  • Jareth is so cute :) !!!!!!

  • such an amazing film :) always one of my favorates and david bowie wow :)

  • Nothing 2 do with a fight Bowie was born with his eye like that I read his auto-biog

  • @ApologizeLovely Oh honey don't worry about it. It happens all the time. I thought Chuck Norris was hot when I was like 14. Besides that I honestly think that David Bowie is only hot when he's in this movie.

  • Kinda wish this movies was done with a younger Bowie...around the "Life on Mars," "Ziggy..." years but with the same Jennifer Connelly.

Jareth, we're in need of you time travel assistance.

  • Is that Chaka Kahn? @0:42???

  • @MeanGenene Yeah, that's her.

  • hes really goodlooking =) the way he says "turn back sarah" is like kind of sarcastic and funny in a way.

  • HAPPY bday BOWIE

  • Bowie looks better as Jareth...

  • If you don't love this movie, you deserve to be molested by the helping hands.

  • Anybody else spy Kevin Clash (aka Elmo) at 7.33?

  • @TheMerrow3 he was joking.

  • David kicked a baby?

  • This film is still one of my all time favourites; I pratically grew up on it so it'll always be very special to me.

  • Ha, my name is Sarah, and whenever I hear him say my name in this movie, I smile (:

  • Whoop!

  • how old is bowie now???

  • @AwsomeXzero i think he's 64...

  • At 5 minutes 10 you can see a shot of Karen Prell operating one of the Goblin puppets. She is now a lead animator for Valve.

  • all in all this is one of my favorite movies and when I think about this movie I would never think about troll 2 or another terrible movie

  • I'm 16 years old and I think a guy slightly older then my grandmother is hot....

    I need mental help.

  • This is my favorite movie as a child, i have it on blu-ray and dvd. I love the songs, Jeniffer Conelly and all.

  • I just bought a talking figurine of the Gobling King :D

  • I must say that everytime I see David smiling I blush and smile. He is beyond attractive not only in this movie but out of it.

  • @KIERSKAYandKAYKIERS I thought I was the only one :O He's too attractive for his own good! I'm just glad he knows how to use his chick-magnet powers. Like the insanely tight pants.

  • i DREAM to meet david bowie somedaay and become famous :3 i kno laim dream hay

  • Ernie from Sesame Street talks at 3:39!

  • i want to be an actor and i dont care if I never work again after this but I DREAM of working in a jim henson movie!!!

  • Jim Henso is so coool! he was the one who made the muppets!

  • I LOVE BOWIE, THE SOUNDTRACK, THE STORY; THE CAST, THE EFFECTS, THE GOBLINS...THIS MOVIE IS A MUST SEE !!!

  • I remember when I was a kid and saw this and thought how pretty bowie was haha

  • Bowie looks like he's having fun. XD

  • i really wish that they could have done a second one this is and always will be my favorit movie

  • i thought that wicked crazly amazing hairstyle of Jareth in the movie was david bowie's actual hair! :O

  • I saw him spinning the orbs and my mind immediately went 'Fushigi!' wow.

  • One of my favorite movies :) God bless you Jim Henson!

  • Aww, David kicked a baby and called the baby an it? That's so mean! I still love him, though.

  • It didn't translate, but luckily, David has a swagger all of his own.

  • Black movements = Black swagger

  • R.I.P. Jim Henson. I love Labyrinth.

  • ...and only in the 80's could they say things like "black movements," seriously. XD

  • Aw Jim Henson looks like such a kind, friendly soul. It makes me so sad that he's no longer with us and that he died thinking this movie was a failure. 25 years after the critics were done with it--look at it now. It's got a life of it's own.

  • @AlienAbandoned This movie is like fine wine... need I say more?

  • @AlienAbandoned its sad but some artist will die b4 their art is truly appreciated

  • Aw, he kicked a baby! That's kind of terrible but kind of funny at the same time.

  • This movie is so esoteric and much of it is illuminati/masonry symbolism. Bowie him self is a member of the OTO I believe. I loved it as a child but I study it now through a very skeptical lense.

  • whenever jim talks, all i hear is kermit

  • Lol for some reason I thought it was cute how Jim went riding up to the studio on a bike.

  • I used to fucking love this as a kid.

  • i wish sarah had just gone with jareth-that would be a good ending...the fire gang could sing at the wedding

  • I wish out of nowhere I could start singing this song and David Bowie as Jareth would poof magically beside me as background music start out of thin air and all these puppets just show up and we will all sing Dance Magic Daance!! I would do that anytime when it was too quite or too boring. Or just to weird people out. It would be great.

  • slime and snails and puppy-dog tails...

  • thank god u posted this

  • My mom had an art class with Jim Henson once way back before he was famous. She said the instructor always gave them a hard time with the role call. Her last name was Hanson then.

  • What is the name of the song that bowie is singing around one minute?

  • @auntriri22 so why are you watching this video -.- dumbass

  • David Bowie's eyes are beautiful

  • haha....G it up....lol

  • I saw this movie when I was a kid... too innocent to understand that I felt attracted to Jareth... Now I understand... David Bowie is so HAWT that even makes kids attracted to him! (That's wrong in so many levels) xD

  • David has one blue eye and one brown eye

  • @alwaysgrandmasgirl Actually, both his eyes are blue. One is just permanently dilated because he was injured in a fight years ago.

  • Not many artists would be that cool. "Want to play this character and write songs for him? It's a kid movie." He's just wicked.

I liked the movie honestly, how many movies do something like that? Who thinks of having a movie with goblin puppets? Then putting a rock star in it? Then a fifteen year old girl and a baby? Pretty damn creative. I would have seen this movie in theaters. It'd be like Rocky Horror.

  • @AngelGhostchild i did see it in the theater in december at the siff :D it was JUST like rocky horror!! everybody quoted the "no power over me" and all the songs. it was awesome

  • He looks so much better with long hair. ^^

  • @akissy I agree.

  • This movie was very memorable to me when I was a kid. I really appreciate the producer can use the most limited resource and effect in 80's but still can make a spectacular movie like this. It's remarkable!!

  • i want to fuck david bowie so bad!!!

  • Thank goodness they didn't ruin the movie with Sting or Michael Jackson!

  • @WhiteButterflied You took the words right out of my mouth! I love Sting, but there is no way he could have pulled off Jareth.

  • DAVID BOWIE IS SO SEXY LIKE OMFG WHY AAAHHHH.! ok like yum.

  • You know how Pavlov's dogs would drool at the sound of a bell?

Same concept with us and Bowie's voice.

  • My stepmum tattoos one of the guys who was a goblin in this. And I'm such an incredible dork that I pester him about it. Apparently Bowies amazing in person.

  • u think david ever got a boner at least once in making this movie?

    ;p

  • @Jasmine0813 Lol I know! ^-^ So cute. I wish I was that baby....

  • everytime david speaks i just melt!

  • Damn, David Bowie!..!! ;D

  • ass to ass!

  • 3:50 Daawwww. X) <3

  • love the effort they put into older movies, I can honestly say I'd much prefer puppets to CGI

  • "smack that baby make him free"...?

  • Wait- he KICKED a baby? o.O

  • Comment removed

  • i love Jareth smile when Sara says "your the goblin king"... David Bowie has a beautiful voice ans a sexy look and dam Davis had so much patient... Jim Henson has an imagination

  • lol at david bowie with fushigis

  • Isn't David and Jennifer supposed to kiss in this movie?

  • @TheDolphinlover1234 yeah, but the stupid "test audience" didn't like Jennifer being "under-aged". I think they should've included that part on the DVD as a special... :(

  • @pokemaniacdance That's dumb! They really should've had it on here.I really want to see it =(

  • he got a big penis, its kinda weird that it stands out too much

  • 6:11 to 6:15- The face!!!

  • @TheSugarAlchemist He looks like he's about to crack up!

  • @TheBookWorm1718 Totally! xD I wounldnt blame him at all if he did.

  • 9 people need to stop clicking while intoxicated.

  • You have to try this new option where you can make subtitles out of what they're saying. It's incredibly funny. For excample when he said 'Time is short' the subtitles say 'tying his shoe' :D Ok to come back to the fil, I L.O.V.E it and I wish I would have been born to the time of that movie so I could watch it in the cinema and go to Jim Henson to beg him for a sequal.

  • I love how David Bowie does a little evil cackle at 4:00 I mean, could they have picked a better Goblin King?

  • Is that Chaka Khan back there singing?

  • I only hate Sarah because she never realized how lucky she was to have the man of MY dreams ask and offer her everything. Cause i Know if that was me I would have said yes and let him do wat he wanted with me if you know what i mean ;3

  • @bowieluver1 Yes but at the expense of losing her brother forever. I wouldn't choose the king either.

  • @bowieluver1 I hate Sarah, too, only because she was mean to Toby at the beginning of the film XD And yeah, I'm slightly jealous of her as well!!

  • @bowieluver1 Yeah but the whole point of bowie's character is that he represents the epitome of sarah's romantic and sexual desire, and yet he's asking her to compromise herself and her principles. She's strong enough to realize that no matter how tempting a relationship may be it means nothing if you lose yourself in the process. It's part of the genius of this film.

  • @bowieluver1 i kno i would have done anything to be sarah and one thing i found put that they were gonna make a kissing scene in there of her and the goblin king but they think it would be to odd because of her age anyways shes so lucky :3

  • @bubbles1234440 is there a deleted scene of this anywhere?!?! O.O

  • @bowieluver1 im afraid not i tried but didnt show?

  • David Bowie is soooo awesome!!!!!!

  • 6:29 Why was he kicking babys?

  • @ssjnadam07 Trying to make it gurgle, but I gotta agree that's an odd way to go about it though. You'd think kicking it would make it scream or cry, not gurgle.

  • This movie, The Dark Crystal, The Thing, The Howling and American Werewolf are shinning examples of the beauty of practical makeup effects...

    I miss those days

  • Thank you for this! I loved seeing the behind the scenes of the MAGIC Dance scene!

  • She's sooooo pretty. What happened to Jennifer Connelly since then? Why is she so skinny now?

  • Thanks for posting this! I've been looking for this documentary for years. It was on Dutch TV only once.

    I LOVE this movie :)

    *"i hit something, yes?no?"* the cannonball :P

  • no other man can look good in skinny jeans like david bowie XXXDD

    thumbs up if you agree

  • Does anyone know if this is on the DVD?

  • @FallenEmbyr yeah...i have it. (:

  • @xJoycexVampirex Awesomeness!! I am so jealous!!

  • @FallenEmbyr I got it when I was like 7 :D

  • @FallenEmbyr yes it is, I own both VHS and DVD. But I found my DVD in a pawn shop so I dunno if they sell them anymore, I think they still sell em but not to sure. hope I helped! :D

  • @OfficialElika I'm pretty sure they still sell them, which is good because I need to actually own this movie haha. And you did help, thanks!!

  • @FallenEmbyr Okay. You're welcome :D

  • Thank YOUUU

  • If I could build a time machine, I'd go back in time and bring all the Labyrinth fans with me so we could prevent this movie from being a 'box office failure'. :D That and mess around in the late 80's.

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage I would love to do that!!!! XD

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage really? this was a box office failure?! are u kidding?

  • @houndsofroses I'm afraid I'm not, the movie didn't make as much money as they spent on it so that's what it was considered. It really depressed Jim Henson and it was one of the last few movies he made before he died. :/ I guess they weren't wild about it way back when but now it's considered a cult classic. :)

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage But it is one of Sony's top-selling movies on DVD at least, which is why they asked Jim Henson to make a sequel (but they made MirrorMask instead :/ )

  • @WishesLost Technically it does have a sequel...in the form of a manga. The last volume of it was just released in August.

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage True. I'll take any form of more Labyrinth that I can get. But at least the movie was able to earn a nice amount on VHS/DVD/Blu-ray. Shame it didn't do well in theaters.

  • @WishesLost Too true.

  • @WishesLost Yeah - I suppose Labyrinth is more a film to watch at home.

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage indeed! but i would hardly call this a box office fail, iv'e been watching this movie since i was 5

  • @Aquamarien0x0 Yeah I don't think its a box office failure either, but it didn't gross nearly as much at the box office as it spent on making the movie, hence the horrible label.

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage If you do :D

    Please take with you,

    :)

    haha...

  • @xSomeDelicateFlowerx lol will do. :)

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage thank you :)

I'll be waiting for the day you build your time machine.

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage Talk about Anachronism. *-* I would LOVE to dance with David Bowie at least once. ^^ When you're done building them machine, please tell me and I'll accompany you. ^^

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage I blame the box-office failure on the crappy trailer.

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage Please count me in! I would spend a month's earnings just in watching that movie in a cinema screen >< .

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage Sadly, goo movies don't always get the recognition they deserve. But better late than never...fans are discovering this movie....it's a trip back to 'old fashioned' movie making that doesn't depend on CGI

  • @YondaimeKitsuneKage imagine how great it would be if they remade it O___O like the graphics and everything would be.........

  • @MisaMisa6666

    ...utter rubbish.

It'd be Yoda all over again, they'd replace the puppets with CGI creatures that end up being more cartoony than anything, and they'd probably cast Russell Brand as Jareth!

Leave it alone, filmmakers! Let this 80's movie be!

  • @auuggghhh No no, like use the same puppets, but the backrounds and images would be better, but get good actors instead of hiring bad actors for the new ones -_- you know how they do with redoing movies.

  • @auuggghhh Oh my gosh. Russell Brand as Jareth? I think I'm going to have nightmares now... I'd say that the main reason they can't remake it is that no one can play Jareth like David Bowie. He was just brilliant in that role.

  • David Bowie's probably the only guy who can wear make-up, glitter and paint-on pants and still look damn sexy...

  • @Outtamymind381 yeah

  • @Outtamymind381 lmao i agree! Jareth isnt the GOBLIN king, hes the GLITTER king lol

  • @Outtamymind381 hahah not true tim curry can rock make up and wear a corset and fishnets frank n furter! XD :D david and tim <3

  • @Outtamymind381 damn straight!

  • @Outtamymind381

Ever seen Rocky Horror Picture Show? Tim Curry was pretty sexy in his black corset and fishnet stockings ;-)

  • @Outtamymind381 Beat that Edward Cullen!

  • @Outtamymind381 he has now been followed by Adam Lambert ;3

  • @Outtamymind381 youre right

  • I'm glad they made the right choice in casting david bowie, he's a legend compared to michael jackson.

  • I was 15 when this movie came out. To this day, i still love it. I own it on DVD. And yes, David is very hot in this. I really wish they would do a sequel. Jim Henson may not be alive, but hey get either Frank Oz or George Lucas to do it.

  • @buffyfn1996 I do not want to see Bowie in Jareth's "attire" at his current age.

  • I was 15 when this movie came out. To this day, i still love it. I own it on DVD. And yes, David is very hot in this. I really wish they would do a sequel. Brian Henson may not be alive, but hey get either Frank Oz or George Lucas to do it.

  • telling her to turn back o.O??.. he started it.. and yes.. David is soo in this movie XD

  • @thebenchwarmer And what brought you to the conclusion that David is in this movie? rofl

  • lots of people on here say they fell in love with bowie and this movie at such a young age. I think it was because we knew there was something about bowie that was just amazing and romantic and mysterious

  • David is so cute in the movie

  • 03:06 David Bowie reminds my of my older sister

  • Bowie is incredible! I love him as Jareth! I can't imagine if they chose anyone else for the part!

"You're him aren't you? You're the goblin king!"

Jareth: *Smirk* "That's right fangirls. Squee in delight before me!" That's what he'd be thinking XD

  • I love David Bowie.

  • I need some friends who like this stuff no one I know loves him like I do

  • what a lovely bottom ;)

  • I don't think anyone else could have done this role the same way

  • I honestly could have done without the random song interludes of David Bowie, but it was a pretty solid movie I must say. It's sort of a 3 star film.

  • @ProjectEndgame I feel the same way. I tried very hard to enjoy all the movie, but the songs....Not something I could play in front of my family without being teased. ^^"

  • @isearchforfullmoons Totally, my mom didn't get it, we watched it and all through the movie I hear 'this is boring, this is weird, this doesn't make any sense, is this EVER going to pick up? Oh David Bowie, I don't like him, he's weeeeird' and he is but why is that a bad thing?

  • Omg, David Bowie IS Jareth...love him!

  • lol the beginning of scene hair......haha

  • Glad Jackson did not get the part. I think Sting could have pulled it off. Just seeing him in the Dune movie. David Bowie is the best out of the three.

  • The only person who could take Bowie's place in this movie is Christopher Walken
