I got a plastic uke for xmas over 60 years ago. Aloha brand, with red, green. blue and yellow strings. The strings are still fine, and the uke has better tone and volume than many prettier wooden ukes I've tried. A design masterpiece by Mario Macaferri i believe.
We who play the ukulele DO take it seriously, however there were millions of plastic ukes sold via Arthur Godfrey that non players considered a 'toy'. Thats the stereotype we've addressed. @howbah How dare they call it a toy. I must have a very expensive toy. Just like the word Aloha They think they know the Word but in order to know the word you have to LIVE IT. if u treat it like a toy than you play it like a toy.

I'm sure this is gonna have lots of great stuff in it , but ....
Hopefully in the final edit they'll ease up on the "it used to be a toy but now it's a SERIOUS instrument"
because there's ALWAYS been great players, and even more
the ukulele is as serious as you WANT it to be!
