I have this song on my special edition of The Bends... however its a different version of this song, I guess I have the live version and I cant find it on youtube !
nearly a decade ago I heard this song on a mixed cd a girlfriend gave me. which also intoduced me to Portis Head'sGlory Box, and Massive Attack's Teardrop. But I lost the cd before I googled the lyrics to this song, only remembering the word "Molasses". I had this song partly stuck in my head for nearly ten years and finally realized its style was similar to Radiohead, YT'd Radiohead - Molasis, and finally hearing it again is to relive why I fell in love with trip hop & acid jazz
I like this song. There aren't many words, but it has meaning. Molasses is the by product of cane sugar. Its about how we make agreements and disscussions with people like hitler and then the result is the environmental state of the world right now. Thom loves talking about our environment and stuff. and bascially its about how our world is becoming bitter (molasses) and messy.
Thank you inferneko - I hadn't heard this completely before, and well, it's no surprise to me that it rocks like hell like all the rest of Radiohead's music. Thanks again.
LOL That would be a little ankward, but whatever they do turns good.
Well, what I heard is that they're going to take a LONG recess from making music toguether for some years, and who knows If they will be back with other album or stop making music as a band.
The only thing I know also is that Thom is going to be feautured in the freaking New Moon Soundtrack, wth?
well they were from that era so ppl cant help notice a little bit of that but Nirvana went into the more metal punk territory mind u they still kept some of it quiet but this as Radiohead is concerned Jazz/Country because its so groovy and acoustically inclined thats what i think
well to me in my experience it is mind when u think of country u think of those cheesy country cowboys and crap but accually that not what country is all about for example look at Led Zeppelin and Rebel Meets Rebel and the Almond Brother thats cool country so thats what i attribute when listening to this
Good music is nice to listen to, but ultimately, much of Radiohead's fan base comes from people who listen to the music solely for its complicated brilliance.
Wow what awful advice and the way you contradict yourself is amusing to me. "They should work on making more good music because all their songs now are too brilliant and meaningful" - Pathetic
They are not unnoticed, they are just singles (that always fail to compete in popularity with the albums). Completely unrelated thing-buy The Adventure Club Sessions CD before it is too late-you can still get a good copy for a relatively small price. For finding out what the heck it is, use the Enthernet.
At first it sounds like a Nirvana song, but then the drums kick in and you know its very different.

Maybe, I dunno man, I still don't think Radiohead is anything close to Country.
They're more like... Alternative, but that doesn't really define them well enough either. They sort of have their own genre going on... Haha.

radiohead should focus more on makin good music instead of complicated deep meaning songs all the time (which are brilliant, just too frequent)
