everyone who is thinking about going on this ride but is a little scared just do it!! right as soon as you launch of there is nothing to be scared of. and when you get off you feel baller cause you went on pretty much the most intense ride in the world( screw you kingda ka fanboys, i bet its fun as heel, but its barley bigger and faster, so i bet yo dont notice the diff.) and then you have props and can say you went on it

@nixmtrix22 Actually, Kinga Ka is NOT as fun.it vibrates like hell & the OTSR TOTALLY RUIN the ride. It may be taller and faster...but it cannot hold a candle to our beloved Dragster. Two totally different experiences...Dragster is the best...and far more intense (in the best way possible). You CANNOt notice the difference in speed or height...it's minisule. Dragster is the best

Cedar Point wins, and this coaster is the closest you'll get to drag racing (a little toned down, but still awesome) on a roller coaster. 0-120 MPH in 3.7 seconds, no lift chain, just plain awesomeness!!

This is the BADDEST RIDE in the park!! Last year we rode 3x's in a row, middle, back and front seats. May and September, weekdays are the best times to go. Wait in lines are approximately 15 minutes.

Don't sit in the front of the train -- sit in the front seat OF THE LAST CAR.

With roller coasters in general -- including Top Thrill Dragster -- the back-most car is the best place to be seated because there you get maximum pull over the hill.

Not on all coasters. I agree with you on steel coasters sit in the back. On wood I usally sit in the front. Only exception was when I rode shivering timbers rode it in the back.

Although many people like the view in the front more, in terms of ride experience it actually makes the ride LESS intense, because the train "hangs" as it goes over the hill.

When I went to Cedar Point in 2008, I rode this ride 10 times -- 2 in the front and 8 in the back.

I noticed that:

When you ride in the front, you usually experience no airtime at all.

When you ride in the back, you experience some airtime even if the train just barely makes it over the hill.

Also, Top Thrill Dragster -- as well as Millennium Force, Maverick, and most other modern roller coasters -- is designed so that all riders have a good view.

Personally, I actually think it's cool seeing the rest of the train in front of you -- as well as everything else.

Also, it's fun to look to the side some of the time during the ride. If you look to the side while riding Top Thrill Dragster, it feels like you're on a jetliner on a runway.

there are 3 rides like this not many people now 1=ttd 2=kk. the thired is in south wales,and is by far the best its called the water shoot,after comeing over the top hat,u come down and into water..its the bomb!!! its the same hight and speed as kk but with water on the comedown and after the slowdown hump wich is 200 ft...so put that in your pipe and smoke it...

Well that's because a lot of TTD fans say that just cuz KK is a few mph faster and 36 ft higher doesn't make it better cuz TTD has better restraints, theming and was the original, and they are always bashing Kingda Ka. Seriously, go on a TTD video and say the following line "Kingda Ka is so much fuckin better." You will make a lot of friends. :) IMO KK is better but don't flame me for it.

This ride is cool, but it would have been awesome had they built some other hills after the main hill. Also, it would have been cool had they been able to keep the big wheels on the back so the trains still looked like a dragster -- but the weight was too much and they had to take them off.

I've read that the big wheels were removed because of the "wheel incident".

There IS one advantage to those wheels being removed: It allows for 2 more riders per train -- which increases the ride's capacity.

That music is FAR better and would drive first-time riders crazy.

I remember the first time I went on that ride. Right before the ride began I was talking and then the ride began while I was talking and O my gosh!!! My mouth was sooo dry at the end of the ride. Ha ha ha !!!!!!

BUT I LOVED THAT RIDE. ALL OF YOU WHO WANT TO GO BUT AFRAID, DON'T BE THIS RIDE IS REALLY FUN!!!

Actually because of the fact that TTD broke down so often and only 200,000 people were able to ride the first year and just over double that the second year of opperation the CEO of Cedar Fair said it was he worst financial move ever to build TTD.
