What you're basically doing here, is talking about the Civil rights movement and mentioned Martin Luther, BUT, you're really talking about the caucasian Martin Luther of centuries ago who started protestantism in reaction to the corruption in the Catholic Church.
But seeing as that Martin Luther is not relevant to the subject of the Civil Rights movement, it's very strange to bring an un-related figure in to the event, thus talking about Martin Luther KING Jr. of the actual Civil Rights movement, fits in to the relevancy of the said topic.
