Car 186 is not a Brill, She was built by the St. Louis Car Co in 1913 for DR&T co, although we do have a Brill safety car in our collection also the reason you can not hear the grinding noise is that the cars originally had maximum traction trucks but since none of these were available during her restoration she was equipped instead with Melbourne type B truck.
This streetcar is an old Brill car. Somehow someone took out the beautiful gear-grinding noise that once came with these. But overall it's a pretty sight to see these. Anybody who steps on these are really taking a field trip back in time. Back when automobiles were being introduced, they were very hard to drive because they were stick shift and no power steering. Dallas has these in different shapes, sizes and colors which makes the line look really pretty!
