The only thing I can use on my face is maybelline dream satin liquid foundation in ivory. Everything else is way to dark for me. I am really pale. But my cheeks are very red all the time because of the blood vessels in my face, and no matter how much I try, I can't hide them completely. Please help me! Red cheeks are only cute on Santa Claus and small children (I'm almost 17!). AND the only brands I get hold of is The Balm, BarryM, Maybelline, Loreal, MaxFactor, Gosh and Isadora.

Before I saw this video I used 2 shades of Chanel Vitalumière, a light and a dark one, to get the right color summer and winter. I have dry/combination skin but I thought this foundation was to runny and it didn't provide enough coverage on it's own.

After seeing this video I did some research and I actually love the effect of Chanel Vitalumière mixed with maybeline's dream satin liquid!

So thanks a lot for making this video, I have finally 'found' the perfect foundation for my skin now!

i'm officially requesting a video on the best solution for freckles! yeah yeah, they're adorable and everything and 99.5% of the time i don't wear anything to cover them

but every once in a while we ginger kids want to look sexy and not "kid sister" cute with freckles! it's difficult to find a concealer that doesn't make your face too dark or too light because of the color fluctuation (freckles vs the skin under them) and contrast!

@QuantumKaiju illamasqua makes some very pale foundations, too. or, if you have a foundation you already like, you can buy a white mixing medium to mix with it (e.g., MAC face and body in white (pro product), face atelier zero minus, OCC has a white one, and coastal scents does, too).

Great video! I feel like I now have "permission" to mix foundations. Being an amateur, sometimes it feels "wrong" to do almost artistic things with makeup. Like, who am I to say this professionally formulated foundation isn't quite right? But you are totally correct: Every person's needs and likes are different, and viewing makeup as art kind of lets you feel free to do things like mix foundations.

(I ask in numbers of stores in 3 different countries, I live in these 3 countries, travelling back and forth most of the time) all of them suggest the same colour.. and when I told them sometimes it can look ashy on me at day time but not night time, they suggest a skin illuminator primer before applying my foundation.

@fairy4angel I have really oily skin and the only foundation I've found that works as well or better than Colorstay is Estee Lauder DoubleWear. I still get a little bit of oil breakthrough throughout the day, but once the foundation is on, it pretty much stays there for the entire day. It's a bit expensive, but they can color match you and give you a sample to try before buying :).
