  • When the second series finally come out I bet the presenters would never make a ass of themselves and sing along to the theme. I miss the old days =(

  • Has anyone got Ed the Duck's rendition of the Neighbours theme?

  • oh gosh.

  • I remember seeing this sometime in the early 90s, It is so funny that that is one of the things I still remember when I watched this cartoon, LOL!

  • Fabulous Films are progressing in the aim of getting Belle & Sebastian, Silas, Sparkatus (Sun Beneath The Sea) an official English language DVD release. I own a fan Belle & Sebastian English language DVD set. Search Google for where you can get it. The author used the French and Japanese DVD releases with Nickelodeon recorded VHS tapes to create it.

  • This show did air on TV here in Australia on Cartoon Network's offshoot network "Boomerang" in Dec 2009-Mar 2010 and Dec 2010-Mar 2011. It was on the 2010-11 run that I saw E12 on 16/12/2010 and brought the DVD on Ebay 2 hours later. And I also own the Australian R4 Ulysses 31 DVD set too. And I also miss the presence of any bonus features on that DVD set. Did you know that the voice of Tao in MCOG is the same voice who does Telemachus in Ulysses 31 and voices Sebastian in Belle & Sebastian?

  • Oh lord, the hottest men in existence (IMHO anyway) singing one of the greatest openings ever...my life is complete. It's a shame he's a bit muffled XD

  • Oh god, I actually remember him doing this !

  • @swirlywirly78 Me too. I feel so old now -_-

  • ha ha, poor guy recorded this way back before youtube was even thought of, little did he know it'd be enjoyed again & again!! As a kid I LOVED him in the broom cupboard, he was game for a laugh & a joy to come home from school to watch!

  • I'll say one thing for Scofield, he was certain game attempting to sing this theme tune.

  • a true classic indeed....needs to be aired again!

  • we can say thank you to two french composer Shuki Levy and Haim Saban

  • This is Schofield's audition tape for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Andrew Lloyd Webber was a big fan of Cities of Gold and when he saw this, he just knew Phil was perfect for the part.

  • @davide453 haha i saw him in JATATD!! he was amazing!!!

  • When philip goes Ahh ahh it sounds like a Bansee impression-Classic!!

  • 80's fun, love pippy schofield

  • Yes, MCOG was released on DVD last year I believe it was, after many many years of waiting. Check out the wikipedia page and check amazon.

  • Even the Schof' could tell what an awesome theme song that was.

  • Phillip Schofield needs to match :)

  • I think I remember that somewhere in the hazy memories. lol

  • lol yeah i rember him doing this, and the broomcupboard, and gordon the gopher, jings that takes me back

  • OMG! Look how thin and geeky he looked there lol

I remember Gordon the Gopher too ;)

  • Lol ! - I know ! - Pip really needs to put some weight on.

  • How the hell do you find this stuff!

  • Actually, this is a special feature on the MCoG DVD boxset that I have from Fabulous Films.

  • Yes...bought it for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day last year...some may say sad, I say ingenious given it was her favourite of all her childhood cartoons. And to be fair the boxset is spectacular, the art work inside is exceptional, excellent bonus features on all six discs, the map, postcards and the booklet detailing all the episodes and characters...now if only they'd did it to that quality for the Ulysses boxset...

  • Fabulous Films said they wanted fans to email them with ideas for extras. I emailed them saying add this clip and they did.

  • I provided it to them, and am thanked on the DVD. Also wrote the episode summaries in the booklet.

  • I have the boxset and this is not on there, also, Tim Skutt is said to be on the DVD as well, but I can't find it.

  • I actually remember watching this very broadcast of this. Absolutely classic CBBC! Why oh why don't they make children's TV like they use to?!? Excellent find JonLovejoy!

  • Hahaha! Brilliant...

  • "Why oh why don't they make children's TV like they use to?"

I spent some time today with my brother watching old cartoons and programs from our child hood, this is what he said, they really dont make them like they used to! I feel sorry for kids nowadays.

  • Oh I loved Philip Schofield and the broom cupboard. It reminds me of my childhood so much.
