He’s been known to have practice players flown to him in Dubai where he will train with them for 4-5 hours straight, literally until his “opponent” hits the floor.
There’s a reason you barely ever see him sweat in a match.
why basketball and football and soccor as we americans say is so popular is its easy to play at a beginners level with a degree of fun. any kid can shoot a basketball with some degree of skill from the get go or kick a ball into a net or run or catch a football. so those are popular schoolyard games . and those that are good get better and people admire them cause they relate to playing that sport. harder skill sports usually involving small ball traveling at faster speeds take more time t learn

For example, if any tennis player goes out to play some football or b-ball, assuming they know how to play, the tennis players will be able to play the sport at a fairly competitive level. However, if you put Johnson or Kobe on a tennis court, guarantee they will look awkward

@Edu2503 dude serenas fastests serves are like 120mph thats like average for men. its not bc shes a woman... its because of the differences between men and women as far as strengh goes. besides if u think about it she plays female players. that means she is used to return slower serves,rallies, etc. And the ATPs level right now is higher than the WTAs. look how consistant ATP is same 3 guys win everything. in WTA theres many GS champs.
@foreverguga they dont serve second serves as fast at all. 110-120ish mph was sampras' range. most (if not all) of the pros' second serves today are 95-105ish mph. and second serves are certainly dangerous if they have speed on them. why do you think that sampras won so much? and to be honest, most players who serve kickers are just starting the point nowadays. players just chip a return and the point begins.
I don't think you can say that Feds' second serve is just a way to start a point. Sampras had a faster 2nd serve indeed. I don't know the numbers but Karlovic and Isner must serve bigger because they strike the ball at a much higher point. Overall they are much worse players though. Everybody has his favourites and no one can compare legends.

Commentators on sport channel made a documentary about Men and women tennis.. they said that if Serena or Venus were playing in the Men tournaments, they would be ranked 500-600. Not being sexist or anything, but if women and men were at the same level, I'm sure you'd see Men against women in any competition, thinks about the aloympics.

The Williams sisters, in their primes, were amazing tennis players by any measure. But overall womens tennis is far behind mens tennis for sure, but there are still some good players/matches around.
@brawlaccount Men's tennis has seen some of the biggest names we're likely to ever see in the past 20 years or so. Women's tennis on the other hand is currently lacking the talent it used to have. But it's not best 2nd serve of all time. That would go to Sampras. And no, a faster 2nd serve doesn't mean a superior 2nd serve. Sampras's 2nd serve was the best due to it's overall effectiveness. He had better placement, control, spin, speed, confidence, performed better under pressure, and could even pull out aces if he felt like going for it.

@Edu2503 dude serenas fastests serves are like 120mph thats like average for men. its not bc shes a woman... its because of the differences between men and women as far as strengh goes. besides if u think about it she plays female players. that means she is used to return slower serves,rallies, etc. And the ATPs level right now is higher than the WTAs. look how consistant ATP is same 3 guys win everything. in WTA theres many GS champs.

eh not the best second serve i've ever seen. Pete Sampras' second serve was definetly the best. I once saw him hit a second serve at 121 mph.

@foreverguga they dont serve second serves as fast at all. 110-120ish mph was sampras' range. most (if not all) of the pros' second serves today are 95-105ish mph. and second serves are certainly dangerous if they have speed on them. why do you think that sampras won so much? and to be honest, most players who serve kickers are just starting the point nowadays. players just chip a return and the point begins.

I don't think you can say that Feds' second serve is just a way to start a point. Sampras had a faster 2nd serve indeed. I don't know the numbers but Karlovic and Isner must serve bigger because they strike the ball at a much higher point. Overall they are much worse players though. Everybody has his favourites and no one can compare legends.
I'm a huge fan of Gustavo Kuerten. Loved his serve too

Commentators on sport channel made a documentary about Men and women tennis.. they said that if Serena or Venus were playing in the Men tournaments, they would be ranked 500-600. Not being sexist or anything, but if women and men were at the same level, I'm sure you'd see Men against women in any competition, thinks about the aloympics.

@brawlaccount well come on now, I wouldn't say it's a joke! I mean Kim Clijster's is a great player. Justine Henin's backhand is one of the best in tennis regardless of gender. The Williams sisters, in their primes, were amazing tennis players by any measure. But overall womens tennis is far behind mens tennis for sure, but there are still some good players/matches around.

@brawlaccount Men's tennis has seen some of the biggest names we're likely to ever see in the past 20 years or so. Women's tennis on the other hand is currently lacking the talent it used to have. Women's tennis is not a joke though. Many of them could be quite competitive with the top 20 on the men's side.

This is the best 2nd serve...of Federer's that is.
But it's not best 2nd serve of all time. That would go to Sampras. And no, a faster 2nd serve doesn't mean a superior 2nd serve. Sampras's 2nd serve was the best due to it's overall effectiveness. He had better placement, control, spin, speed, confidence, performed better under pressure, and could even pull out aces if he felt like going for it.

And I'd agree that Sampras had a better second serve but only because he could get more free points from it. In terms of placement, spin, control and performance under pressure you can't fault Roger (pun intended :-). I mean how often do you see him double fault?

If he never had his first serve, he would almost struggle to be a club player (thats ment to be funny if you think im bering serious :) ), someone like krychek (bad spelling) was unbelievable, or roddick.....
