Wow, I remember seeing this when it was first broadcast! Hehee xD Both this show and Philip Schofield in the broom cupboard were magical parts of my childhood that will stay in my heart forever. Even after all these years, that theme tune is still amazing...
Fabulous Films are progressing in the aim of getting Belle & Sebastian, Silas, Sparkatus (Sun Beneath The Sea) an official English language DVD release. I own a fan Belle & Sebastian English language DVD set. Search Google for where you can get it. The author used the French and Japanese DVD releases with Nickelodeon recorded VHS tapes to create it.
This show did air on TV here in Australia on Cartoon Network's offshoot network "Boomerang" in Dec 2009-Mar 2010 and Dec 2010-Mar 2011. It was on the 2010-11 run that I saw E12 on 16/12/2010 and brought the DVD on Ebay 2 hours later. And I also own the Australian R4 Ulysses 31 DVD set too. And I also miss the presence of any bonus features on that DVD set. Did you know that the voice of Tao in MCOG is the same voice who does Telemachus in Ulysses 31 and voices Sebastian in Belle & Sebastian?
Oh lord, the hottest men in existence (IMHO anyway) singing one of the greatest openings ever...my life is complete. It's a shame he's a bit muffled XD
ha ha, poor guy recorded this way back before youtube was even thought of, little did he know it'd be enjoyed again & again!! As a kid I LOVED him in the broom cupboard, he was game for a laugh & a joy to come home from school to watch!
Yes...bought it for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day last year...some may say sad, I say ingenious given it was her favourite of all her childhood cartoons. And to be fair the boxset is spectacular, the art work inside is exceptional, excellent bonus features on all six discs, the map, postcards and the booklet detailing all the episodes and characters...now if only they'd did it to that quality for the Ulysses boxset...
I actually remember watching this very broadcast of this. Absolutely classic CBBC! Why oh why don't they make children's TV like they use to?!? Excellent find JonLovejoy!

I spent some time today with my brother watching old cartoons and programs from our child hood, this is what he said, they really dont make them like they used to! I feel sorry for kids nowadays.

This is Schofield's audition tape for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Andrew Lloyd Webber was a big fan of Cities of Gold and when he saw this, he just knew Phil was perfect for the part.

Fabulous Films said they wanted fans to email them with ideas for extras. I emailed them saying add this clip and they did.

I provided it to them, and am thanked on the DVD. Also wrote the episode summaries in the booklet.
