  • stfu

  • buy a bike, grow your own food, buy local food, buy a solar cooker, pedal powered washing machine, solar power. You have just saved your world. Is it that hard? is it that bad? What's worse is global disaster...

  • damn right dude!

just next time pls mention that there are also fashion seasons of the "ways" to waste time that the majority follows to feel "normal" about their lives.

eh, and try not to be honestly angry about this one or the cam might get broken xD

  • You want to save the world ? .......my suggestion......Save yourself first, then, if want, help out another person, or persons who can help you as you help them......and keep it going

  • your honesty is very rare

  • You should really expatiate on what "wasted time" is. We are driven by desire, and if we desire to "do nothing" or "waste time", that is, essentially, a contradictory argument because we're using our time in consonance with our free will. Is there something wrong with obliging to what we want; our own free will? This video is a useless rant to me.

  • word up...

  • dude you are fucking AWESOME!!!!!

  • just killing some time now on youtube.

  • Yeah, get out of your bed, and stop wasting our time !!

  • im wasting time watching this video

  • the world has been ending since it began. don't worry about history or science. focus on your immediate environment. turn off your computer. take off your clothes. fall in love. stop thinking and drop dead. you are on the path to insanity and enlightenment.

  • our world is probably a lot than it was for most of history. its impossible to make it anywhere near perfect

  • this is awesome bro

  • use time wisely > stop wasting time

    you yell bad dog

but don't teach it to be good

you become a grumpy old man who yells at his dog dog doesn't know what good is without a role model

    embrace good > reject evil

honesty means holding fast to what is good

  • Maybe just maybe watching wall like zen master and engaging in developmentally positive activities... but not much examples of this. Everyone lives a fractured, unfixed, dying world. Fear looses.

  • great video, keep up the hard work.

  • thanks man, i really needed that.

  • yes good video, I even found myself right now wasting time. I'm doing nothing right now but staring at a stupid screen, watching stupid videos of stupid people and reading comments of people who are doing exactly the same as I was doing. we are all lost nowadays, lost in the big web that's called the internet. and why? because I'm bored. yes I do have work etc. but it just doesnt feel right, I'm not helping anything or anyone at all. I'll commit suicide right now to make this world a better...jk

  • whats the flag on the back?

  • i dunno just a tapestry

  • Bravo!

  • Save the whales!

  • so you don't care if i smoke weed and stare at the wall as long as i don't CALL IT wasting time. gotcha.

what many people call wasting time, others call introspection, deep thought, self-realization. this is when accomplishments go to seed. do not underestimate the value of staring at the wall.

  • and fuck your vanity you small human being. NO ONE HAS EVER SAVED THE WORLD. historical figures are blown out of proportion to the point where you'd almost think they saved the world from what you hear about them, but it's bullshit. saving the world is a lie told by the worst of idealists. people are small and so are their actions. content yourself with doing good, small things. don't "waste time" trying to live up to absurdly lofty heroic ideals.

  • ... thanks for your contribution (nothing) to the cause!

... you've given about as much as a hundred thousand other self-centered slaves! enjoy your "introspection." maybe try some exospection and figure out what the fuck is being done to your world.

  • uhm...why dont you have a shirt on?

  • why does it fucking matter for christ's sake?!?!?!?!?!?!!

  • Haha, it just threw me off, but i get what your saying in the vid, we're all wasting time doing nothing instead of trying to help out the world in some way.

I just didnt get why you were shirtless O_O.

  • fuck shirts

  • well....ok, next guitar vid I make I'll do it shirtless. XD I like you man, your vids are great and your funny as hell.

  • you remind me of Too Much Coffee Man but without the hopelessness

god i've wasted a lot of time this year. sigh

  • wow ur awesome!

    tis so tru!

  • nobody else sees the jesus christ similarity?

  • 'We are either Anvil or Hammer, those that shape Society and those shaped by Society'MLK

Strong empassioned video; but are you a mere-thermometer or a potential Barometer.. only time will tell you... what are you doing now, with your time??

  • watching this is a waste of time.

  • They say time is money!

But the truth is that Time is limited to each of us, we never know how much we will truly have. But we choose to sell that little we have for a virtual concept called money! Time is not money, but money steals time!

  • ya know, with no shirt on and that image on the cloth behind your head, you look like popuar depictions of jesus christ. kinda scary! please stay away from angry crowds bearing huge wooden crosses.....

  • it´s not like time is a material thing you can save. time isn´t money you got in your wallet that you save by saying:"hey, I´m not gonna buy this. I´m gonna save my money!" time flies, it says. even these 2:21 minutes could be wasting time. but it´s not. -it´s a good "waste of time" to listen to others opinions and thoughts. every minute of life is learning and teaching. even sitting in a bar with a beer and watching people makes sense. for some more for others less.

  • What you may define as wasting time certainly isn't wasting time to another person. Although your message is a good one.

  • when you say, "i'm going to waste time today," you're wasting time.

  • I know, but what you might see as something that is wasting time the other person may see as something enjoyable they're doing for fun. It just came across like that. Thats what I meant.

  • .... no, it's not about what i see as wasting time. it's about what you see as wasting time.

  • Oh alright, its just some of your replys to other comments made it come across like that to me :)

  • haha funny video, but isn't really impossible to waste time. Wouldn't the opposite of wasting time just be ignoring it?

  • no, i think it would be acknowledging the limits of a lifespan and resolving to do something meaningful with that time.

  • yes its tricky because even things I do that do not end up turning out right, which seemed to be a waste of time, teach me something that I will ultimately use later in another situation which saves me time. So perhaps mistakes are every bit as valuable as solutions or at least perhaps they co-exist for a reason. dont know.

  • Time is an illusion.

    Put your shirt on.

    This video is a waste...of.....

  • linear time is a cultural concept, true.

time is not an illusion. i have half an hour until class. that is a real amount of time. i had better use it effectively or i'll be late.

how old are you? a member of my generation? perhaps you should re-listen to what i said. i said, "my peers call what they do 'wasting time,' and that's what i have a problem with, because we need to start working on helping to save the world rather than wasting time."

  • actually, clock time is an illusion, and a rather new one at that, historically speaking

college trains you to the clock and calendar so you will be a more obedient and efficient worker/citizen

surely you have had the experience of time stopping, or rushing, or crawling

    it doesn't exist

indigenous cultures don't have the concept of clock time, and one very common complaint that civilized people have when they work with people from less time-obsessed cultures is that they aren't 'on time'

  • oh, ok, time's an illusion.

i guess that means it's cool to play video games all night rather than devoting some energy towards helping to save the world.

    my mistake.

  • yes time is an illusion, and we've been brainwashed into reifying it

but that doesn't mean it is cool to play video games all night

the point of your (excellent)video is that we shouldn't operate in default mode--in this culture, for young people, that's playing video games

new study: virtually all young people are gamers

we shouldn't operate in default mode. if we don't know what to do, we can at least play the opposites game, and go against the flow civilization is trying to suck us into.

  • In answer to your question z, i do think that college students are particularly vulnerable when the shit hits the fan. And before it.

If you look at what Rangel has pushed as legislation and Obama is saying about the military not being 'fair' i think you can count on selective service for men and women starting within a year. There's no college deferments. Starts at age 20. You just get to finish the semester you are in.

  • You can opt for citizen corp etc instead of the military, but that means you need a practical skill set. How many students you know skilled in medical or first aid, etc.

College is used to mask unemployment and to get people indebted. There are signs there will be the equivalent of debtor's prisons. I would ask Hooligan from what i see of his responses. He seems to know this stuff.

  • The last thing that makes me fear for people like you is that you will be isolated and alone. Students are not part of the town or city, many do not have any local network with townies. If shit happens, how do you get home individually? How do foreign students get back to their countries when airports close? Where do you go when the college shuts down and you live on the opposite coast etc? You need to practically help each other, z, and stay out of debt.

  • good advice. all very practical. makes a lot of sense to me.

so, what about you? how old are you, where do you live, what kind of job do you have?

  • i'm a shareholder/member in a coop(in upstate ny--surrounded by seventeen colleges, lol) I had to be 18 and NYstate resident to join. So i work there plus write articles/reviews of farmer/food issues. (i'll pm next time. sorry i am wrecking your thread.)

  • are you kidding??

*poor people*, not college students, are and have been and will be particularly vulnerable when the shit hits the fan

and the shit is always hitting the fan

  • I am talking about in the US. The middle class will be wiped out, not *poor people* Poor people do not threaten the elite.

People without social networks during a crisis are *poor*

  • Zeitgeist doesn't go deep enough only in that it's just a starting point for people to open their eyes to what's really going on, go deeper and examine their lives on a day to day basis (things that we don't normally question or think twice about), I think. Still an incredible movie.

I'm starting to watch Ring of Power Illuminati Bloodlines. It's around five hours long and some say better than zeitgeist.

  • Of course I understand the ramifications of loans at interest.

But when zack asks a question like "why do we need a medium of exchange?" I feel as though I should answer his question and explain the convenience factor as opposed to trade and barter.

I guess the question is "Can money exist in our society with being hoarded, printed out of thin air and thus devalued by Fed.Res., loaned at high interest, controlled by the wealthy elite and national banks, etc?"

  • sure, if people are "better than they've ever been before"

    this has been discussed before.

    f*ck money

  • I just think that to say 'fuck money' is too big a generalization, though I could see that your maybe alluding to the bigger picture, I don't know.

  • yes.

do you think that these banks folding is an accident? it's not.

i'm not trying to allude to anything. we all just think differently. i've been saying this stuff in most of my videos, since day one...but i just realized i haven't really clarified what i am saying.

  • You know as well as I do that if one wants a college education these days and are low on dough, they can still make it happen.

If one applies themselves in high school and gets great grades and the attention of schools, searches for loans, funding, scholarships, or even has to settle for a community college, they can make it happen.

You know the benefits of having an economic society as you and I carry on a conversation through some benefits rights before your eyes.

  • right now. the only benefit i see from a college education is (yet another) worthless piece of paper that says "pay me more"

most college grads have (0) ZERO survival value. they are uberconsumers.

  • What difference does it make to the dead or to orphans or to homeless people wandering around Galveston this morning, whether some college kids want to waste time or not. You wouldn't be doing anything positive anyway to actually help anyone with anything, let alone save the world. You're the selfabsorbed selfappointed 'change agents' the world needs saving from. Keep pretending you're Ghandi with a youtube ministry. Preach with your phoney halo behind you. Ughhh. You're unreal.

  • hm.

i have a lot of problems with Ghandi. i do not want to pretend to be anyone. it's hard enough pretending to be myself, when i don't even know who i am.

what difference does it make to those sufferin this second? maybe not much. but it'll make a huge difference to those who will suffer in the future, if we make changes towards removing the System of Suffering.

  • i wouldn't be doing anything positive? please understand i am not trying to brag when i say i am confident my youtube channel saves lives. (kids have told me shit like that.)

if i am helping some people understand this mess a little easier, than i am doing something hugely positive! and you're only exhibiting your own negativity by refusing to acknowledge that.

  • phony halo? when have i ever claimed that I am angelic, saintly or free from blame and responsibility? phony halo? where's the halo?

this system harms people, like the dead orphan homeless people you mentioned. the system is held in place by the apathy of civilized humans worldwide, including my peers. i attempt with my videos to challenge that apathy. sometimes i succeed.

    how is that not positive?

how is that not saving the world?

  • most importantly, what do you recommend that i and other people do instead? or, in addition?

  • Working for a living is a waste of time if you don't need to. Unfortunately most of us do. So after a 40hr week, chillin out and doing nothing (I call it relaxing) is not being complacent.

  • understood.

however, working towards achieving a way of life in which that much work is not necessary in whatever way possible might be a productive use of down-time.

  • Right that would be laudible. Certainly better than spending hours every day on YouTube.

  • Are you in the same panic as Wall Street by any chance?

  • kind of

    kind of a bigger panic

    kind of not a panic

kind of a panic about a panic

or a panic about panic in general

    or a general panic

    no, a specific panic.

  • not really a panic.

  • bit of a panic.

  • I just hope you don't feel you're being rushed into this notion to go live in the jungle or whatever since being rushed is also one of the symptoms and the way to avoid thinking so that things remain the same.

After all it took a few hundreds/thousands of years to go this far wrong maybe it'll take the same to get out of it.

  • sense of urgency?

  • zeitschen - we've been on our way out for thousands of years, already.

i do not feel rushed into living in the jungle. i know you've never used your ears before (since you're just waking up from the matrix) but try to listen and understand before you assume someone's stance.

i feel rushed into bringing down civilization, because if we don't do it soon many or all ecosystems on earth will collapse, and then all life will eventually end because of us, and i don't want that much blood on my hands

  • there is a sense of urgency here that cannot be over-stressed.

however, go live in the jungle?

find me one instance in the history of my time on youtube where i tell people to "go live in the jungle."

  • YES I agree! But in order to save the world you need to put a shirt on!

  • please help me understand why this is true

  • Cause you want to be taken seruiously by the most ammount of people right?

  • Dude you really wasted time...

    No just kidding xD

  • clever

  • i think you are right... but in a way all children or the majority think school is simply wasteing time.o wait i have an idea we could either not do school what so ever or we could change school to a way that teachers and children dont think its a waste of time anymore. people often tend to choose the easy way out

  • it's not up to me to decide what is a waste of time or what isn't.

i'm saying, there are problems in the world, and all of my peers are not trying to help solve those problems. they only care about dicking around and wasting time.

    fuck that.

  • i think you have a good idea of what you are talking about and explaining this to all this people might be a bit hard because this subject can be very broad. i like the way you handle it though, the assertive attitude is certainly convincing altough some people who dont believe in this may think you are nuts^^ anyway good job

  • I believe that half the worlds population isn't wasting time, they're trying to survive.

  • agreed.

  • beuatifully put, thank you, my sentiments exactly. I actually hate wasting time, I don't read non fiction, I only read to learn about pertinent pressing issues facing us today, it's very important right now, we have no time to lose, we losing far too much in this world, and we need to realize it, and start actually doing things to help save this planet, this country, our electoral system, far too much too learn. If eveyone would just stop watching so much TV, BS news, "reality shows,

  • "The underachiever who sit at home stroking it all day isn't bothering anyone; it's the motivated guy who goes out and invents the Bomb." -Sri Carlin

maybe wasting time is better than the other options.

  • Good point, Something!

  • people don't suck

  • I just want to know what you're doing then, z.

I've sent you how many messages asking and...you don't respond.

I say, 'yes, let's make this happen' and my inbox is empty. like this is a subtle way of blowing it off.

we do need to 'save the world' but it's not going to happen sitting on our asses in front of youtube making videos to eachother about how we need to save the world.

    you feel me?

  • what do you have in mind?

  • cc-

    i go fishing a lot.

    it helps.

  • yep

  • medicate into submission...yeah, baby.

  • Dude quit wasting time making this! jk.

Seriously JK. Popular culture somehow memorizes people into zombies. Must watch TV must talk about it, must waste more time. Maybe the UFO coming next month will abduct all the idiots and leave the people who hate globalization and the globalists so we can rise up all kill the motherfuckas!

  • thanks for suspending judgment... and pushing us to do our own thinking!

    oh shit!!!

  • oh shit

  • some say its just a partofit

  • we've got to fulfill de book

  • emancipate yourself from mental slavery

none but ourselves can free our minds

  • have no fear for atomic energy

    (just the waste it produces)

cuz none o dem can stop a de time

  • which song was that? bob marley was seriously smart.. listen to the song one love and decode what hes saying. basicly it comes down to become one to save the world

  • monk-

    redemption song

...um...more like live for humanity, instead of the "money agenda"...love your neighbor, and sh*t.

  • dude you forgot bob marley the best of em all

  • woop, my bad. thanks for that

  • Exactly! Of course we can save the world! Start doing our part NOW!Z...this is one of your best videos! Makes perfect sense! Thanks for posting this. Peace!

    Diane:)

  • I like the message but don't understand how people will see it if they did as you ask and STOP WASTING TIME ON YOUTUBE!

    Gotta go..........

  • yeah, what's up with that? i just disabled the comment thumbs.

    fuck these fucking comment thumbs.

  • it's just irritating to see a decent comment disappear...which reminds me...

  • i had to do some disabling.

  • this video was sort of hollow to me. why do so many of you think that if we do not "change our ways" (which you do not seem to be doing), that the world is going to end, completely? people will die, people will be humbled, systems will fall. what more could really happen?

  • No.

  • which part is confusing?

  • I don't know.

You say, 'The way to save the world is to try to save the world.' 0:44

'In my life I..go to school, I go to work, I hang out with people, I come onto youtube and I see people wasting time' 0:49

However, how is going to school, going to work, hanging with friends, and youtube helping save the world?

Our corrupted overpriced universities, edu system in gen, and the repetitive drudgery of work in America are part of the problem causing the world to need saving in the first place

  • The way to save the world is NOT to try to do so. It is to actually do so.

Of course you are spreading the knowledge of civilization's problems with these videos but aside from that I don't think that you are helping to save the world. Just my opinion.

I think that the system set up by the wealthy controlling elite of the world needs the common man like you and me to put into the system our money and energy through things like school and work.

So you can see why I think the way I do.

  • LJP-

    F*CK MONEY!

    is that what yer sayin?

  • dnHooligan;

I'm not saying fuck money. In and of itself I don't think money is bad.

The convenience of money as a medium of exchange is something to be appreciated.

  • ... why do we need a "medium of exchange?"

  • Zack, Money is used as an intermediary for trade in order to avoid the inefficiencies of a barter system, which are sometimes referred to as the 'double coincidence of wants problem'. Such usage is termed a medium of exchange.(wikipedia, << I know they're not the most reliable source but it answers your question)

Double coincidence of wants- ex If you want to trade fruit for wheat, you can only do so when both are available at the same time and place which may be a brief amt. of time or never.

  • what ever happened to "communities" that "share?"

  • "What happened to the communities that shared?"

I'd wager a guess that Capitalism is a good starting point to answer your question. The importance of the individual.

Many old communities that shared also used money sometimes.

Native americans sometimes used shells as a form of money.

In swaziland shell jewelery in the form of strung beads also dates back to (100,000 yrs ago possibly), and had the basic attributes needed of commodity money.

The shekel, the Lydians gold and silver, etc.

  • standard currency is what i am referring to. shell beads and wampum are NOT standard currency...loaned at interest.

  • that is why you pay property taxes. you are paying rent to the "owners" of the world. this is true, as long as you believe in money.

what do you think is going to happen when the dollar is finally declared dead? (though it is already) people who have loaned us all this debt money will TAKE EVERYTHING

  • zzz, also, just imagine that your college says "Sorry we are no longer taking currency (money) for tuition payments as an exchange for your education. You must trade something of value with us like livestock, food, a virgin daughter, etc."

Or, what if your workplace said "We will no longer pay you in dollars, we will only trade you what we think is worth your time. No more payments in money with a value that is generally agreed upon by our society".

  • you're not really taking this deep enough.

what are the benefits of having a system where we have to pay for our education? what are the benefits of having an economic society?

what ever happened to "communities" that "share?"

  • I'm not taking this deep enough?

I just took it thousands of years ago.

  • not really. we evolved for millions of years without [standard currency] money. in the 6-10k years with it, we are on the brink of extinction.

  • dnHooligan, I'm up on the Rothschild through to the Rockefellers controlling and possessing most of the money, believe me. That's the stuff that gets my blood boiling.

Back to your question, am I saying fuck money? No, it has a convenience that can't be denied.

Am I against a corrupted system of the way money is controlled in the hands of the few wealthy elite like the aforementioned names, hell yes.

Movies like Zeitgeist, esoteric agenda and the like sum it up for me.

  • they own ALL the money in existence...that is what people don't understand. right now, the FED could demand ALL money be returned, PLUS interest...where ya gonna come up with the interest?

most of zeitgeist is skewed, and not exactly factual. it does get a good point across, but the editor/fact checker was asleep at the wheel.

  • Zeitgeist doesn't go deep enough.

  • ...but its better than the evenin news.

  • ALL Money Is Owned By:

    Rothschild of London and Berlin

    Lazard Bros of Paris

    Israel Sieff of Italy

    Warburg of Germany

    Loeb of New York

    Sachs of New York

    Rockefeller of New York

Lehman Bros (who just folded with our money)

They LOAN money to govts, AT INTEREST. do you understand the ramifications of this statement? They LOAN it to govts, AT INTEREST!

  • I DON'T EVER WASTE TIME.

  • Only problem are people who love the status quo. They don't wanna change anything.

  • I'm thinking about stalking, kidnapping and torturing Bill O'Reilly. I'll make him watch an Inconvenient Truth over and over at high volume while extorting huge sums from the Fox faithful which I will give away to poor unwed welfare moms.

  • Meh, I'd just kill him if I had the chance.

Oh yea, once again thanks for not wasting time talking about pointless crap in this video.

  • Makes perfect sense to me.

  • Chris-

    me too.

i sure hope fishing is positive.

  • Sure, it makes plenty sense to me but some times the acts people conduct claiming they aren't a waste of time are worse than if they'd just opted to stare at a wall. Hell, maybe my own [kamikaze] mission's the wrong one, maybe those I seek to decimate, secretly have souls but then again, I've checked & checked for signs of sapience, & instead found further exemplification to fuel my disdain, and that there's really nothing behind their eyes. That's not even what I was looking for but I found it.

  • Eh, fuck it, it's just some exclusive terminology from a zombicidal weapon in evolution / determinism's arsenal. Too exhausted from work, insomnia, malnutrition etc to type properly or make sense beyond the subjective sense I'm makin or at least not right now, not to mention this grotesque sensation in muh belly. Anyway, I don't think I'm wasting time, not me, when I'm doing what's perceived as a waste of time, I'm trying to distract my mind from the nightmares. Maybe that's what others are doin

  • His point is, the problems in the world aren't hard to solve if everyone actually did some stupid little thing to fix it in their direct reach, sure you might think most people have this dickwad attitude to destroy things. However, I sincerely doubt that most people think like that, only a few people are dickwads, the rest of us are just wasting time and not being the opposite of a dickwad, THAT is the problem.

  • The barrier to awareness for most people is simply immense, but theres still a high possibility that we can transform this world to what it's meant to be! Awareness is a massive step up.

Oh yes and, the only reason why people can't save the world, IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T BELIEVE THEY CAN SAVE THE WORLD!

  • gik

    what do you think?

  • Does It Look Like I Have Been Wasting Time?

  • Which time are you referring? The tick tock clock invented by man or the earth clock holding the seasons or the universe was created by gods and will be destroyed by gods clock? Sorry aliens I know you gotta clock somewhere too. Its my time (but not that time!)right now and there is no manmade clock I abide by. What was the demand? Stop Wasting Time? Time spent time dreamt, Time reminds of the past and whats not happening fast enough Why does everything need to be fast? Slow down, earth breaths.

  • Shooting at their life controllers.

Odd the name punchclocks, a demeaning moment for workers. Funny but not how the nature company used them.

Time is used to control us, get to work humanoids, so wasting it during ones freetime is a rebellious act that really has no effect but to propagate the same old loop of a life.

  • exactly

  • nope

  • Man, this was fucking awesome. I ripped it and turned it into an Mp3.

  • nice one

  • Most people don't care, they think they will live forever in heaven after they die. They don't give a fuck about our planet.

  • yooge

good thing you can speak for "most people"

    i think you're wrong, though.

  • This is a great video z., I did not feel like I wasted time watching it!

  • I'd rather see people waste time than do a host of other shit that contributes to the prolonged existence our culture.

  • yeah, good point. we're talking to two different audiences, though. i'm talking to my peers who would rather waste time than help affect change.

i'd much rather see C.E.O.s, etc. waste time rather than help affect death.
