  • imagine if they could do this on purpose... a Sukhoi is chasing down a Hornet in a dogfight and BAM block of concrete to the face (or live ordinance i guess)

  • looks like some one had lucky charms for breakfast ツ

  • ha.......a turbulance seeking bomb eyyyy........cool

  • poor little A4. thing is worth more than a 1000 hornets

  • "There's no hope they can survive"

"But wait, the pilots can be seen ejecting"

Cool video but the commentary was stupidly manipulative

  • now thats what you call "friendly-fire" xD

  • fail...that would suck ass

  • .. woops?

  • You wont trust me if i tell you that many of american professional pilots(maybe not in few last year) came to Serbia to learn and study from our pilots. I really mean that, maybe unbelievable, but true story. You can check if you dont trust me.

  • @MrDJFantom serbia pilots suck isreali pilots are the best

  • What? Who is so silly and flies the plane that is going to be hit? Just for fun?

  • Never thought they would or even could! but so glad they survived, but what an experience!

  • did he die?

  • And Douglas's Escapac saves some more lives! The little seat that could!

  • Alright noobs, prepare to be schooled: What you watched was a Mk. 82 500# bomb and a BRU-33 Vertical Ejector Rack do what they are known to do: Goes sideways when they're jettisoned. This may be the incident that taught the lesson. All that happened was a store coming off the aircraft and doing something unexpected. No malice, no failure on anyone's part. Discovery has this video up in much better quality if you want a better idea of what you're looking at.

  • @YoungJim409 wall of text, BORING

  • @worm0101 Hi! If you have trouble absorbing an idea in 84 words, get used to making fast food for the rest of your life. Yes, I will have fries with that.

  • The problem was that the bomb has two joints with the wing and to leave the bomb safe, the front joint must "explode" first and then the back. In this accident happened the opposite so the bomb "pitched".

  • wow, amazing shot

  • with diaper full of mud

    holy chit batman

  • You guys are all fucking idiots!! The CVER was still attched.....that wasnt supposed to happen. Some AO probably got their ass chewed the fuck out for this!

  • Wow, direct hit.

  • Didn't the bomb come off the F-18 with the pylon still attached to it?

  • Its not a fail, the plane/bomb hit turbulence.

  • epic fail

  • The pilots were lucky

  • THOSE PILOTS CAN HAS EVASIVE MANEUVERS??

  • @Donimusic hell no it happened within half a second by the time they realized it was coming at them it was to late

  • @yoyoyoyoshua noononono I mean like, when they ejected just in the nick of time... man all i can say is FUCKING RIGHTS U GUYS MADE IT OUT!!!

  • EPIXIC FAIL omg how they managed that.

  • lol epic fail!

  • THANK GOD the pilots were able to eject.

  • FAIL

  • well i guess it just wasnt meant for that thing to get bombed lol

  • I've got 5 bucks that each pilot shit his pants by the end of this film!

  • @Trailltrader they probably puked and pissed too... and needed a cig as soon as they got to land...

  • the shouldive used a f-14 to drop the bomb

  • @youwutupdog it was probely a test for the F-18 unless they were testing a new bomb.

  • i feel sory for the piolts

  • hardcore... :O

  • LOL looks like economical crisis forced US military to use kamikaze xD

  • Fuckin retards! Where the hell did they expect the bomb to go?

  • @nastytrog

    Down im guessing....

  • objects don't react to gravity in the same way when they are in a vortex. It is basic physics.

  • @nastytrog

exactly, i always like the simple examples like rotation effect etc

  • @nastytrog down fuckin retard not off to the left.

  • AWESOME..............

  • LOLOL

  • jet wash

  • holy s****

  • Very nice ejection! those pilots are real profesionals!

  • lawl

  • @cjvchile23 Aha, you go try that at those speeds.

  • @cjvchile23 it was turbulence that knocked the missile loose =)

  • BAIL OUT!!!!!!!!

  • Yikes

  • glad to see the pilot is okay

  • Is it me or at 0:27 the pylon is still attached to the bomb? It looks like was wide enough to create enough drag, if not life to pull the bomb back

  • Epic fail

  • It's not a bomb, it's an empty fuel tank.

  • wow... looks dangerous... what if the F/A-18 was on a strike mission, and the bomb was lifted up by the wing vortex like in this video.. won't it cause the bomb to hit somewhere else other than the intended spot/target?...

  • why did the missile go up anyway ? this could be dangerous to the plane itself even if the other fighter wasn't there...

  • It was a bomb, not a missile....

  • Comment removed

  • Thats not caused anyones stupidity but the A-4 pilot...

he was far to close, he should have known that the tip vortext from his wing would lift the bomb inot it at that distance

  • With the A-4 rolling and pitching like that those guys must have gotten smashed to hell in that cockpit before they ejected.

  • wow someone upstairs liked him

  • quit being so insensitive stupid bambi kicking banfaces! how would you like if this happened to you or one of your friends? seriously, you are the fail, not this video

  • OMG that pilot must me the happiest man in the world

  • EPIC FAIL!

  • ohh my fucking good !!!!!! noobs

  • Leave it too the fucking Navy...

  • to*

  • No its actually too as to means towards.

Leave it towards the navy? Nah...

  • Don't know if you're familiar to the English language, but to is the correct word for the sentence ... Look it up, thanks.

  • yeah stupid ass navy...have airforce or army.

  • @RynoBGood there not stupid if there landing planes on moving carriers.

  • probably the ordnance was caught by the drafting wind of the chase plane... somehow, dragged the bomb towards the rear of the plane...

  • If only jumbo jets (commercial airplanes) have ejector seats. That way, if a jumbo jet has a problem, the pilot can just eject everyone, and drive the plane into the ocean or something.

  • Stunt pilots??!!!!!! fuckin moron!!!! They are Navy test pilots!!!!

  • HOLY SHIT they have amazing reflexes and strength to pull the handle when the plane's basically exploding!!!! i am glad they livd to see another day! 5 stars

  • Now that's what you call some rotten luck.

However, in his bad luck, he was lucky.

  • WTF????

  • no. the f18 drops the bomb and the plane struck is an A4 skyhawk, Not the red arrow's plane called hawk as previously stated.

  • Is this Destroyed in Seconds or something?

  • most amazing videos

  • ok, thanks

  • That's a T4 hawk, not an F-18 =|.

For those that still don't get it, it's the same plane the Red Arrows use, just military.

  • thats a skyhawk not an F-18. what a shot 4 a dumbass who knows what he was thinking

  • It says F-18 Hornet at 0:04, and I'm pretty sure it was an F-18, I think the other plane was a Skyhawk.

  • lol ok

  • good job, asshole.

    lol.

  • This TA-4's pilots is great...

    ejact just in time...

  • Military Fail. there are your tax dollars people...

  • Umm this is why testing is done, to discover problems. This time the chase plane was just a bit too close. To uncover problems that might rear their head in combat you have to push the limit a bit.

  • yea, but in general this is wear your tax dollars go :p

  • Yep. Because if you look at the Maslow's hierarchy of needs the second item up from the bottom is security. A nation has to have security to achieve anything above basic civilization. In most cases combat aircraft help contribute to a nation's security.

  • On one level I agree with you, on another level I despise bleeding heart-feed-the-bottom-social-program politics, so I reject your view.

  • Excuse me? Where is it you are from? I ask because I actually read and understand history thank you. I want an answer.

  • Comment removed

  • Canadian, I love it. You do realize that a lot of your troops serve side-by side with ours right? Your government just bought 4 C-17's from Boeing to support operations in the middle east. As the saying goes, don't throw rocks if you live ina glass house

And it's pretty easy, 75% of the world's proven oil reserves are under 5 countries, 4 of which are in the Middle East. That's why the Soviets funded proxy wars there in the 70's and 80's and we're there now.

  • Comment removed

  • Well then our Pres is doing the right thing by trying to reduce our dependance huh? Oh BTW you realize that Canada is also a huge oil exporter and has a strong influence on the worldwide price.

In your case the Canadian troops I got to serve with were courageous and competent, and I feel bad that they defend (and I defend your counterparts here in the US) people like you in Canada.

Those men and women deserve better than that.

  • shocked...

  • im sorry for saying but................

    PWNED

  • At 0:28, it looks like the pylon is still attached to the ordnance. Did the pylon itself release instead of it releasing the bomb? Is that what caused it to not drop the way it normally would?

  • I'am glad someone else noticed that. Its that ejector rack that holds 2 bombs on the pylon that is still attached. Funny everyone thinks its some kind of vacum that caused it.

  • Comment removed

  • OH MY FUCKING GOD

  • That is so unlucky...

    What are the chances?

  • You are truely retarded.

  • The sudden shock of that would be incredible, I'm amazed that they got out.

  • just before release, do you see him shout out 'CATCH !!!!!" :)

  • how on earth the survive that one ?

  • early model F/A18 and a A4m model.....this must have been about thirty years ago

  • no it wasn't, this was a test run of a full loaded F 18 SUPER HORNET, during it's test program, so not 30 years ago at all, I saw this footage on an episode of Test Pilots on the discovery channel, eventhough the chase plane had been around for a while, the hornet is one of 7 superhornet test planes used to get the type production ready.

  • they survived!

    jeeez! how!? lol

  • somebody has already said this but 'll say it again JESUS CHRIST

  • Incredible. Cant believe the pilots got out !!

  • lol this is from the program "most shocking"

  • if u look this up on other videos what really happend here was it was a test bomb filled with concret and the one plane was only 200 feet away and above the other one and it created a wind tunnel effect and the bomb test bomb was sucked upwards now when doing test the planes have to be 500 meets and more away so that this doesnt happen

  • awsome clip

  • a couple mil down the drain...

  • why would they shoot down their own plane on purpose with people inside you must be crazy. This is cool though. I had laways thought 250 pound bombs would blow the plane up immediately. looks like the damage is much lss than i thought. unless the bomb didn't explode just kncoked th plane's wing off.

  • they could have been testing the launch with a dummy

  • he did it on purpose, guided the bomb with laser on him lol

  • wow they survived!!! it's skills that make them the best

  • LOL

  • im sure the hornet pilot was grounded

  • duh it was probably a heatseeking missel

  • feeeeel!!!(Greek expression)!!

  • omg!!!!!!1

  • the pilots really $hit their pants there.

  • Whoa, those dudes in the A-4 where lucky. They timed their ejects damn good!

  • Thats true!

  • only americans would manage to drop a bomb on there own plane

  • And only a dimbulb like you would fail to employ proper capitalization and spelling...

  • says the person who started a sentence with the word "And"

  • Comment removed

  • Your intelligence shows otherwise

  • What will happen id two hornets were flying on above the other and the one at the bottom ejects the pilot and the pilot smashes into the hornet above.

  • the pilot would probably die....

  • Lol.. That would be so dumb. xP

  • i waould laugh

  • nice

  • the pilot is very lucky

  • WHOA!

  • crazy fucks

  • crazy pilots

  • PHEW LUCKY HE EJECTED

  • lol at people talking shit about dumb asians and blacks, and the next video i see this. Everyone is the same. all idiots! lol

  • go u.s.a. fuck a hating coward bitch :)

america is number 1! dont 4get it fool lol

  • yeah america is number ! they shoot boats with apaches and bomb their own planes yay !

  • That was.......AMAZING excellent,

change of skiddies after that i think

  • fuck thats a story to tell your grand children

  • They were doing a TER (triple ejection rack) jettison test with a 250 pounder attached to the center rail. The A-4 was there to record the event on video. A combination of the Hornet's wake turbulance and the TER's aerodynamic fairings acting as airfoils cause the whole shebang to tumble laterally into the Skyhawk's wing insted of dropping strait down.

  • they test these things out dont they?

they must know a safe distance to stay behind to how far the bomb needs to clear the air craft ............ glad they ejected tho =)

  • did the guy eject?

  • no need to answer now that i've seen it

  • the same phrase is said every time on that show. "Then DISASTER!!"

  • we where just celebrating winning an award for this show ..........when disaster

  • acctualy yes! Im positive that's it!

  • i'm not sure, but if you check 0:29/0:30

...is that a launcher or hooks (or whatever is called the part that holds the bomb attached to the wing) still attached on the bomb??? If so, then no wonder it went completely out of balistic.

  • i bet they had a fist discusion afterwards

  • The pilot in the chase plane survived, becuase the bomb was filled with bricks instead of explsives.

  • wow doesnt suprise me sum hick behind that pivot

  • I'm sure they felt that one in the morning.
