It's difficult to recognise the religion Kailash Kher belongs to. His songs are heavily Islamic and he is apparently inspired by Sufi music. Kher and Singh may be popular, significant names in Sikhism, but these (and others) are not strictly Sikh names - those names preexisted Sikhism. I read somewhere that he is Kashmiri Pandit - most Kashmiris in general are Muslims, but most Kashmiri Pandits (though a minority) are Hindus, so I'm sure Kailash Kher, or at least his family is Hindu.

Kailash Kher is a Sikh, but I believe he has had a lot of Sufi influences in his life...particularly if you look at his songs, you would find striking similarities with poems of Kabira...and he also has a tinge of Mirabai(a Hindu Queen who fell for Lord Krishna) in a few of his songs...his music is basically spiritual and often highly linked with God even though the videos draw out romantic meanings.
