I actually love it when you can recognise certain parts of one soundtrack in another - if you listen carefully to Star Wars and Harry Potter, both composed by John Williams, then you can hear similarities there too!
For the people who say that Hans Zimmer used some parts of Pirates of the Caribbean for this: not at all! In fact, he used parts of Gladiator in Pirates of the Caribbean :-P - Gladiator is from 1999, you know, and PotC from 2003...
some wonderful comments about Hanz Zimmers movie scores, im in totally agreement,,,,,,,,,,but!!!!when u actually sit in an orchestra and play it,,,,,,,,,,,,,itsd REALLY AWESOME,,,,,,,,,im a bass trombone player,,,,,,,and he writes real meaty parts for the brass section.
Same person made it. Hanz Zimmer. He also made batman, The musketeer, Gladiator, and Pirates of the Carribean. Point made he is one of the best composers of all time!
This music was composed from the same music composer as pirates of the carribean. They liked it and thought it would go well with pirates so they changed it a little and used it
Not only does it sound like it, but Gustav Holst's (composer of the Planets) family sued Hans Zimmer for infringing upon their intellectual property - and won!
haha nice...i mean come one, its obvious that this piece has some parts of "mars". And a lot of his compositions sound the same. Like the rock and pirates of the carribean...but thats just me. yes or no
Im so happy my marching band is playing this the upcoming fall and we already have he music. its going to sound so good. thanks for posting thisvideo btw. its the only one I found thats the right version :o
This music sounds very similar to the movies that everyone is talking about..like The Rock and Pirates of the Carribean...but if you compare it to the other movies, its different. Its just composed by the dame guy.
The next thing is, that Klaus Badelt composed the music for Pirates of the Carribean... You know who that is??? I think not, because KB learned everything from Hans Zimmer (composed the music for Gladiator) :P
Klaus Badlet composed the music for pirates of the carribean 1, the curse of the black pearl. But Hans Zimmer did dead mans chest and world's end. however, he stole half of Badelt's themes :p
in writing for sequels, composers often write "sequels" of the music that appeared in the first film. sometimes they make it more fitting (darker for POTC 2 + 3) and change the time to fit a scene. it's open and honest, and is often the best approach, along with writing original music. "stole" is perhaps a strong word.
Actually Zimmer came up with most of those themes for the first POTC but was under contract for another movie and wasn't allowed to be credited in POTC.
to bad Gladiator was made in 2000 and the first Pirates of the Caribbean was made in 2003 i believe, so if anything the creators of pirates stole from Gladiator
Hans Zimmer often incorporates some parts of his film scores into another. Also, you'll see in "Might of Rome", also written by him, a similarity to Pearl Harbor's "War."

It's true, whenever I hear someone talk about the Pirates score, I always say, "you mean the Gladiator score?"
Klaus-whatever just ripped off the whole thing. Apparently he used to work for Zimmer.
