Haha I can't believe all of you are talking about Village Station and Lizard Lounge- Kick ass! I used to go all the time and saw DJ Icey play at Lizard Lounge twice ...good times
@ DeepGarageHead, i think who you're referring to that worked at Oak Lawn Records was Mikey! He spun at the Village on Wed. nites and he was extremely cool and would play my requests!!!! He was my personal DJ! :-D Good times for sure, i damn miss them.
THAT WAS SO AWESOME! My friend's & I would BLAST this song in the car when we were heading out for a night of hardcore dancing. Eeek, gives me a bit of the flashbacks...where is my blow pop? :)
OMG!!! I SOOOOOOO remember THE WAVE quite fondly! it was in those days we couldn't get into VIllage Station until 2:15! i remember people always falling into the pool or being pushed! after village started letting 18 and up in, The Wave just shut down... so sad..
omg! Village Station used to be my place! before it was Station 4! unfortunately i don't live in tx anymore! i won't even be living in the united states anymore in a few months. will be living in germany for the next few yrs.... but yeah, this song was the shit back in dallas at village station and lizard lounge!
VERY impressed that you know village and lizard scrounge! i sure miss those days of standing in line to get into the Village. Disco on Sunday nights, too. And you can't forget the legendary Wave!
Village was FIERCE. The music was friggin' amazing there in early 90s. That one DJ there that worked at Oak Lawn during the day - the bald kid with the tuft at the front of his head - was mind-blowing on the decks. The smoke stacks, the Sears building, Lizard Lounge, 2826, SOA, Village, and especially Aqualounge (Rob Vaughn!), and on and on, those were amazing times. I can't even begin to count the number of old Edgeclub tapes I have. And I'm NEVER getting rid of any them. Not a single one! :)
this was my SHIT back in the day! still is! bought this cd a few times and had it stolen both times! i expressed this to dj icee on myspace and asked him how much he would charge for just this single. he asked for my email and sent it for free! HE IS AWESOME!!!
There was an awesome bar called the Village Station that would rock this cut back when it came out. Tricks Theme introduced me to DJ Icey...been hooked since. My fave style of music is breaks...so there ya go.
I remember dancing to this at Buzz too! Scott Henry played it next to last on July 4th (Metalheadz Invade Party)...was a little old by then, but ROCKED the house. memories.......
i sure do...went a few times...also, parties...my first Baltimore party was a new years 94 called Resolutions....it was amazing...I came across a record years ago and a song on it was called "Welcome to Baltimore".....the sound totally summed up that ere......Baltimore was the place to be......great memories
Resolution was an early Ultraworld party. I might have been there too. I seem to remember DJ Sun playing a track right at midnight that had the place going banana's!!!! Adam X ripped it that night too...
