  • I think the Nyadundos play a high class type of ohangla. Their songs arent all abt women shaking asses but it's got a lot 2 do with the pitch, rhythm and tone of the song. makes me think I'm listening 2 rumba. the Nyadundos ar waaaaay above in this league.

  • and its ramogi nite tonite.................!

  • @mzalendo2020 : the song title translates into you you punish/bother or tease me with your love. He basically talks about the various in which he is infauated which a particular woman and goes about describing her in lovely ways such as her physique etc or a person with money has a glowing face and the woman is now like money.

  • @mzalendo2020 : he even goes to say don't even look at me cos you will make me lose my head.

  • Awesome song goddamn it!

  • this song is for me yawa were.

  • Wakenya never cease to amaze. All of a sudden Tanzanian music becomes Kenyan just because it is sung in a language some Kenyans understand. Where does that leave us Watanzania. Tony is Tanzanian guys.

  • Gosh, kaa yeye mwenyewe anajiita mkenya unataka tudo? Even the bro Jack identifies himself as Kenyan. They came to Kenya as kids. Please talk to them wajiite waTanzania and then we will follow suite. Tanzanians didn't even support his music when he tried a gig there as an adult.

  • By the way, it's not 'some' Kenyans who understand, it's roughly 3 million or more people in Kenya who understand the language vs. 3 hundred thousand of TZ.

  • Tony is a luo from Kenya, it is you guys who want to claim him ,we've never claimed any Tanzanian musician even when one did good music eg Jerry Nashon formerly of Bima Lee Orchestra (song, Nakulata etc) and örutu"maetro Buore Kasumba

  • @naliakar what a stupid comment!!

  • Souverian1er, Thanks for the explanations.. seems to be easier for me as an ugandan lou to understand jaluo by reading it than listing to jaluo. I would for an exemple read "Nyar Alego" as "Dotter of/from Alego"... Man we need to have a festival/carnival for all the luo people where it would be characterized by the different folk dances, music, dishes etc. of the various peoples luo... why not have it i kisumu (kenya) or Gulu (uganda)

  • thats a great idea. all the people from the nile.

  • Eh thumni kethoga wiya! Mit aduwa adhi yudo heart attack! Tony Nyadundo ur the best n this is ma favourite of all.Iparo wamiel kodi live @ th sunset hotel ma wasungu wagogo otenga mawetug.Mosna osiepa Ayugi Mbuta,Otuge Robert ,Odero Iddy ja mbita kod wuod Musa mahero to sanda gi hera..Ehhhhh..jus look at the guy on this video mit kabisa abiro mapiyo iromna

  • yawa..............joha

  • Just the best

  • the melody and the singing is so beautiful..I wish I could understand it though.....as an african american I swear I wish I had a better connection to mama africa.

  • Testesgirl:

The title of the song literally means "you are torturing me with/using love", and is a song designed to woe a woman.

Essentially the artist sings about a lady he is madly in love with. The lady's name is Akinyi Nyar Alego, Akinyi being the name and "Nyar Alego" means lady from Alego (Alego is a place near Kisumu City).

  • dont worry wil teach u the language

  • shit is this how the luo i kenya sounds like, ive almost thought it was bantu music. Cant understand shit even though I´m luo from uganda. Like the slow rhythm though, can see myself enjoying a glass of beer listining to this music. Nice to hear music from my brother in kenya.

  • Most of the song is actually done in a poetic way where he praises the lady using a very lofty, heavily idiomatic Luo Praise style called "Pakruok". This is my mother tongue, but some of it is so deep I don't get it 100%.

    Very beautiful lyrics!

  • yep it gets deep and I had some trouble too and had to ask my parents. the song is very poetic and illustrates alot about one can be infatuated.

  • @smaragdgatan right ON brother

  • i love't.Omera kiwincho? Nyadundo keep't'p

  • the title of the song means you punish me with love and he goes to describe how much he is infatuated with a particular woman who possess beautiful features.

  • Thanks for the elucidating hun. Now I know what song to sing to my luo sisters. Hehe

  • that tune rockssss...hata kama sielewi nin nini anabonga....

  • Omera! I love this song. Keep it up Nyadundo, U rock!

  • Even though I don't understand what he is saying, the song in general has alot of cultural flavor.

  • the main subject of the song is love. isanda gi hera means you punish me with love.

  • Love this beat!!

  • ayie go nyasaye ogwethu

  • a man is his own beliefs, his own ideas and actions. A woman feels fortunate to be selected by a quality husband. Families are permanent.

  • Naidamu manynwae Raila galagala! Thanks

  • I was on vacation back home

I heard this song on a mathree and man!!!!!

Heard it in K1 same night and man!!!!

I had to buy the CD.

We've spent yrs listening to Kikuyu folk songs on Kenyan FMs. Time for a change!!!

Go Nyadundo. Go Agwambo. Go Obama.

  • yeah me likes this mucho too gohead show dem what kenyans r made offfffffff....

  • I m glad to see the Luo preserve their culture and showing the gigantic rocks which also they prayed to p.s Obama s fathers tribe which of course he really doesnt care neither know..otherwise this is awesome too great took an amplifier and hooked it to local natiti...fantastic

  • they never prayed to rocks, these were sites of worship due to their extra-ordinary and unfathomed nature. there charactristics marks but a induction point which helped in tanscendence towards Obongo Were, Nyakalaga, Nyasaye (God). siyo kwa ubaya, just making the point clear to erase the misinterpretation.

  • thanks for the correction, regardless i m from Kenya and thoroughly enjoy the music, why did you not mention omyeri..the pythons!!! Just like the agikikuyu faced mt Kenya while praying!!!

  • eh kisumu yawa those humongus rocks still exist where the biggest pythons live and bask in the sun during the day huha ha a very good men thanks for posting these jams aright with me nyako maberrrrrrr

  • Wow thats a great song, though i dont understand Luo,but it sounds great,i miss home

  • Jamaa am Kyuk but I remember going out and that song would fill the air and everyone would react to it. Yani jamaas you wanna let politics deprive us of the niceness that existed in our country?Maze tugutuke tuone hawa watu ni raia wanamess up wen them they don get affected by the negativity that follows.Pamoja.

  • I agree with you, these politicians are making it hard for every tribe to freely choose whats good for our bones.. i.e music

  • This is one of my best songs -Thousand miles away from home, i miss home and when i listen to this song .......... I want to go back to Kisumu - Kenya NOW. (Mana kawuono makata kiny daa.) Ayayayayayayayaaaaaaaaaa - so proud to be a luo.

  • Hi jodala waa..check out my video...

  • This is Music in its real sense. My wife translated for me what it means and all I can say is Tony Nyadundo is a true asset on the Kenyan front in all aspects and let's face is, music cuts accross the tribal lines and even the language boundaries. Thanks Tony Nyadundo (Jaduong')

  • my best friend while I lived in SouthAfrica was a kyuk, cann't beleive what is happening!

  • It feels me with so much sadness. Growing up in buru, my next door neighbor was luo...and we grew up closer to each other than even my own brother...and Iam Kyuk. Years later, I chose this buddy of mine to be the best man in my wedding here in Atlanta. Why should we let kibaki/odinga upuzi mess our beautiful country Kenya? Who cares who is luo, luyha, kamba, taita, kyuk, meru or Kisii? GODDAMN IT WE ARE ALL KENYANS!!!!!!!!!

  • Nakusikia!

My best friend in high school was a kyuk and he would stay with us during school closings so we could study for the national exams, yet were djangos, it did not matter. Tumejiharibiya kweli!

  • hebu tu skieni hii story raila amewekwa prime nimister so we know that there is nothing to worry about. tulijiharibia yes but kila kitu iarudi tu normal. nime wa fill.

  • As a Canadian who lived in Ulamba for 7 months,I learned to love Tony's music.I also learned to love the Kenyan people and the many diverse cultures.I hope that you will get back to where you were last year, people, friends and neighbors willing to help one another.

  • guys a lets commend tony for a great job and cease being tribalistic we are Kenyans and will always be. make love not war.

  • Guys am a kiuk but i like Tony Nyadundo music,it rocks even though i dont understand some luo words.I was brought up in Eastlands and most of my mates are Luo so we should stop hating each other. We are all Kenyans, osiepuna.Politics shold not make us hate each other,we are all kenyans.Any time i go to kenya,i have to go 2 Egesa in umo to listen to this music.Does it mean ishould not go now coz am a kiuk?

  • nivetir...enjoy...tuko pamoja

  • Aporo ka a dhitimo k.c.p.e to alawo thum e gweny mit leyore proper

  • excellent!

  • nice to hear this music sound better here than from the original cd. This guy broke boundaries of local music, kenyans irregardless of tribe enjoy it equally just as luos do. Transforming traditional music in this way is a big plus. D O Missiani used the guitar and so it spread throughout kenya now it's this guy with his piano, etc. the quality is superb let's promote kenya and her culture. Love to all kenyans wherever you are....!
