my parents grew up in baltimore we live about an hour out as it is now, horrible place, not what it used to be, hate going down there after dark, camden yards and the inner harbor is about as far in as i'll go by myself and even there is sketchy.
I have a relative who is a cop & how he handles it is when he closes his patrol car door, thats it and everything stays there. As soon as he secures & stores his firearm, he is himself relaxing doing something, singing around the house or doing home improvement. He doesn't think about anything bad that happened that day but he does not do road patrol either; lot's of stress in the office.
The reaction to a friend/family death that isn't faked or acted out in a re-enactment is always sobering. I used to be an EMT, I have learned to lock up all emotions from seeing this sort of thing over and over again.
at the end the cop says nobody knows how hard it is for them and there right but think about this they get to go home to a better place the peole that live in that hood dont think about how hard it is for them
If you're going to last in Police work or Emergency Medicine, you have to find a way to handle what you see.
I handle ambulance work differently, because I can't forget what I've seen. Instead, I don't allow myself to feel responsible for the choices other people make.
I do everything I can, and I'm okay with that. I will not, under any circumstances, feel responsible for other people's crimes.
When are these american fuckhead politicians gonna realize that something is really fucking wrong in their country?! Lifetime and death sentence does not fucking work! And that extreme capitalism pays off for someone, for others it means living a life without money, dignity and with drugs and killings around them all the time. Fucking american conservativity.
Some local networks showed Rescue 911 syndicated on weekday afternoons. I remember my local FOX station showed it every weeknight at 6:00 PM, back-to-back with Real Stories of the Highway Patrol.
my gparents live in the city about 20 blocks from the harbor, got robbed last year. theres good ppl in that city but the bad have outweighed them for a long time
Wow, why didn't the guy just give the name of the cousin? Or if there was any issues he knew of surrounding his death?! And then to cause a scene outside like that, wasting manpower from other areas .. idiot. The more the police know, the faster they can catch the killer, the less time he has to get money to make bail and talk to witnesses.
the man is over come by grief and anger, you wouldn't know if you could keep cool after finding someone you love lying dead. in the city the natives try to take care of their own problems because the justice system always
2 segments from this episode that I have on tape from 30 minute syndicated episodes are this one and the one where 2 siblings call the police when a burglar attempts to break in their house.
why would they show the animated policecar in the opening of this segment I ask because it could ruin the surprise for the viewer and besides the policecar scene is used in this segment anyway?
2:38 obviously interesting blooper the officer is obviously talking to the Rescue 911 camera crew.

I'm not conservative in any sense of the word, but if life and death sentences don't work, what will?
theprofessor172 3 years ago
Maximum 21 years in jail, like here in Norway. We have got one of the lowest murder rates in the world.
EirikVR 3 years ago
Norway doesn't have anything even slightly similar to the drug problem America does.

speaking of intros used in this segment, there are others that did'nt make it to the actual show
1. motor vehicle accident,Blue Jeans, Room on fire.

Wow, a lot of evidence is probably wasted with so many people at the crime scene. Can see this is quite old.

why would they show the animated policecar in the opening of this segment I ask because it could ruin the surprise for the viewer and besides the policecar scene is used in this segment anyway?
gregorkrause 5 years ago
Hey Mr. allgood can you make a pop-up version of this segment meaning cool facts about each scene for
example
1. the call you've just heard is used in the Rescue 911 intro
2. the police car heading to the scene is used for returning/opening of segments
3. this segment has the deadguy that is used in the 911 intro.
gregorkrause 5 years ago
Tagline: "See this segment as shown in intro in living color"
gregorkrause 5 years ago
my tagline: "See the Baltimore cops in its entirety"
second tagline: "See the dead guy scene in color as in the intro"
gregorkrause 5 years ago
cool segment because
1. This is a docu segment
2. some scenes especially the dead guy is used in the 911 intro
3. the scene where the policecar is dispatched is used for the returning to the show in solarization
a type of animation.
gregorkrause 5 years ago
The part used @ the intro is @ 55 secs - 1min
RuneKid1 5 years ago
If you are referring to the patrol car going by, then it is actually from 1:55-1:59.
