I know Janet originally dedicated this song to all the friends in her life she lost to HIV/AIDS. However, this song reminds me of my mother who suddenly passed away shortly after The Velvet Rope was released. I miss her so much and all I hope is that I make her proud to be my mom. You just cannot listen to this song and somehow turn it into your own personal dedication to someone you've lost for whatever reason(s).
