- Flying low is not bad but if you're going against a good enemy chopper and they have the -high it's going to be tough because their gunner a good shot on you unless your pilot is really good -at maneuvering out of that predicament.
-If you constantly get locked on, most likely there's either a javelin squad with a SOFLAM or a tank team with a CITV and guided shells. Try and find them and take them out as soon as possible.

This advice is retarded. I don't know why you think flying low isn't standard but anyone using chopper as AA is an idiot. Their not made to take out jets. Secondly, your gunner shoulnd't be flaring, thats your job and you should use ECM instead. A good pilot will know when to pop ECM, get down real low and evade locks for a recharge while gunner cleans up. Gunner should use something more productive instead.

@DrKaruke first he said he hadn't unlocked ECM yet, second if you are both rocking flares then having both eyes ready to pop them at a moments notice is not the worst idea. the havoc is really slow at turning which i hate but sticking to the trees really isent effective jets do have beam scanning u know? and not to mention "air radar" sometimes peoples incompatance to undersatnding what "LOCK" means
@likeablockful hey man try changing your buttom layout. I fly both choppers and jets on legacy, its alot easier to fly for me, because legacy is the equivalent to default in bad company 2.

wait i have a question: When i level up my Attack chopper it says gunner and piolet. If your the piolet then you choose what the gunner has or does the gunner have what he have unlocked?
@iliketacos289 The gunner has only what he unlocked and what HE choose. The unlocks that you choose effects only you- either your pilot unlocks that will be given to you if you're the pilot, or the gunner unlocks if you're the gunner.
in noshahr canals there are those little choppers there were two people on the chopper one flying it and one repair in it but in mid air i dont know if its a glitch but every time he got hit he just simply fly away while being repair i only manage to take him out once.then i raped the same guy on metro going 36 to 5 told him he sucks with out his heli
@pivot1004 its not a glitch, this tacticn came from older BF games and it's very effective.

One tip that I would like to add is to always reload after you make a pass. Occasionally in your video you were searching for targets with 2/14 rockets, if you actually found a tank or something those 2 rockets wouldn't of caused much damage.
by pressing the select button you will spot the enemy target you are aiming at and they will remain a red dot on the map and screen for a short period of time but they cannot be locked on to buy lock on weapons the whole team will see them on the map and on there screens
How to increase your chances to score a hit with heat seekers against flares - when you have a lock, fire the first missile only. This will make the enemy drop flares. As soon as the flares dissipate fire the second missile. This will most likely guarantee a hit. Don't fire both missiles at once since they'll just both get deflected by the flares.
Another good tip would be that when you are playing conquest you can hover (if your good enough) over the enemy flag and help capture it. Kind of risky though because you make for an easy target just hovering there...
@mrt109ify I've done that a few times and it works great if no ones around. Not sure about this but I think the Capturing speed is twice as fast if you do it in a chopper. If not, it sure seems like it, lol.
1 of the shittest tips and tricks ive seen... flying lower 2 the ground not only runs the risk of hitting stuff it doesn't help ur gunner... i run with flares as pilot and IR as gunner it works fine if you know how 2 actually play...
one thing ive been owning enemies with is in golf of oman and using the american f-35 jets. because of its unique ability to have its engine rotate so it may hover, you go to the russian side and land your jet on the end of the runway. each time an ennemie tries to depart you shoot him down with your belt turret not letting him leave and getting kills.
youre doing wrong, you lock on the enemy and NOT shoot for 5 seconds, 95% of the time the idiot pops his flair for no reason at all the other 5% will not do this, so you shoot 1 rocket so he can pop it, after that you just lock on again and shoot the bastard.
i have been doing this past 2 months and no1 is smart enough to figure this out.
god i wish i had a capture card. i would turn BF3 into a pro douchebag.

@Mrcreations515 stay away from tanks when you're getting locked and always try to sneak up on it from behind it and try to get all your rocket pods into it, this should kill it. the reason they hit you so easily is because they have the CITV, which is similar to a soflam but it is for the tanks guided shell.

@personpeoplehime ehh,not exactly. to get spotting bonus points, use the MAV. the SOFLAM laser designates and if someone has a stinger, igla or javelin locked on a vehicle, air or ground, they wont be able to escape it even with flares because they're laser designated.
yes its a failed mechanic, if you laze targets, no-one will destroy it, and if you are equipped for lazer missiles, no-one is targeting. it only works when playing with friends, and even then it isn't worth the points, even though its perfect teamwork.

Best thing you can do as the pilot, is to cap flag, spot enemies for gunner, and stay still on a low position so your gunner does the rest of the job, only use the pod rockets to get ground vehicles or to blow up cover, help your gunner to get rid of ground enemies

What you are missing as the number 1 task to do as a pilot. It is the GUNNER who are supposed to kill soldiers on the ground, And moving around constantly with a low proflie and the nose low, doesn't make it any easier for him
For anyone trying to learn how to fly choppers, do not watch this video! The guy in the video not only cannot fly for shit, he is clearly playing on the dominating team. His tips are mostly wrong or don't apply to an experienced pilot.
I hate it when team mates take a jet or a large capacity heli and get to some spot just to ditch it. On wake island 2 ppl did this so the enemy team ended up have two f35 and two flankers, plus an attack helicopter so that game wasn't fun :(

There's a difference between the Havoc and the Viper
Viper: It's quicker to turn and manuever up and down
Havoc: Much faster going straight and curving around targets with ease
They're both balanced, if you can't use those to each chopper's advantage, well you just can't pilot attack choppers, no offence, but you do

1 of the shittest tips and tricks ive seen... flying lower 2 the ground not only runs the risk of hitting stuff it doesn't help ur gunner... i run with flares as pilot and IR as gunner it works fine if you know how 2 actually play...

one thing ive been owning enemies with is in golf of oman and using the american f-35 jets. because of its unique ability to have its engine rotate so it may hover, you go to the russian side and land your jet on the end of the runway. each time an ennemie tries to depart you shoot him down with your belt turret not letting him leave and getting kills.

youre doing wrong, you lock on the enemy and NOT shoot for 5 seconds, 95% of the time the idiot pops his flair for no reason at all the other 5% will not do this, so you shoot 1 rocket so he can pop it, after that you just lock on again and shoot the bastard.
i have been doing this past 2 months and no1 is smart enough to figure this out.
god i wish i had a capture card. i would turn BF3 into a pro douchebag.
doesnt matter much considering every1 keeps stealing my kits/tactics anyway

@xXPureEvilXx101 wow i found some else who is pretty smart in a heli and if u have xbox (ik i wish i had ps3 tho) i would love to play with cuz i have every unlock for the heli and i can go 30-0 in a match and on average 24-6 ( cuz of idoits who don't know how to fly) and i usually am a gunner cuz i can fly but not well...

@Mrcreations515 stay away from tanks when you're getting locked and always try to sneak up on it from behind it and try to get all your rocket pods into it, this should kill it. the reason they hit you so easily is because they have the CITV, which is similar to a soflam but it is for the tanks guided shell.

@personpeoplehime No, spotting simply shows everyone where the target is. Designating the target allows for easy lock on with Javelins, and other guided missiles.

@personpeoplehime ehh,not exactly. to get spotting bonus points, use the MAV. the SOFLAM laser designates and if someone has a stinger, igla or javelin locked on a vehicle, air or ground, they wont be able to escape it even with flares because they're laser designated.

yes its a failed mechanic, if you laze targets, no-one will destroy it, and if you are equipped for lazer missiles, no-one is targeting. it only works when playing with friends, and even then it isn't worth the points, even though its perfect teamwork.

Best thing you can do as the pilot, is to cap flag, spot enemies for gunner, and stay still on a low position so your gunner does the rest of the job, only use the pod rockets to get ground vehicles or to blow up cover, help your gunner to get rid of ground enemies

What you are missing as the number 1 task to do as a pilot. It is the GUNNER who are supposed to kill soldiers on the ground, And moving around constantly with a low proflie and the nose low, doesn't make it any easier for him

I hate it when team mates take a jet or a large capacity heli and get to some spot just to ditch it. On wake island 2 ppl did this so the enemy team ended up have two f35 and two flankers, plus an attack helicopter so that game wasn't fun :(
