SHE SOUNDS SLIGHTLY OFF-KEY HERE---BUT SHE IS ***NOT*** OFF-KEY!!!! I wouldn't have known this, but my cousin recently found & purchased an orginal copy on vinyl. And it's PERFECT & does NOT sound shakily almost-off-key like this! (If you listen to THIS, it's not just her voice, but the strings & piano are off too!) The reason---It was a record with the hole punched SLIGHTLY off-center!!!! SALLY IS GREAT!!!!
It was not a VG recording I admit. But the was a promotional single recorded high Fidelity (as they called it back then).I'm not familiar with phonograph technology..lol. Sorry the sound is a bit off.
Screen Gems/Columbia wanted to take full advantage of Sally's "singing ability" as they did with Shelley Fabares and Paul Petersen on "THE DONNA REED SHOW" {on their Colpix records subsidiary}...because they owned Colgems records {"The Monkees" label}, they wanted that "tie-in" album and single, and got it.
she did pretty well ~ her LP featuring songs from THE FLYING NUN certainly deserves a CD
Release ~ it was well done and she surely could have had a Hit record with "I'm So Glad I can Fly" - Sally's still "flying high" with her hit tv series BROTHERS AND SISTERS -
Thanks for posting this song. I actually once had the 45 with Grand ole Flag on the reverse side. I had got rid of my 45's when I moved, but I think I could still get them back. This is real nostalgia!
"Golden Days" flip side "Grand old flag". Real kids stuff, but a great Sally field collectors item! I will likely re post this song with a Pic so check back! Also might throw in one of her other songs.
Wow - she sounds like Shelley Fabares. I've heard a few songs inthe Flying Nun, but not this one.

She sounds so pretty despite the off center sound!

That is a LOT of over-dubbing!

yep. typical songs from the 60's - very OVERPOWERING orchestra, singers sound like they are in a tunnel

Colpix was renamed Colgems, whih in turn was taken over by Bell, and in turn was taken over by Arista.

This song is from a 45rpm. There was only few sold, but never on a album. Check ebay they pop up every blue moon.

That's cool, but what's the name of the song on the 45 RPM?

Too bad just a black screen, but little loss: Sally Field is a far, far superlative actress than a singer!

True, her singing carrier was in The Flying nun contract. Sally never thought She was a great singer.
