I cant get my bluetooth to work when I hold the little phone icon button. I have my bluetooth turned on my phone and in dicoverable mode and still nothing idk wht the deal is. is there a certain wire that needs to be connected when installing the console?
@HERNANDEZ22x what happens if you tap on the "DUAL BT" device under bluetooth settings on your phone? Also, if you long-press on the "DUAL BT" bluetooth device on your phone and go to options, what do you have there? If you only have "Media" checked, you will have to always tap on the "DUAL BT" device to have the phone connect to the deck. If you enable "Phone" as well, the deck should find it without having to do anything, but the downside is phone calls go through your radio..
@MegaHightechredneck yeah I do for non-HD stations. This is really my only issue with this unit. Check to see if you're actually listening to a HD station.. it should light up the HD icon on the deck. I'm guessing you're listening to a standard station, but maybe not?
@exoxe i don't have it i was just asking i was thinking about getting it but i found a Sony with a sub for $74 at Walmart and one station i listen to is in HD and don't listen to it that often
@joseph604063 you can either hold down the hd scan button and then start your search, or if your station has a HD feed as well it'll automatically tune in, but if you're in an area without any HD channels you're out of luck...
Do you feel that the audio over AUX or Bluetooth is REALLY quiet in comparison to listening to a CD or the radio? I have the same uni and to match a CD/Radio volume of 13 or 14 with bluetooth or AUX I have to turn the volume up to like 24 or 30. Any advice?
@KidKobun hey sorry for the delay! I honestly never listen to CDs, but I do remember turning the volume gain up under the Bluetooth settings, so I think we're experiencing the same thing. I usually listen to my radio in the 30-35ish range so that all sounds about right. You should be able to increase the volume gain, unless you've already done so :)
Damn, 30-35?! For CD and AM/FM I usually keep it anywhere from 15-22. 30 and up is super loud on my unit. Unless of course I am using BT or AUX, then 30+ averages out to about 20...so yeah, it does sound like we are in the same boat. ;)
Great stereo, had mine for 3 years already! Still running strong! People will talk down on it, just because it's a DUAL. But these units are CEA Compliant, and put out actual RMS. They also made the stock speakers sound better. All the DUAL haters are still stuck on their past crappy products.
Got mine for $75 about a year ago, still works great. I love the USB port as I have over 800 MP3 on my 16 gig drive, plays them without a problem, Love the blue tooth, I found that if you have the volume when talking through the BT the mic picks it up and the other party can not hear you, so just turn it down a bit if someone calls. The remote is great. Over all the best $75 I spent so far :o)
question.. have the cd player, one day i was listening to it, went into qt came out and now the light in the middle stays red and doesnt turn on? PLEAS HELP MAN
Otherwise, bluetooth connectivity (music + calls), regular AUX IN for audio, USB for power and music file access, iPod cable included that attaches to your apple device and on the other end of the cable are both AUX and USB plugs to be plugged so you can control your apple device from the head unit, HD radio, analog radio transitions to HD if it picks up a signal, you can set the specific volume when it powers on, flip down tray for CD slot, three RCA pairs for audio output, awesome look, ETC!!!
Just got this today. Fully loaded features. Trust me, one of my BEST purchases I've made, so don't take these the wrong way but...
[1] buttons are tack-tacky feeling and sounding (but i've read this will go away)
[2] I don't like how if I want to tune to the next working station, I have to hold the button for a whole second. the tack-y buttons don't help at all.
[3] learning curve. took me a while to figure out that you can't 'skip track' of bluetooth device using the head unit controls, etc
He's right about the mic, you need to speak loudly, its not that great, ppl i called said it sounded tinny, though I think this is common as a friend with bluetooth on his deck has the same sound. I love the display on the unit as it has 2 lines it uses, so you can see the folder and song title on USB or rad station and clock at the same time... Ive had mine for 2 yrs, its giving trouble now on the usb, I been use a 2gb micro SD card in a reader its nice and small, good review on BT function
@JELNENE1 Same thing happened to my install today, did you do it yourself?
If so check your wiring, Turns out mine when i crimped my Accessory(Yellow) Line I crimped it too hard and it cut the wire causing this to happen. After i fixed that mine worked like a charm, great unit
ok i got this same in dash at wal mart for 100 bucks but after it was installed every time i go over a bump it goes out when i have my ipod in the usb, also it doesn't turn off automatically with the car.. what do you think i should do?
I just got this radio seems good so far... but a tip for you i would plan out what you're gonna say and be a lil more in depth about the product it will give your video a much more rounded out feel
@KillerMadDog2010 It's the digital version of your existing over-the-air radio you're use to and it allows for better quality audio (near CD quality). It's free but you do need the required hardware to listen to it. However, this receiver has a built-in HD tuner, so you don't need an additional HD tuner like other models. I'm sure more manufacturers will have built-in tuners, but this was one of the first that did that I'm aware of.
Have this for over a year, no problems. I mostly listed to music from my 16GB flash drive. Sounds great, the screen is bright at night but reflects badly in sunlight and hard to see with sun shining on it, don't use Bluetooth. I agree with the review pretty much, it is right on. Buttons click so they are OK for me.
@mackie73 I've only tried that once or twice and I don't remember it going so well unfortunately. There is a mic pickup. I had to talk pretty loudly, but maybe I was doing something wrong.
I really like the HU but hearing alot of people saying after a few months it breaks. Also, do you need a bluetooth module sold separately for it to work like the other Dual which the face slides down? Forgot the model #
I would buy it in an instant if it was some what reliable and BT working out the box.
@ahjungkim It's still running smoothly, no problems thus far. The bluetooth stuff including HD is all built in. I didn't have to buy anything in addition to the HU. That sucks that you've heard of the unit breaking after a while but mine is indeed still thumping.
