  • Amazing

  • So what actually was used to make this pls. Was it just Daz studio? nothing else?

  • @2010Barbon Hey there! DAZ Studio 3, aniMate (which is animation clips that you can easily mix and match to get the figures to move), Victoria 4.2 (the dancer), Movie Maker (for the entire set / scene (pre-rendered 360 degree backgrounds with matching lighting and multiple cameras to choose from) and the outfit + hair. And that's it! :)

  • nao deu pra ver paro no meio

  • Beautiful animation. The background environment is beautifully modeled. The movement of the dancer is very fluid. The only distraction I saw was the belly button jewel kept disappearing from time to time throughout the video.

  • I thought the animation was wonderful

  • I thought the animation was wonderful

  • Oh my gosh!! Love it!! I just added Movie Maker for Daz3D to my cart. Can't wait to try it :-)

  • how do u make people im stuck

  • Totally impressive! Nice work!

  • this is awesome man.....

  • Holy Crap dude, thats a awesome Animation! ;)

  • Probably motion capture from a big hairy Irany with a fat mustasch.

  • did u use DAZStudeio 2 make this?

  • DAZ Studio 3.0

  • it all looks good apart from the odd clipping here and there and the major problem of her looking like she took afew planks to the face sorry

  • Comment removed

  • wow..breathtaking! and i'm not only talking about the model ;) ...the high-quality presentation! oh yeah, and the animation.

  • awesome!

  • oooo wat a pretty face!!!ha

  • wow, that was very authentic

  • PS3 STATUS!!

  • 5-9 secs per frame rendering time?

    you kidding?

there is only one simple model and panoramic image mapped on to simple background primitive - this should be REALTIME at 30 fps - not 5-9 secs render!

  • .... but IF shadows are dynamic in backround buildings (not clear for me) then show it by fast animation "sun" position.

  • You´re quite right - compared to a real time game engine, this is slow.

However, DAZ Studio is not a real time software engine - and 5-9 sec per frame is extremely fast (for being a free software) considering the Victoria 4 model with outfit / hair is above 100.000 polygons and we´re calculating shadows each frame.

  • face looks shitty 1*/5* for the face

  • this looks great

  • wow

  • i create my charters in daz and use autodesk maya to make my charters and the back ground look real. its fast and looks real great!

  • hahahahahahaha did you see her face?

  • Yepp - hourse face! :)

  • Hi, fantastic video. I use DAZ3D but so far only for still imgery. I have been thinking about using AniMate, but I would rather get MovieMaker if I don't need AniMate so my question is:

Do you need AniMate to use MovieMaker?

  • Hey, thanks! AniMate is for animating figures, such as V4 and M4. It uses so called aniBlocks that you simply drag and drop to combine motion blocks. You can do that in layers as well, using the Plus version. However, aniMate LITE is built into DAZ Studio 3 - so you don´t need to buy the standard or PLUS versions. There are some free sample motion blocks as well - so you can get going without buying anything besides Movie Maker. Hope that helps!

  • Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question.

Looking forward to getting Movie Maker.

I tried "The Movies" via Lion Head Studios but one cannot customize that at all. Your product looks much more flexible and I believe there will be upgrades and additional scenes one can purchase.

    Very good.

    Thanks again.

  • Any time! Yes, we´re already working on the next version and have some cool features coming! :) Background packs are being made as we speak and will be released on a regular basis. There´s also a free ebook on how to make your own Movie Maker background packs in the Dreamlight store at DAZ3D.

  • wow i wish i can do this

  • Of course you can!

  • 0:04 text is in very good quality and video seems to have less kompression. Ho big was this video ?

did you made this video with sony vegas?

  • Don´t recall the size. Somewhere between 200-300 Mb, 100% quality WMV from Sony Vegas Pro 8.

  • thank you for your answer. The building behind, did you built it with 3DS Max oder Cinema 4d ? oder also in Daz Studio?

  • The background packs are made with Lightweave 9.6 and Vue 8i. You can make them pretty much with any software capable of rendering 360 degree images, including Bryce. If your software can´t render 360 degree images, then you can render 6 square images facing front, left, back, right, top and down (each with a 90 degree FOV) - and then stitch them together into a sperical map using a stitching software.

  • I installed Daz Studio 5days ago to try MM.

And I could make a movie 2days ago with MM.

It's very easy and great !

  • Awesome, great to hear you´re having fun!

  • OMG! It looked sooooo real at the beginning!

  • Thanks!

  • Inspiration for I

  • So how long was the rendering on this 2.03 sec. video????

  • It was done using an early beta version and rendered in chunks - so I can´t say for sure - but a few hours in total...

  • The reason i asked was, i made a few shorts and for two min. of rendered video took about two and a half days.

i quit using the program because of the rendering time, i don't have the patience.

  • Agree on that. I tend to keep rendering time very short when doing animations. Not because I can´t wait 2 hours for a render, it´s because animations very fast tend up to end up with 1000´s of frames. And 2 hours times 1000 - well - that´s TIME! Try cutting down the complexity and especially keep the lighting simple. That will speed up the rendering. When doing the music video "LOVE", I aimed for 1 min-4 min per frame - and that´s without using the Movie Maker.

  • You are the best :) Love it!!!

  • with all the work put into the scene and motion capture.....you would think they could have used a better V4 face =/

She looks like the Joker got ahold of her.

  • This scene took a few minutes to make, using DAZ Studio, aniMate (mocap blocks) and Movie Maker. But I have to agree about the hourse face! lol

  • LOL horseface. Exactly. The body's great but the head gotsta go.

Would love to see this scene Using Aiko or Terai Yuki instead.

  • Yeah, that would be cool!

  • now is ok thanks:-)

  • Awesome!

  • help i dont see a shadow on the ground in plugin

  • Are you using the latest DS 3.0.1.144?

  • cool. I'm trying to figure out what to use to make some simple animations and tried DAZ studio but it doesn't work witha graphics tablet (unprofessional) and so figured I'd just use poser. But I'm not really up on poser or how the DAZ figures really work. I looked at iclone too.

Anyway, any tips? was going to use crazy talk for talking up close shots and poser for full body but I'm rather new to what these can do and best workflow. Did you green screen the model?

  • No green screen. Movie Maker uses pre-rendered background that surround the characters 360 degrees with matching lighting, camera and shadows.

  • Okay, well, I can read online somewhere I guess and find out more. thanks!

  • The easiest way to animate figures, is actually to use DAZ Studio with aniMate. aniMate are animation blocks you add to your figures and you can mix and match that mo-cap data in several layers.

  • but why does DAZ studio not work with a graphics tablet? How in the world could they not code the pgm for that? That seems extremely unprofessional to me and I guess I just refuse to use a mouse. :(

  • I believe you would get the most use out of a graphics tablet with a modelling software - where you create your models - and not designing scenes, lighting and such. Well, we all have our preferences, don´t we! :)

  • Yep. I use a graphics pen for EVERYTHING. I don't use a mouse at all. It's bulky and clumsy and the pen is much easier to control because it's smaller AND it sucks because I don't want to have to use a mouse in daz studio. I'd have to BUY a mouse and keep it hooked in and maybe that's just what I'll have to do. I wonder if Poser Pro can do the same or similar ref animation.

  • ¡¡¡¡FANTASTIC¡¡¡¡

  • Thanks!

  • is movie maker compatible with poser 2.5?

  • Sorry, Movie Maker is for DAZ Studio 3.0 only.

  • Very impressive! Can this only be used with your preset scenes or is it possible to produce your own backgrounds to use with it?

  • Thank you. Yes, you can create your own background sets. We have a guide being written in the very moment and it will be out any day in the DAZ Dreamlight store for free.

  • Just bought the lot :)

  • Thanks, I hopre you´ll enjoy using it!

  • The music was awesome, the background looks good to me, I can't tell that it DIDN'T take hours! Can't stand V4's terrible smile morphs, but you can't help that! Great stuff!

  • Thanks! Yeah - her smile look awfful! lol

  • what is Movie Maker?

  • Originally, the working name was "Music Video Maker", but we changed it to "Movie Maker"- as the plug in can be used for so much more than music videos... :)

  • Got it! :D

  • omg, this is fabulous!! I have several MV's waiting in the wings too!! And yes, the render times are horrendous. I can't wait til this is available! Great job!!!

  • Awesome thanks! It´s out now! :)

  • It looks very real,congratulations!

  • Thanks guys!

  • excellent video

  • Other than her facial expression never changes..it's awesome:)

  • Looks amazing :)

  • Very cool ,cant wait

  • Wow I love it...Great job on every movement:)

  • Thank you!

  • good, carrara or what render?

  • DAZ Studio ;)

  • thats awesome camera movements.l the jittering you see maybe more with the player than the WMV, youtube recommends MP4 h.264 codecs. WMV has its own version of h.264 but the flash player has trouble dealing with.

  • Thanks, that makes sense! :)

  • Anyone knows why WMV files play with some jittering?

  • is that Ah!Environment lighting?

  • Actually, MVM automatically matches the lighting against the backgrounds using built in lighting.

  • well hurry up and put it on sale!! the uses are endless for that!
