My great grandfather made the drive from Warsaw to Dresden once when he was young. Granted he was driving a tank and it took almost a year but he made it!

Would i be right in stating that before the A4 was complete you would have travelled this route down to Krakow but it would have been a rather bumpy journey with the roads in Poland extremely uneven? I did this border crossing back in March 2003 when i travelled Doncaster to Krakow and can remember vehicle i was travelling literally shaking shortly after stopping at a "Real" hipermarket store in Zgorzelec at the time :)

@ThePixieNinja Yes, that is correct - if you are coming from the west then you would use this road to get to Kraków. There is a new motorway now which is excellent - although I have not filmed it - just one of the stops! The roads are much better now!

I travelled the old A4 in Polska from Bolesławiec to Bytom in 2000.

The Motorway was having in this time the old beton from the 30's and was in a very bad status.

I was in this year 7 years old xD

2003 i also travelled from Bolesławiec to Kraków at this route.

now you can go from Krakow to border in Forst or Gorlitz on motorway, this part of landstrasse is not actual ! they built new part motorway A4...

That is correct and why I write the dates on most of my movies. I have already driven down the new motorway and filmed part of it.

But probably you wont be driving it much longer... The motorway now connects Germany with Wroclaw and Krakow. I drove it last Sunday for the first time but did not film it...... excepting a brief comment. Will post it eventually!!

thats one long tunnel. when I was in france and spain there were some very long tunnels but I think that one was longer.

But the longest are in Switzerland - I have filmed the San Bernandino tunnel but the longest that I have been through is the San Gotthard tunnel but I do not have any film of that.

I have not been there since 2004 but then you could see where the forest had reclaimed part of the motorway!!

they cut down all the forest. the ways are new :) only a little bit must be maken but i like the old streets:)
