance, I happened to be talking to a student of Wang 3 weeks ago, who showed me a similar clip and explained some of what Wang was doing. But, you're certainly entitled to your opinion...

  • Thanks.

  • George Xu brought Wang to the US a number of times starting in 1997 and studied with him until Wang's death in 2002. Those in the US could check with George. I went to a number of camps which featured Wang, but was not a formal student. Wang had amazing abilities!

  • Many of Master Wang's students still practice and teach in Shanghai.

Some of them will be demonstrating and teaching at this year's Double Dragon Alliance Shanghai martial arts training camp, 6-14th October 2007.

Check our website for details or see our youtube videos: roseinchina.

  • Sifu Ma's fast form. Nice.

  • Good to see the Wu fast form on youtube! I'm currently learning it in Sheffield with David Barrow (who is an indoor student of Ma Jiang Bao who in turn is one of the sons of Ma Yueh Liang and Wu Ying Hua).Great stuff!

  • Only if you've got a shovel. He passed away a few years back.

  • Didn't your mama teach you to respect your elders?

  • Got to love that tradition, Nothing like all the garbage today. He is wonderful thanks for sharing

  • Good!

  • Good video, I mean. It looks like an instructional video. Is it for sale?

  • he passed away recently (within the last 2 years)

  • It sounds like we can't find Master Wang now?

    Are there any Ma's indoors?

Thank you for the post and the information!

  • Amazing! Where is Master Master Wang hong dou? Can we find him and learn from him?
