There's an episode, I think in the 4th season, where Keller is giving him a hard time in therapy about sexual urges and when he asks him if he ever wanted to have sex with another priest he got very uncomfortable.. Understandably of course, but I think we were meant to read into that..

Also, the man that plays him is gay in real life. He chose B.D. Wong as a stage name because it doesn't give away his sex and the character he was playing at the time was androgynous..
