FUCK SIMON PROPERTY GROUP! LET EM GET HURT WHERE IT HURTS THE MOST! THE SOONER THAT SHIT COLLAPSES, THE BETTER I WOULD SAY! NO ONE EVER WANTED THAT PIECE OF SHIT MALL TO BEGIN WITH! BRING BACK THE MASTERPIECE OPRYLAND USA THEMEPARK!!!!!
This was covered so little in New York and New Jersey almost every person i have talked to has not had a clue about this disaster since there was almost no news coverage about it here. I still can not believe the president has said or done nothing.
@skaterstevo360 hi & thankyou no the president never came ! our worst disaster since the civil war deaths thousands of homes lost so many lost everything ! he didnot CARE !! period !!! we are recovering with one another as we always as nashvillians do help one another . yes we got fema help to rebuild but not even a FLY OVER BY OUR PRESIDENT hey laura bush came ! says something about her & at least pres bush did go to katriana
It might stink for the employees, BUT it really stunk when they tore down OPRYLAND THEME PARK for a freggin shopping mall!!! One of the lamest moves Nashville has EVER made!!! Chalk this one up to Karma and build back Opryland!!!
@nenarbgrammy. WOW you just referred to Opryland hotel, as a motel. The largest hotel in the country outside Vegas, and you called it a motel. First of all, that "motel" existed in place with a theme park that was one of the jewels and centers of that city. Since tearing down the theme park to build another LAME mall, the "motel"'s occupancy rate has remained a steady 5% lower. Tearing down that mall and bringing back Opryland is the best thing they could do for that "motel". Idiot.
I'm Still mad that they tore down Opryland to build that mall. We used to come up from Mississippi during the summer. When we found out they tore it down, we changed our plans and went to Branson Instead. Gaylord is one stupid company. They dumped the country music from The Nashville Network then sold it (Its Spike Now) they got rid of CMT, sold WSM FM, tore down Opryland, Even tried to drop country music from WSM AM! What next, cancel the Opry show? Stupids.
I HATE THAT MALL. More than half of Nashville hates that mall.
I wouldn't care if they bulldozed the entire thing and burned the rubble. That place is the product of greed, and tore down what was once a lovely family theme park. Now Nashville has NO theme parks, and a way below par mall.
If I want to shop at some rednecky tourists traps, like the stupid Bass Pro shop or Apple Barn (lol) then I'll go to that mall. Green Hills, cool springs.rivergate, how many malls do we need? OPRYLAND 4 EVA
I work at Opry Mills mall. They aren't going to tear it down. It would actually cost more to destroy it than it would to make the repairs. That mall makes millions of dollars per day and the major companies like Bass Pro Shops, Regal Cinemas, Gap, etc will not be willing to lose the biggest cash cow in middle TN.
@CaptainSad they may have to cause the foundation of the building may be wet and stuff so they might tear it down or fix i dont know cause the whole mall is flooded bad i mean really bad and i live here and opry mills is a big mall to
Maybe they will tear down the mall and bring back the theme park which is kinda odd they are discussing whether or not to reopen the mall at all, good chance they will, but they are discussing the idea just to tear the mall down.
@leeb317 On Broadway, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Ave were covered. The I 65 around 10th Ave was flooded. Vanderbilt Hospitals' basements were flooded. The Grand Ole Opry, Opry Mills, the hotel, and good portions of Briley Pkwy were all flooded. LP Field (Titan's stadium) was flooded. So on and so forth.
Does anyone know what is going to happen to Oprymills? Is it even going to remain a mall? I've seen people suggesting to bring "Opryland themepark" back. That would be kinda better than a mall lol
well that guy just earned the title for being the biggest dumbass for knowingly driving into a heavily flooded area then trying to flag down a news chooper with his shorts. FAIL!
They need to add levees to prevent from any more floods along the river.

@jamieandashlee They should tear down the mall and rebuild the park exactly they same. The only thing they could'nt re-create would be the trees.

@righty121 They actually moved it years ago before the flood replacing it with an Essex retail outlet.
