How doesn't it make sense? I run with the boys - always have. I've never been very "girly". I dont mind getting dirty - in fact I embrace it. Makeup to me is art as is hair or clothing. It's a way to express my creative side, but doesn't negate that I'm a tomboy. Makeup doesn't have to be seen as something as girly or feminine. Society has made people believe that but it's not a concept that is part of my own personal truth.
