I'm now 42 years old and this jam was the shyt when I was 17! I remember cruisin the strip in my home town in my Feiro GT jammin this cut to like no tomorrow, over and over again!
One of my all time favorite rap tracks. I bought this with the original sleeve design and someone stole it from me. I managed to buy another copy but could never find it with the original artwork. Thanks so much for uploading this.
i havent heard this since 8th grade 1985-86 i tried to search for this on you tube about 3 years ago i even tried lime wire and could not find this shit who ever uploaded this really no some real classic hip hop one love yaddaaaaaaaaawhoa
I dislike ALL rap and related garbage BUT this one jumped off the radio BACK THEN and has stayed with me all these years. I bought the 12" vinyl and would sell it to an interested person. I just need a digital copy first. As an electrical engineer I noticed right away that the speaker was actually a good technician, who had adopted the 'rap' genre to make a living. I have transcribed (as best I can) the lyrics and still find them entertaining.
a few years back i talked to a local radio jock that scratched on the air.(i was airbrushing a shirt for dude) he was younger and he said he knew this jam..he went to his closet and pulled out a silky windbreaker with the cover of this album custom embroidered in tokyo.i bugged out for a long time. the baddest jacket ever. this was and still is the shit ..
One of my all-time favs. Never had the 12" but it was on a "Crucial Hip Hop" Vol. ? album mixed with Rock the Bells and into Roxanne Roxanne, in 86 or 87. Heavy!
I still got my original 12 inch vinyl of this. As a kid I would just sit and stare at the album cover for hours. Mixmaster Gee was an early inspiration for me. After hearing this joint I remember trying to find all sorts of records that had that Godzilla roar on it! It doesn't get any better than this for that time period.
@daillmeskin i already had the gozilla sound. i had to find the "holly toledos batman" i had a hard time..i remember using a square plastic record cut out of a cereal box for one of the samples.
A classic, I remember listening to this so many times, and copied this style when I used to perform hip hop on stage. This song got my blood boiling and angry as hell, ready to take the stage like a lion. hahahahah, great souvenirs. Excellent godzilla sample and great lyrics.
I bought the single 12" .Sounded & played like someone buried it in dirt & bolts then package it up for me to buy.Damn I was mad.Still have it though. This is the best sound I've heard since the radio.Damn cheapazz no wax pressing record company.Yeah YouTube
Whhhoooooaaaa!! Maaaan its been a thousand years since I heard this song! Damn son!!! The long version too! I remember rewinding my tape til it popped listening to that Godzilla Sample!!!

This was the truth! Marine Corps, mid eighties, hardcore bodybuilding, man of steel, and this was the hype song. LL's Bad was the workout cut too. Strong as a bull. Going hard. OOORAH!
I heard this ONCE (and taped on a long dead 8-track) this song on my old "local urban" station in 1986. Still remembered it to this day, how could you not: P-U-LATOR! Never been able to track the 12" itself down. CLASSIC!!!
I've been on the D.J. competition scene since the early 90's and been street battling dudes since the middle 80's, they used to call me DJ Melody, but for you young cats, take it from us old school dj's, people didn't used to take mixin' and scratchin serious, they thought we were jokes, movin their hands goin "wicky wicky". This was the first song to truly express that WE DON'T FUCKIN PLAY WHEN IT COMES TO OUR TECHNICS 1200's! So to all dj's out there, keep rockin those turntables. 419 4 eva
goffslidell- Dude i remember this cut when i was in high school and jr high. Man we used to blast this on the blocks like we owned it. and block parties house parties. This was the breaking yrs was all about (FUN)...
@the40king What battles did you enter? NMS? DMC? I used to battle myself. I must've spent thousands of hours hunched up over my turntables practicing juggles and scratches, and I never made a penny out of it, because I was a straight up battler, and wasn't interested in playing in clubs.
One of the most difficult and rare Gemstones to find in Music history. Thank you SO much for having this in your collection and Blessing 80'sFans and New-Hip-Hoppers to the classic of where MANY NEW songs get their sound. I am now 35 and I haven't heard this song, since it came out that year, thank you so much.
What we wear back then?: Fila, Adidas(All Day I Dream About sex, lol)Puma, Lottos, Gucci(Fake), LV(Fake), Nike(ofcourse),Lee, Levis, Sasoon, Jordache, Tretorns, Swatch-WatchWITHPlasticCyrstalProtector, GuessU.S.A. Generra, Adiadora, Eleese, Palmentos(Fake Guess for FemalesAndVenenzia), Bally's,Gazelle, Polo, JAMS, SummerShorts, OceanPacific,Kangaroos,Beneton,Reebok and K-Swiss, Gerbauld.....
Lets see...I was super-young, broke, light-weight dusty, but So was everyone else too; and everybody seemed to get along and it was super easy to get the coldest-girl in the world with no money, no car, In those early 80's; I LOVE the 80's, I still have my Atari 2600, LOL(But true)
Thanx for posting a cut, that sounds just as fresh as the first time I heard it! This song along would destroy all this fake stuff that they call rap nowadays! Peace to you and all true hip hop fans! This brings back my MC days!
Hell yeah brutha!!! heard this in Hartford Ct also,, also QTQ FM, 91.7 WHUS, 88.1 WESU, 89.3 WRTC, if you remember those days, I need not say any more radio stations YOU ALREADY KNOW!!
Hell yah, 88.1 was the shit!! I would stay up all night to record the latest jams and fill up my tapes. That is real Hip Hop...Franklin Ave on a saturday eve with my crew....
Hey you're a legend for posting this. I haven't heard this since I was 15! (I'm now 36) My cousin used to walk down our street with this blasting from a boom box on his shoulder. Remember when it was still ok to walk down the street with music blasting from your shoulder? :P
Everybody the RIGHT Mind, rock the Ghetto-Blaster on the shoulder, killin' your eardrums, had about 6 or 8 Dsize batteries inside and My Crew used to carry CardBoard with us on it, We was called the "Floor Rockers", We were breakdancers and I even broke an arm breakin', So Yes, it's was the Thang to have the Music blasting from your shoulder, no doubt.----Malave'
This is the ABSOLUTELY HARDEST rap song to date.
NOT ONE CUSS WORD.....
NOT ONE MENTION OF A GUN....
Yet when I hear this I'm not afraid of anything or anybody!

Hey you're a legend for posting this. I haven't heard this since I was 15! (I'm now 36) My cousin used to walk down our street with this blasting from a boom box on his shoulder. Remember when it was still ok to walk down the street with music blasting from your shoulder? :P
melodramie 3 years ago
Everybody the RIGHT Mind, rock the Ghetto-Blaster on the shoulder, killin' your eardrums, had about 6 or 8 Dsize batteries inside and My Crew used to carry CardBoard with us on it, We was called the "Floor Rockers", We were breakdancers and I even broke an arm breakin', So Yes, it's was the Thang to have the Music blasting from your shoulder, no doubt.----Malave'
