Miss Bergman returned to Hollywood in 1959 to a thunderous several minute standing ovation. I wish someone could retrieve that special moment for us all. Miss Bergman had been "banned" from the USA for immoral behavior. Compared to what goes on today the treatment while always unfair now seems stupid.

Its a pity she din turn up on the 1957 oscar to pick up her best actress win, many pple in Hollywood were still hostile towards her bcos o the rossellini affair in 1957. I tink she decided to juz stay away bcos she din tink she'll win it (due to the scandal) altot she certainly deserves her win!!
