Wow, seeing this I remember seeing him for the first time on a TV show called "graine de star" it was a contest of wanabee artist singer/dancer/comédian...., one of the first modern talent show in france, it was about 15 years ago, he was there as a comic and was already outstanding.

As a French man I find it extremely ironic that the first French film to be this successul internationally is a silent movie when there are plenty of other good and perhaps even better films produced in France which do not get any recognition outside of France. I'm french and back in the days when he played in Un Gars, Une Fille (a french sitcom), I thought to myself :"hey, he looks a bit like Connery". But NEVER in a billion years I would have guess he would made it this far. I'm proud of him but... I'm still stunned by his sudden popularity outside France (probably because he goofs around a lot and some of the stuff he played in before were dumb or not very ambitious...
