Who is really playing that banjo...It sure isn't that guy. No way is that banjoist playing an open back banjo at the "Y" and getting the Mastertone sound and his hands don't even match what he's "playing."
The Brothers Four are always terrific to hear. I wish I had been around when they were so popular. They are still performing, so maybe i can see them someday. Thanks for posting this pduck7!!
This is from a 1963 musical that capitalized on the "Hootennanny" folk music craze at the time [as well as the TV series], produced by legendary "B-movie" auteur "Jungle Sam" Katzman. For actors, you got Peter Breck, Ruta Lee, Joby Baker and Pamela Austin. For the music, you got George Hamitlon IV, Johnny Cash, The Brothers Four, Sheb Wooley, Chris Crosby [Bob's son], and a few others. The plot? An urbanite TV director discovers "folk music", and decides to build a TV show around it...
