@RIEKSONE There is no direct comparison (F1 & CCWS never raced on the same circuit), but the Panoz was easily the second fastest single seater. Altough it's not the speed itself that makes F1 expensive. It's the competition.
A real racing drivers circuit. Check out the lap by Nigel Mansell before they had paddle shift. Real shame that this classic track has dropped off world motor racings radar. F1 has done the same with Imola. Still what do we know, where only the fans after all!
Absolutely fantastic circuit! Quite reminiscent of Spa-Francorchamps. I know it'll never happen in a million years as Bernie only wants dull tracks in the middle of nowhere that pay him billions but would be awesome to have an F1 race around there...
Brilliant car. The closest America ever got to Formula 1. Why did Champ Car have to fold!?!? It was a great series, and in many ways more demanding than Formula 1.
what's the difference between the "white/gray" asphalt to the dark one? Most of the world tracks have the dark one, but in US has a lot of tracks with this white one, old talladega has and I think Miami speedway that NASCAR race had too. Anyone who knows, please...
dude, the new f1 tracks are shit. Malaysia, China, Bahrain are some of the most boring tracks ive ever seen. All as uninteresting as the hungaroring only they have more places to pass. And tarmac run off areas are bad because driver error isnt punished. When was the last time a driver died because of not having a tarmac run off area? in fact the place senna crashed did have a tarmac run off as did the place Hakkinen was almost killed. Doesnt seem to be a major safety factor as far as i can see
suzuka is the best in the world, overall. spa's eau rouge is too easy, especially in f1 car. since its been resurfaced (i think it was in 2003) every driver that goes through it can take it flat easy. not a challenge, and neither is Blanchimont - which is bad coz the rest of the circuit is brill
It is a great track, not the best in the world, as was claimed, I personally much prefer Monza and Spa Franchorchamps. And of course, Le mans, which is absolutely spectacular, and so fast. But for me, Eau Rouge and Blanchimont create an unrivalled driving challenge.
I don't think you can claim that any one track is the best in the world. They all have their personalities. That said Road America has one of the best. It may not be Eau Rouge, but name one driver that's gone through the kink and not have to hold their breath and let out a sigh of releif after its over.
What a fantastic track! I don't know if it's the best in the world (Le Mans and Spa would be the best to me), but this is definitely one of the greatest.
it funny how much cheaper these cars are and they can almost rival f1 performance while still providing more entertaining racing

Had that jackass Kevin Kalkhoven not sold out to that other jackass Tony George, Justin Wilson would have been Champ Car champion in 2008.

I've heard this rumour ever since the US GP left Indianapolis: Bernie apparently wants a street race in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, thats true. They'd most likely ruin the character of the circuit.

14 Turns 4.048 miles of pure road racing at its finest. ALL of the fmr and present Champcar drivers love that place.
