  • It is my favourite soundtrack from this film...

  • This is not similar to he is a pirate. He is a pirate is similar to this!!!

  • 5:52 he's a pirate ;)

  • hahahaah ryt - so similar to he is a pirate, i just love the soundtracks made my hans zimmer

  • Don't forget The Rock, as well! He has a very distinctive style with the instruments his orchestra uses. :P

  • the ultimate alpha male!

  • For the people who say that Hans Zimmer used some parts of Pirates of the Caribbean for this: not at all! In fact, he used parts of Gladiator in Pirates of the Caribbean :-P - Gladiator is from 1999, you know, and PotC from 2003...

  • You're right: there are similarities between Gladiator and PotC. And in fact, the music of PotC 1 has been done by Klaus Badelt.

  • thanks genius

  • he use a lot of motiff from pirates of the carribean and MARS, bringer of war.. zzz

  • some bits sounds very similar to pirates of the caribbean...but VERY GOOD!!

  • I think Hans Zimmer wrote those two Soundtracks at the same time,...

  • because sounds are from the same composer :D:D

  • the potc is actually the latest of them 2, so think again about which 1 sounds like which.

  • its the same music like in pirates of carribic

  • this was made before it

  • agree with you, best part.

  • Same person made it. Hanz Zimmer. He also made batman, The musketeer, Gladiator, and Pirates of the Carribean. Point made he is one of the best composers of all time!

  • well seeing as MARS is the god of war it seems appropriate... and no taking away this is a ood peice of music

  • @Caboose97 agreed. one of the best

  • 5:80 - 6:20 is awesome, I love this part

  • 5:80?

  • 5:80 and 6:20 are the same time...

  • Princess of Tech is right.

In a lot of the movie it sounds like the Pirates soundtrack.

Of course, Pirates can't compare with this movie-Gladiator blows it out of the water.

  • This music was composed from the same music composer as pirates of the carribean. They liked it and thought it would go well with pirates so they changed it a little and used it

    :)

  • simply better

  • also my absolute favorites. GREAT

  • hans zimmer and john willians: The best music creatores ever!!

  • Creeps

    YNWA

  • goosebumps

  • wtf mate!?! did you give me a thumbs down?

  • is it me or does this sound like "mars" from the planets?

  • negro! thats the name of the piece. and it sounds like it

  • sounds like mars? chuck norris has already been there, there is no life on mars so how can there be sounds?

  • I also heard that Chuck Norris visited the Virgin Islands. They are now only known as "The Islands"

  • Yes, it does sound like Mars by Gustav Holst. Ignore all the crazies :).

  • Not only does it sound like it, but Gustav Holst's (composer of the Planets) family sued Hans Zimmer for infringing upon their intellectual property - and won!

  • haha nice...i mean come one, its obvious that this piece has some parts of "mars". And a lot of his compositions sound the same. Like the rock and pirates of the carribean...but thats just me. yes or no

  • the beginning is the best !

  • 05:53 catches my heart right in. Most powerful soundtrack in hollywood history. Go for it Hans Zimmer!

  • BEST SONG!!!

  • great theme.

    I love it so much!!!

  • Love this music !

    powerfull music

  • this was wrote in 2000, first part of pirates of carribean was made in 2003... so

  • the rock was made in 1996

  • u are soooo right

  • this song pumps me so much!!

  • This music sounds very similar to the movies that everyone is talking about..like The Rock and Pirates of the Carribean...but if you compare it to the other movies, its different. Its just composed by the dame guy.

  • 5:50 - 6:20 part is in so many movies for example in The ROCK... I was just wondering where it comes from originally?

  • Listen to my mix of Gladiator - the battle =)

    /watch?v=MG8x4VBYN7E

  • mike oldfield sucks

  • mike oldfield sucks u mother f!#@%^ jk, no but seriosly mike oldfield sucks

  • yeh i was joking i love this sound track. Mike oldfield doesnt suck though...hes really creative ...just a little wierd thats all haha

  • rrfwed!!!!!

    Look...

Gladiator has been published in 2000...

Pirates of the Carribean in 2003...

So, who stole it from whom?

The next thing is, that Klaus Badelt composed the music for Pirates of the Carribean... You know who that is??? I think not, because KB learned everything from Hans Zimmer (composed the music for Gladiator) :P

  • yeah but both music is by hans zimmer... so you cannot tell that he stole himelf... anyway i prefer gladiators version a thousand times

  • Hans Zimmer made both bud

  • Klaus Badlet composed the music for pirates of the carribean 1, the curse of the black pearl. But Hans Zimmer did dead mans chest and world's end. however, he stole half of Badelt's themes :p

  • in writing for sequels, composers often write "sequels" of the music that appeared in the first film. sometimes they make it more fitting (darker for POTC 2 + 3) and change the time to fit a scene. it's open and honest, and is often the best approach, along with writing original music. "stole" is perhaps a strong word.

  • yes, but I wonder why they changed composers in the first place.

  • Badelt 'stole' half of Hans zimmers stuff from gladiator in the first place, so in effect it's just completing the cycle XD

  • It's true, whenever I hear someone talk about the Pirates score, I always say, "you mean the Gladiator score?"

Klaus-whatever just ripped off the whole thing. Apparently he used to work for Zimmer.

  • All this music is a ripp off of the Planets by Holst, end of story.

  • Not all of it, just an occasional phrase. (I actually have the same thought as you when I hear that.)

I used to love The Planets, I'd listen to it while I did my homework...

  • Actually Zimmer came up with most of those themes for the first POTC but was under contract for another movie and wasn't allowed to be credited in POTC.

  • A piece of great music... Stand and fight for the glory of Roman Empire, Tribune!

  • 5:50 - 6:20 got completely stolen by Pirates of the carribean :p

  • to bad Gladiator was made in 2000 and the first Pirates of the Caribbean was made in 2003 i believe, so if anything the creators of pirates stole from Gladiator

  • Isn't that what he said?? Read whats in front of you, he says by Pirates not from Pirates, you are a silly billy.

  • just awesome :)

  • Strenght and honour!!!!!!!

  • Indeed... Strength And Honour!!!!

  • Awesome songs :) 5/5

  • Great track and movie.

  • Great video! Great music :)

  • strenght and honour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GRANDEUR SENSATION

  • this sounds so similar to POTC but its not the same composer, is it?

  • same composer.

Hans Zimmer often incorporates some parts of his film scores into another. Also, you'll see in "Might of Rome", also written by him, a similarity to Pearl Harbor's "War."

    And plenty more... :P

  • this song is one of the best songs i have ever heared...

allways makes me fighting with my sword...

ave germania, which fought for freedom and liberty

  • and was defeated by Romans

  • I <3 this song and movie

  • Best song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
