In the end of the day its still a Volkswagon and you're trying to make it equivelant to a Ford Hot Rod/Rat Rod.

Doesn't matter what kind of car you customize. It just matters that you do have a car, you completed your project, and that you have fun. You, on the other hand, say there are regulations to being a hot rod, but a hot rod is pretty much just a modified car, just like back when customizing cars was making your car lighter. That was still considered a hot rod. No different from the Beetle.

Wheels must not protrude beyond wheelarches MOT failure and a defect!

Wheels must have arches / mudguards, even little cycle style ones like those used on some westfields etc.

Try MOTing it without arches and u will find out anyway!

I have been given defect forms for my wheels just sticking out a little!
