  • Hare Krsna Hare Rama! Jai!

  • And you eat beef, assholes!

  • @lukecannington The Taste of Music is so selective even on a personal level, that a song one hears late night might not charm you the next morning. So publicising your loathe to Indian Music is a bit childish. You can keep it happily to yourself. On that note, I am a big addict to Nickelback and attend their concerts every year..and as much I would love to go psychedelic to Kula Shaker sometime..Live. Screw them...Kyuss is what I want RIGHT NOW !! Told you..the Taste of Music is Selective ;-)

  • @ThePryda So it's ok for you to post your opinion, but I cant because it isnt the same as yours?Thats what the comments are for, so peoplecan have a discussion. You can keep your opinions to yourself. (BTW this song is still shit and I wont give it anymore views responding to self-righteous asshats.)

  • @lukecannington That's right, you're not allowed to post your opinion here no matter what it is or what it relates to. Try it again and you'll know about it *shakes fist*.

  • @lukecannington The only thing that I wouldnt do is to express my hatred of a genre of music public. If I wouldnt like it..I would just not visit the page..let alone commenting on it. So I hope you could get my point and able to see the subtelness between being respectful vs free will. Let Shanti be showered upon everyone of us !

  • Nice to see other cultures embrace other cultures and bring them forth into main stream music. There needs to be more of this.

  • @MsButterscotchDragon So your nick suggests you are a Scot who embraces Chinese culture ? ;-) Cheers !

  • Universally acknowledged as one of the best 250 albums of all time. I've just bought it...again...the first copy got lost in the scramble between then and now.

  • los kula shaker son hare krishna?

  • Trascendental, magnifico

  • Didn't realise this was a cover until now, loved this album when I was younger.

  • @1plutoway A cover by whom my good man?

  • @gringolazlo The lyric phrase was used in George Harrison's "Govinda Jaya Jaya" song way back when - even more way back than this song

  • lol @ the Nickleback/Richard Cheese argument going on.. Music is all about personal taste, what one person likes you'll find several others who dislike and visa versa..

168,560 views - 987 likes - 9 dislikes = 1%. Working on that percentage there has been almost 1700 people here listening to this that didn't like it?

Happily I'm not one of them.. listen to the music or find something else to do. don't bicker over crap.

  • @misspopanoche True music is about taste but some people have poor taste (like those that like this song). Obviously the people who dont like the song arent going to seek it on youtube so there naturally are few dislikes.

  • @lukecannington Says the kid who recently added 'West End Girls' by The Pet Shop Boys to his favourites... hahahahaa

  • Que produção fantástica!!!!!!

  • 9 muslims didnt like the song LOL

  • the only thing i like about Hinduism is those hindu girls. They are always horny for kinky stuffs

  • गोविंदा जया जया गोपाल जया जया राधा रमण हरि गोविंदा जया जया

  • @ADAMROCKS5 ???/

  • @folladordeprostis Its the lyrics to the song, written in Hindi.

  • I'm sure he's talking about my dad.

  • A heads up to George Harrison I think ? And it works

  • Luv this <3

  • @brettbramham I don't really want to get into any arguments but shouldn't that be 'your grammar and spelling are shit'?

  • good

  • i love this song... god bless all the ones who worked on this :)

  • this is the dumbest shit ivever heard

  • @lukecannington Your grammar and spelling is shit! Fool!

  • @lukecannington HAHAHAHAHAHA! Let me guess! Nickelback fan?

  • @Devildance1234 I don't mind Nickleback. They aren't my favourite but they aren't a bunch of rich kids that think they're mystical because they copied a sanskrit prayer word for word and put some shitty music to it. Nickelback writes their own songs. I'm actually from the same Province as Nickelback and they probably take more flack here than anywhere else, never understood why. I don't listen to them in my spare time but if one of their tunes comes on at the bar I get into it.

  • @lukecannington That's part of the appeal here...it's a traditional, ancient song but if you've heard the original this is an entirely unique treatment of the song. That's tough to pull off, people like Richard Cheese who take thrash metal and make lounge versions, that takes a LOT of skill, to take an ancient mantra and turn it into a rock tune, that's borderline brilliant. And Nickelback, they don't "suck" they just are boring beyond belief, complete cookie cutters.

  • @ZarathustrasCrown uh, no. anybody can do what richard cheese does. with regards to this 'song', taking some hindu bullshit that he heard from his vacation to india and putting it to shitty music is not brilliant, it is fucking retarded.

  • @lukecannington Yeah, covering a song is only for total losers...Jimi Hendrix once covered Johnny B. Goode...what a talentless hack. The fact that you honestly think that anyone can do what Richard Cheese does gives a pretty solid picture as to how well you understand fundamental musical theory...

  • @ZarathustrasCrown jimi hendrix is more known for his original music than his covers (though all along the watchtower is a cover) . richard cheese only has covers. and they are shitty covers thst i find insulting to the original artist. the fact that you like richard cheese and this piece of crap song (which is basically one long, shitty jam in d with very few lyrics) gives me a solid understanding of your knowledge of music theory.

  • @lukecannington They're not a bunch of "rich kids" attempting to appear "mystical". I assure you that Nickelback is much richer and successful because they've conformed to the constraints of mainstream pop music. Crispian Mills (The lead singer) is actually Hindu. He is not trying to appear mystic, he's practicing what he preaches. And to say that it is shitty music is ignorant. You don't have to like it, but they're extremely talented and will step outside the box. Maybe Nickelback should try.

  • @Devildance1234 lol, this reply is hilarious. the lead singers parents were in show business and i'm sure they funded his 'pilgramages' to india. nickelback are more succesful because they are better and write better songs. and i can call it shitty because it is shitty. it goes nowhere and just repeats. at least tatva had kind of a pop-beatles sound. this is just bullshit.

  • @lukecannington It is becoming apparent that you are an idiot. In another comment you claim to be somewhat knowledgable of music theory and then state that Nickelback is a good band. Hypocrisy. Secondly if you knew something about theory, you would know that a lot of Indian Music is based around a drone (hopefully you know what that is) and that would be why this song is very centered around the note D. And lastly, money has nothing to do with it. Nickelback is shit, Kula Shaker is not.

  • @Devildance1234 "It is becoming apparent that you are an idiot" may very well be one of the funniest opening lines to a perfectly executed vitriol I've ever had the pleasure of reading, I applaud you sir.

  • @Devildance1234 Why would you even waste you energy conversing with someone references "nickelback"..it's like arguing with a priest about sexual positions...your music debating rights are unequivocally revoked if you reference "Nickelback"...it's the new internet law...I have spoken!!

  • @dagnut I wasnt the one who brought up nickleback. Though if I was in hell and my punishment was an eternity of Nickelback or an eternity of Kula Shakr I would choose Nickelback.

  • @lukecannington It is becoming apparent that you are an idiot. In another comment you claim to be somewhat knowledgable of music theory and then state that Nickelback is a good band. Hypocrisy. • @Devildance1234 Thanks for the info, slick. I didn't know that about Indian music, mostly because I despise it and find it excruciating to listen to. As bad as it is its much worse when some English trust fund losers try to duplicate it.

  • Jai Govinda....Jai sree Krishna...Hari Om

  • My name is Govind. no, for real :)

  • It sounds combination of Indian and AIR music...

    I like it ~.^

  • thumbs up if u smoke a joint at this song

  • jai govindaa

  • IMPRESSIVE SONG!!AMAZING THE HARMONY OF THE MUSIC!!

  • Great tune. But don't understand how they made that video, the local health and safety executive would have had a heart attack, volts + water = danger, danger, high voltage.

  • Great song. The full version is even better!

  • Govinda Jaya! Gopal Jaya!

  • Stil makes the hairs crawl on my neck, loved the track right from the start, soooo good still, just like Tattva

  • YES

  • he say at the beginning ' go find a vagina vagina' ?

  • @malkavianrising After listening to it for a few times, you will actually hear the right words. Yeah, the name of Krishna is just that awesome; is such a purifier! ;)

  • My cousins are in this video!!

  • हरे कृष्ण हरे राम पादा पादा हरे हरे

  • Heavenly song and awesome video. Best song of Kula Shaker and that is really saying something. On the album, Temple of Everlasting Light is the prelude to this and is my other favorite from KS, the 2 songs next to each other are unbelievably good.

I'm huge Oasis fan, but honestly K blows away any Oasis album, K was the best Britpop album and personally my 2nd favorite album of all time. The only reason Oasis is better than KS is because Oasis has so much more songs.

  • @XJ220RACER K was the second fastest selling UK debut album behind Definitely Maybe, hmmm wonder why?

  • @beano1eye Because there was, and still is, a lot of "chavs" that like that Beatles sound that oasis, not so discreetly, stole. Don't look back in anger and Free were the same chord structure as imagine. You wonder why? Well there is your answer.

  • @brettbramham so how many black american artists do you want me to name that The Beatles ripped off?

  • @beano1eye They were inspired by black music- but did not rip anyone off. Say want you want about the Beatles but the one thing they are not is unoriginal.

  • @beano1eye the comment was aimed at the fallen "Chav" band, NOT the Beatles. You asked why their album had sold more, and I simply answered correctly. Oasis were chavy worms. And just like worms, they split and became two. Now we are all bleeding at the ears twice as much.

  • jai this was a head banger!!!!!! hari hari......

  • i cant respect Kula Shaker enough, during the britpop phase instead of copying every other band they went their own way, im a huge Oasis fan but i think K rivals Morning Glory as the best album of the 90s

  • @nyamcz

when europe was still in the middle age, civilization was flourishing on the borders of the mesopotamia and mohendo jaro.

It beats me how some people are narrow minded.

This song is a wonderful illustration how people enrich themselves in the contact of other cultures. Great song. Still fresh after all these years

  • I love it, what are the meaning f the words.. ?

  • CHAPEAU! BEAUTIFUL!

  • Damn awsum video, one of ma favorites, used ta watch it on Mtv ten years back!

  • fase alternativa... thanks!!!

  • Happy Janmashtmi and Hare Krishna!

I have always loved this song...i will die loving this song! <3 %^#$%#$%# awesome!

  • Govinda refers to Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is a Hindu (Indian) deity.

The video shows Lord Krishna and the Gopis. And today is JANMASHTMI - Lord Krishna's day of birth. The rain in the video is also symbolic, as we Indians believe that it always rains heavily on this day.

    हरे रामा-हरे कृष्णा, हरे कृष्णा-हरे हरे

  • @Deepeshify No offence intended, but do you Indians have any meteorological data to back up your belief?

  • too short :) great song...love it

  • Saw and met them ages ago. Crispian is the sweetest guy ever, I remember kissing him on his cheeks after he had taken a shower post-show to meet the fans. He smelled so good and had such smooth skin ... weird memory of mine XD

  • @nageki oh my! <3 you are so lucky!

  • It's gonna be Janmashtmi soon (August 22). The day Indians celebrate the birth of the God incarnate Krishna and also known as Govinda . So happy Janmashtmi to all !

  • 0:52 Robert Webb's Brother maybe? :D

  • Video looks like Nirvana's 'Heart Shaped Box'

  • kula shaker..Have you forgotten how good they sound?

  • We have 7 assholes who are frustrated with their lives :P

  • 2 bkokes stayed at 'Rishikesh' in Uttarkhand, India - A Yoga & Meditation abode for about 6 months!! After which they wrere inspired to record 2 albums in English intersperesed with their instrumental insperations from Indian themes using Indian Classical Musical Instruments!! Some of their songs are insperationally intersperesed - kindda injuction in conjuction....had them on cassettes!!!

  • Looooooove iiiiiiit !!!!!!! <3 ^ ^,

  • Any band with a Sanskrit pun in its name gets my vote.

  • @boldsirrobin this time it was an 8th century king presumably from chola dynasty kula shekar....meaning pride of the clan in sanskrit

  • @TheSkirmishes Thanks for the info - I got the "kula" part but I didn't know about the king.

  • @boldsirrobin king kula shaker was thought to be the reincarnation of lord krishna and reined south india with the same galore chrispian mills picked up the name after spiritually transforming trip to india

  • One of the best songs from a brilliant band of 90´s. how could anyone forget?

  • no entiendo esta bloqueado este mensaje denunciado como material no deseado uy ofensivo...porque

    Hare Krishna!!!

  • L-O-V-E it. So pretty. Alonza Bevan is gorgeous! The fire and water idea was nice. It took me about 3 weeks to get the radha ramana hari... line down, but I'll tell ya something - now I'll always have it, How anyone can say Crispian's vice is ugly, I'll never understand. I love it.

  • It's my favorite song ever. I've listened to it for like a million times, I know every note and still it blows my mind.

  • @czerwona69sukienka It's because it is sung in gods' language :)

  • @dekoza You meen gipsy/aids/rabies/filth language?

  • @nyamcz Sanskrit is not a living language, it is the equivalent of Latin to Christianity. It is the sacred language of religions originating in India, not that you would care about such things, but I felt the need to at least attempt to educate you.
