  • Lose some weight off your fat yanky asses! Your shit bridges can't handle the tonnage!

  • Lmao i'm american but i agree, America is fat.

  • This is why we cant have a political party take full control over a states legislature for along time! the leberals have had control of the state house of representatives and senate since the 60's and yet they blame the republicans for the bridge collapse!? It happened under the DFLs watch so its more thier fault than the republicans. I hate both Democrates and Republicans but I'm starting to hate democrats more cuse they tax the hell out of us and spend it on stupid shit like the MetCouncil

  • my mom works at the U and she said a bunch of people had started taking different routes avoiding the bridge before it collapsed because it was so freaking crossing while the were doing construction and you could tell it wouldnt hold up with all the traffic

  • They are supposed to have it built back by this time next year. I have to take the detour too. it's sad. It's not because we spend too much money in iraq either. thats just ignorance at its best.

  • iraqs worth it! whats not is having taxpayers pay for people who live of wellfare cuz they just too lazy to work. I heard on WCCO news that our state is WAY to generious to people on welfare thats why abunch of low income people from declining cities like detriot and south chicago are coming here by the bus loads we got to stop it! iraq had nothing to do with the bridge going down. The liberals had held the state repesenative and senate majority for 30 years so this happened on thier watch.

  • That's true. Minnesota is known for it's welfare system. I am military and I actually know what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's money we need to spend but welfare is a completely different argument. People abuse it way to much

  • yeah welfare fraud is more common than most people think. There is a bus from detriot or chicago packed with people that comes to the twin cities every few days because they heard that the morons in our state government are giving away welfare for the taking.... Its costing us hard working americans millions! Yet every electon the fooled voters keep the politicans that piss away our tax money in office... damn i hate politics.... i hate all politicians

  • Its chicago. And yeah its sucks because we have the highest rate of immigrants, and people from all over!! And Its harder for a minnesotan to get welfare than people from other places!! People should live here for atleast 1 year b4 they can get welfare. I know a girl from chicago she lived here for 6 mo. She gets her electric and rent paid for! Living scot free on mn welfare!!

  • I Totally agree Mortskcab! In fact, there were some that were killed underneath that bridge, sleeping in shopping carts & cardboard boxes. I fought in Iraq and for any "True American" here to say the war's not worth it, then by God, let's see how they react when some evil-doer terrorist decides to strike them! That's the reason for the war on terror, so they can't strike here again! Amazing how no act's of aggression have come to American soil, since 9/11!

  • Rest in peace, Pat "Homer" Holmes. We will always have your family in our prayers.

  • icewaltz die for fucking sakes.i would want you to be one of those people. one of those 5 people that died. feel what its like to die bitch.

  • I didn't see it happen but I remember when it happened

  • So sad that had to happen expecially in my home town

  • i know i live like a mile from there i went over that bridge every day to go to work

  • some of these comments are really just ignorant and horrible, this one guy said its because we are spending too much on the Iraq war..? what???

  • Less money on pork barrel projects and more on infrastructure plox.

  • You couldn't be a bigger prick

  • incredible video. how did you get so close to the wreckage? did you have a pass or clearance? The view from the waterfront there is one that few people get to see now (due to the police barricades and fencing around the wreck).

  • icewaltz222 those whole 5 people had loving families. They all were killed for no reason at all. how can you be so inconsiderate about it? how would you feel if one that you loved died and we all said ooh it was just his watever another death in this world, *lets compare it to africa* would you like that?

  • icewaltz222 those whole 5 people had loving families. • i live in minneapolis or as i like to call it pineapolis

no i dont really call it pineapolis, just a joke

  • I figured that these comments couldn't start getting less stupid until they hit rock bottom, and there went I.

  • It's Gorg Bush' fault. Also president Lincoln getting killed was also George Bush'es fault too. Hez so bad that even stuff from befor he waz born is hiz fault.

  • i pity the fucking fools who have to turn this into a political thing! at least 5 people are dead and all you can talk about is bush sucks? you FUCKING MORONS! I could have died on that bridge if I hadn't been a few minutes late that night! And all you morons can think about is how it is bush's fault! Jesus Christ!

  • ooh a whole 5 people!!! wow! compare that to the deaths every day in any single country in africa..

  • It's still five people. Five families destroyed. To say something comparing it to a genocide and AIDS epidemic is ignorant. Each life is...a LIFE!!!

  • they arent destroyed. life goes on.

  • Same could be said in Africa and any other country. One of the problem here is that so many of us forget about our own and focus on "other countries". Let's feel for some of our own first. And they are destroyed...life as they knew it is destroyed....the life they knew does NOT go on and that's tough to deal with.

  • u r so heartless man, u kno wat its like liven without a family member, i havent experienced it, but many people have

  • lets kill ur family member in a bridge accident, then watll u say

  • That's bad, I would have been on that bridge. But, so many other things had to happen that we weren't.

  • Bush IS a NATIONAL TRAGEDY. Bush cares NOTHING for the common people. Bush IS a CRIMINAL. Bush's inaction on social issues tells us that he secretly welcomes social problems. This do nothing social strategy of his is a way to keep people preoccupied and disconcerted. It is divide and conquere. If the people were socialy united they would be strong and have much self disceplined with no need for a bloated beureaucratic Republic. Socialism is TRUE Democracy.

  • Remember when Carl Rove was getting heat. Fox was telling America that the subways in London were more important than the Carl Rove issue. This does seem to be a war on the American Mind.

  • Remember the five year anniversary of the war? Many probably do not. The reason being is the Corporate Media conspired to disinform the public that day despite the overwhelming major news worthy antiwar protest all across the country and world. The media instead chose to magnify the story about that missing Boy Scout in order to preoccupy the publics interest.

  • Correcction: Four year anniversary not Five years(seems like Ten)

  • Did any of you guys see the huge dust cloud? It was...so weird

  • IMPEACH WHITE HOUSE NOW

  • Why was it weird? A bridge is made of steel and concrete...that would be the dust...and probably the rust.

  • True, the 2005 inspection found some structural problems. Repairs were done, and subsequent inspections in 2006 and 2007 found the bridge to be safe. Micro fractures and weakness in the joints can be very difficult to detect. It is fair to be concerned about other bridges of this type and/or age, but I feel that if any of the inspectors or city officials knew the bridge was unsafe, they would have closed it immediately.

  • SO SOMEONE FUCKING SAID. JUST LIKE KATRINA. They must be working for the Army Corp of Engineers.

  • easy explanation to this.... bush is a retard, well and ppl are ignorant and dont pay attention to this stuff

  • I live 7 minutes away from the bridge on the saint paul side and it was so horrible, it was a great day to begin with but then around 6:10 you could hear a big rumbling sound and everyone that was with me at a park at the time thought it was just weird thunder.. but then it was silent for the rest of the night despite the sreams and sirens, everything just went in slowmotion

my brother was actually helping firemen get people on the backboards...

it looked exactly like a scene from a movie

  • man how could this happen? freaky shit...

  • How can it happen? Easy - people not paying attention to what needs to be done, instead putting it off. Reports are coming out now saying the bridge was rated "SD" - Seriously Deficient in 2005 and nothing was done. SCARY!!!

  • No it was rated deficient but safe not seriuosly deficient. But still all those missing people and people who where injured and the one who have passed on. It's all the citys fault.

  • Yes, its city fault! Because they let re-open with

the repair on this bridge! >:( It's not good!

    I am not blame govt!

  • i just find it really difficult to believe that a bridge could collapse without, a storm or earth quake,. this bridge must have been in a really, really bad shape.

  • Just for accuracy's sake... I believe SD would mean Structurally Deficient rather than Seriously Deficient. If I'm wrong I'm wrong.

  • Yeah, you're right...I blame my being very tired :) But it was "SD", so Structuraly would be it...it still wasn't scheduled to be completely fixed until '09 if I remember correctly.

  • Thousands of bridges in this country are in similar condition. The authorities are still saying "our bridges are safe," & they would have said that had they been asked the question five minutes before this one collapsed. I live in Mpls - this bridge looked no different than any other from a layman's view. It's time we bring the billions being spent in the mideast region back home & fix our aging and dangerous infrastructure. Contact your Congressional and House Representatives.

  • Cost cutting, you see it everywhere now...
