  • Whether you are Christian or Muslim, whether you think of Jesus as God or prophet, you can't expect that all people will believe in what you believe, so it's a good thing that we have something in common, and it is that we all love, admire, and respect him. Let's just enjoy the greatness of Fairuz, shall we?

    --Muslim from Saudi Arabia

  • As an Arab Muslim, I speak for the vast majority of us when I say that we will protect our Arab Christians with our own lives. They are part of our history, culture and home. No Arab world without Arab Christians.

  • @lilhaya Asalam Alaikum! Thank you. So many people, Muslims and Christians, dont understand how similar we all are. We all (Christians, Jews, Muslims) trace our lineage and religion back to the Prophet Abraham (PBUH). Ignorance prevents love and causes people to hate each other. May Allah bless us all and guide us to him! May he guide us in the path of tolerance and knowledge (Insh'Allah). From an Arab Christian. :)

  • @MegaKrishan123 God Bless you! and hope to see more arab christians and arab jews like you.I agree with all of the things you say.And yes! christians, muslims, and jews from the middle east trace their lineage and our old three religions back to prophet abraham.

  • @lilhaya well said!

  • @lilhaya Salam Brotrher, i would like to mention that not many people understand that Christianity came and started from middle east! and i am sorry to say that few are like you,..many radicalism and fanatics wish if all christians are wiped out from the face of earth! Peace!

  • All God's love to us all... Christain, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist and all others...

  • GOD BLESS ALL ARAB CHRISTIANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Arabchick21 God bless the whole world,NOT fucking exceptions.!

  • @TOLTECAAZTECA I understand your thoughts but not the words. Please don't curse. :)

  • @7propitious This is the fucking world wide web.And i can almost say where ever the hell i want. You got that?

  • i'm irish and find this song so profoundly spiiritual and uplifting. fairouz is an incredible songstress

  • fairuz was born catholic - to a maronite mother and a syriac catholic father.

  • they have a beautiful language, beautiful writing and a history to be proud of.

  • i love you fairouz my sister, god bless your heart Jesus Christ protect you from all evil amen.

  • To all my muslim brother,...christianity is a philosophy that you cannot understand except by Love! love is they key,..not the rules that tides us

  • @firasalam1 Dear friend, I find your view herein intolerant! Perhaps you might want to rephrase your statement for the sake of love.

  • @chahineaustralia I am sorry if i am misunderstood,..i said Muslim brothers,..i have no interest of proving any point, Islam is a beautiful religion of God and i mean no offence by my previous message what i meant is that without love, even me as a christian,..i cannot understand Christianity, if you still see that i should remove my comment, i will do so,...Peace!

  • @gles1408 so2al lak ya ostath... ma howa al islam alathy tatakalam feeh? ??? wa lematha tad3ona na7no ela al islam? to get married to 4 wives and still mess around w/10other wives? to have so many kids and throw them out on the streets? to kill in the the name of the lord to get 77 virgins or whatever the # maybe!don't you think your islam is all about girls?? what kind of religion is that? God is Great, and God is fair. If you're allowed to get married to 4 wives, can your wife get 4 husbands?

  • @gles1408 لا اشهد ولاشي .. الهي هو يسوع ومخلصي هو يسوع

  • Fairus! We are so proud to share your nationality & your faith. In The Lord Christ we trust and believe.. Long Live Lebanon.

  • Im Muslim , But This Song is Amazing . Her Voice is coming from heaven ! I Love Her <3

  • @schaymae i hope all muslims can realise the love and peace of christianity.

  • @lasallecatholic we release it my dear :) and thoese who doesn't, they are not muslims purly ! we and christians and brother, the same God and Jesus is one of our prophet, how could we not feel love and peace in this religion :)

  • Fairuz is Orthodox Christian. This song's name is WA HABIBI (Oh my Love)

  • @marlenebraun208 The hymn is actually El Yom Ollika. Wa Habibi is a different hymn. Thanks.

  • @marlenebraun208

Wa Habibi is another hymn which was included on the album of Eastern Orthodox hymn that Fairouz recorded. They say Fairouz is Syriac Orthodox, but Im not sure of this information as she can be Greek Orthodox as well.

Im not sure of the info about it being a Catholic hymn, this entire album has an overall Greek Orthodox musical feel to it.

  • There are two times when Heaven cried. The first time when Jesus was Crucified, the second time when Fairouz sang about it.

  • this is so incredibly beautiful!

  • @pab71267

The only thing that will save the human population of this earth is the very thing that all wars have been started over. Organized Religion. I'm not a fear mongering Atheist or anything like that. Do your research and wake up to the fact that no other single human invention has caused more pain and suffering than intolerance.

I believe in a higher power, but it has nothing to do with building churches or telling you what to do with your life. It's part of all of us. Like it or not.

  • @mussy9 Hi- Your comment says that organized religion will save the human population of the earth even though you also say it's what all wars have been started over (which isn't true). Is this what you mean? I'm no religious freak either- I am spiritual though and I love religious music and art of all faiths.I think Fairouz does a stunning job here.

  • @mussy9 The ONLY thing that will SAVE human population is to LIVE according to the words of Christ, who came into this world to SHOW us the WAY to TRUTH, how to LIVE and how we are to LOVE our neighbors as our self. It is the non-believers (lack of faith) who make such a statement as yourself. The ONLY human invention that has caused Wars and sufferring are HUMANS themselves, because they listen to no one but themselves in lives of greed, envy, lust. Be glad God gave you a FREE will, what you

  • @2groomers Be glad that God gave you a Free Will to make your own decisions, because He loves you, and it's the "CHOICES" we make with that Will that has caused us our own pain, suffering, hard-heartedness and disbelief. As a father must correct his child, so does the Father of us all, have to correct and punish His children when they do bad things. What happens to the world is the cause of how people live in it. Period!

  • @mima1234561

If your roots belong to the middle east ,regardless of your religion you will find difficulties to accommodate with the West or East . even Arab Jews have difficulties in Israel they can't integrate with European's Jews .

My final line : I hope personally that all humanity unite and fight hatred across the world , my comments just reading the reality of humans . I hate to talk about race and religions , because I believe that we all brothers on this blue ball.

  • @azzamco1

thing is, i feel sorry for those who fight about it. i wish the clock stops and all wars stop. we can stay christian (talking about myself), muslims, jewish, bhudist and so on. and enjoy earth. no division to humanities just different opinions about our coming to here.. its time piece takes over, because no other way is possible for this blue ball to stay alive. (scientists are giving the earth 10 years, keep that in your mind, this makes my wish, even though IMPOSSIBLE, very needed).

  • @mima1234561Our culture in this region is rich , and you have to expect that "race mixing is predicted".by the way (no pure race existed) it is a scientific fact. religion can't change your race .look to the Iranian they change the Islam just to be different from Arabs. also what happening between Arabs and Turkey in Ottoman empire. I believe that we are not native Arab, even Egyptians have some sensitivity to Arabs. We all know that fact but most of us ignore it . and we accept this culture.

  • @mima1234561 Do you know that even these days we never married our daughters to bedwins or Saudi's or anyone different from our culture though theyare Muslims(this is not my opinion but this is what happens).because in our deep we don't find any commons.that is a fact,we critic anybody who married his daughter to any one in Arabian Gulf.By the way I didn't find any difference between Yemenis (Muslims,Jewish,Christians) they look the same.also in Iraq or Syria. There is no pure race in the world.

  • @mima1234561

Why always you say "you" ,never said "we" , from your mouth you said Arab Muslims came and converted most Christians in our region ,so the converted people still your people even they are Muslims or Jewish. If your brother change his religion do you think he became different from you. please be proud of your self .Our region ruled by many and conquered by many but we still stick in our land , I know if I choose to be Buddhist , my brother never be Chinese , but Middle Easterns.

  • @azzamco1 you still cant get the point , the ones who the muslim arabs reached like in Syria , Jordan , Egypt ,iraq ,and some parts in Lebanon ,they are the ones who became muslims ,and therefore the arabs integrated with them and married from them because they were also muslims by then, and as time passed by the ybecame fully muslim arabs while the christians in lebanon and some other parts who remained christians did not integrate with the arab muslims and their blood did not mix with theirs

  • @azzamco1you should know that the Christians in Iraq,Syria,Egypt and Lebanon, most of them are not Arabs although they speak the language.the chirstians married christians and the arab muslims married muslims, never integrated .these Christians are the ones who survived the arabic islamic invasion.and never became arabs .there are a few original Christian arabs and they are the ones who lived in the Arabian peninsula and then they escaped up to the north away from muslims.but they are the minority

  • @mima1234561

Hey , you make me laughing, all of us in this region have the same race , but have different religion , I agree with you may be we are not a native Arab , because Arabs lives in " Arabian semi-Island " but across time and after Islam reach us we become Arabians . but because you are Christian it doesn't mean that you are different from your brother who become Muslim. or from your brother who still Jewish and refuse to be Christian or Muslim !

  • @azzamco1 its good that i made you laugh , when muslims arabs reached Lebanon , they forced some to become muslims , especially the ones who lived near the shore ,but couldn't reach the high mountains ,and that's why a lot of Lebanese remained Christians and didn't integrated with the muslim arabs . its so funny how you all arabs will never accept any other beliefs ,you lived in a dictatorship regimes, that's made you think that every thing is ARABIC . read and seek for the truth.

  • please can somebody translate this for me? i asked for this previously but the owner removed my comment... :S

  • @khoshgelak07 There is no way i could have removed your comment intentionally. If this happened accidentally, I apologize.

  • @khoshgelak07 Hi. Here is a brief translation. I hope someone else can translate the full hymn. With best regards:

"Today, He hung from a piece of wood, the one who hung the world above water / A crown of thorns adorned the head of the king of angels / We kneel before your Passion, O Christ (repeated 3 times) / Show us your glorious resurrection"

  • so holy made me cry, love you fairouz

  • I'm jewish but I love to hear fairouz when she sing religious songs!! It's feels so real ..

Very good fairouz come to sing in Jerusalem !!l

  • @rafaelazulay she can't go to Jerusalem... but she has a song about jerusalem called "ya qodsu" search for it amazing song.

  • @lebkha thanl you !!!i saw the song is amazing she is probably ripped between her love and passion and to her art

  • @rafaelazulay welcome dear

  • if they wanted to chop it off they would have grow up guys

there is only a third percent christian population just come back from there

    they worship this woman there

  • @reece9886 Hi there. You're probably speaking figuratively when you say people 'worship' Fairouz, but I think it's still worth stating that no God-fearing Lebanese worships Fairouz. We adore her, yes. Worship? Never. Only the Lord is worthy of worship.

  • @ronyb obviously its figuratively

who would worship a human , no offence christians , hindus an some devious sects in shiaism

they adore fairouz not worship her mapsoot

  • @ronyb

He was for sure talking in a figurative way, don't mind it.

Anyway, what is the difference between adore and worship?

    Thanks

  • الله

It is better to be a good Muslim than a bad Christian, it is better to be a good Christian than a bad Muslim; Give thanks and praise for our diversity, it allows us to worship the One in a variety of ways - if this pleases G-d who are we to argue? Beautiful and heart felt music - true worship of G-d, Allah, Hashem.

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw thanx

  • fairouz is a Lebanese christian not an arab .people are confused between language and race .yes some Lebanese speak a form of slang arabic and some speak french but they are not arabs or french ........ the Americans speak English and yet they are Americans not English .the Canadians speak English and other parts in Chanda speak french and they are not french nor English the same apply to Switzerland

  • @mima1234561 most Christian Arab are Arab from the Arabian tribes who ruled these area such as lakhmids, Taghlib, Tayy and Ghassanids.....the other are either Sliby (sons of cursders) and minority of the people of that land!

  • @mewoone you are so wrong SOME Christians have arabic roots ,and the most are NOT arabs .all north Africa ,Syria ,Lebanon and Iraq , were not Arabs ,my grand father still speak Aramaic which is our original language ,the Arabs later came from southern Arabia and invaded the north and forced them to become muslims ,but couldn't invade all lebanon because of the high mountains ,beside the mountain of Lebanon ( which is mainly Cristian ) were independent .and protected by the catholic church

  • @mima1234561 mmmmmm, I meant Christian Arab not Christian who live in Arabian countries.... I am not talking about north African history (which probably qobet). Iraqi Christine mixed between Arab and Assyrian and more. by the way the Arab didn't came from the south ^_^ but from Madaina which consider to be north west... The Christine Arab such as Ghassainds came from the south. You may be correct that you are the majority but they Arab christian who were the elite and ruled.

  • @mima1234561 I forget to add the reason that i said the Marjory were Arab . I read an article i will try to find it and send to you ..but maybe they are wrong ^_^

  • @mima1234561 you cant say lebanese are not arab. Arabic is the main language and other languages are there because of occupation and because of bad education and loss of identity. but ARABIC is the language for them, and so its not the same when people in america speak english, because they speak it for centuries.. while in Lebanon if you go back to the beginning of the 20th century you'd find almost of the people speaking arabic. and not SOME arab people speak arabic, the majority speaks it!

  • @saeedmeerkhan you said that" the Americans speak English for centuries and thats why they speak English" but even they spoke English for centuries that doesn't make them English, they are AMERICANS.

The same in Lebanon ,yes we speak in arabic for a long time but that doesn't make us arabs and who told you that we speak french because of the occupation, the french stayed in Lebanon for a very short time,we spoke french way before that ,started in the14th century with the Maronite catholic church

  • @mima1234561

    Did the maronites speak french?

  • @meusisto most of them do speak or understand french .and that has nothing to do with the french occupation which lasted only 17 years ,but it go s back and started in the 14th century with the friendship between the Maronite catholic church and the catholic France and as well with the Vatican and that's why a lot of the old generation used a lot of Latin in the traditional catholic service .also the Aramaic which was the original language in Lebanon .,till the invasion of the arab muslims

  • @saeedmeerkhan

    Yes thats 100% true

  • @mima1234561

Lebanese are arabs and if u dont like to be an arab go asslick american or whatever u like to do like the other people/countrys do.... // Fairuz<3 Christian <3 Hizbullah<3 Shia Muslims <3 love and respect Peace

  • @Atnox if you are an arab ,then its good for you ,but you arabs should respect others and give them the chance to express them selves FREELY ............ im 100 % LEBANESE and im not an arab .

  • @mima1234561 I am afraid your mistaken. The Lebanese people be it Christians or Muslims or Durze are Arab. Langauge has nothing to do with it. I hope your not trying to say that they are Phoenicians because with that logic Tunisians are also Phoenicians which is not true because surprise surprise, they are Arab. The Phoenician race has disolved into the Arab race along time before this keyboard was made and these words were written.

  • Comment removed

  • @martyr791 but in Lebanon it was a different case. When the Arab Muslims invaded Lebanon, they could not reach all of it, especially the high mountains, therefore most Lebanese remain Christian, and did not integrate with the Arabs. They even used to have their own Aramaic language, such as my grandfather and the old generation. Later on they started to learn Arabic in order to deal with neighbours and colleagues, to trade and work, just like the Armenians are now doing in Lebanon.

  • @martyr791 I think you are mistaken.I am the one who said that language has nothing to do with it.I was replying to someone who said that Lebanese are classed as Arabs just because we speak Arabic, as I mentioned in my previous comments, especially the Christians.Americans speak English and yet they are American, not English. When the Arab Muslims invaded North Africa, Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon forced most of these people to become Muslims and integrate with them, and so they became Arabs.

  • very true:)

  • @martyr791 very true:)

  • i love our( arab- christains ) as much as (arab-muslims )

they are not foreigners they are brothers

and we see them in the bad times !

  • Its awesome.. Here is my Good Friday video

  • rise for the king of kings

  • Good Friday

  • thats the move passon of the christ

  • @rumpwrestler You have no self respect, dignity, discipline or the will to know or learn. You simply have no hope! Waste the oxygen you breath in! As a Christian Commander I classify you 13 points before insects which, make a stupid dog have a higher IQ than you! It requires intelligence, generosity, discipline, the will to love, live, give & forgive to begin to understand Christianity. You have none! My advise to you !keep your dirty mouth tight shut if you have nothing good to say! low class!

  • My friend this is a Lebanese slogan: Learn from the past, live for today and hope for tomorrow. A nation without hope should better set itself alight with its people asleep. When your friend's house is on fire do you stand watching or do you fetch water? When our houses were on fire in Lebanon the whole world stood watching us burning!! But we have stood out and surprised all spectators!! We look at the full part of the glass and not the empty part & we rejoice!!

  • Even if one does not believe in the divinity of jesus his story shows the power of love and compassion. Christianity began and prospered under 300 years of persecution.

Everyone who lives by the two main teachings of Jesus is a great christian whatever religion he follows. Love and forgiveness if adopted by all the world will surely be a better place.

  • Fairouz e greco-catolica, biserica melkita fiind in comuniune cu Biserica Romei. Muzica e bizantina, dupa cum si ritul si traditiile.

  • GUYS .. JUST listen to the song ... Everyone has his own beliefs hence, each and everyone has to respect the other ... beside, if i am listening to this song , it doesn't make me a believer ... the bottom line is , SHE COULD SING

  • No matter what... She is a goddess..

  • This song transcends space and time :-)

  • @Cezayir16Ziad

It does trancend space and time, two things we know very little of.

  • Her singing is perfect for these songs, even if I do not understand Arabic. :(

  • ok lent is next week, so i'm back to the lenten songs. thanks for this, it helps me stay focused during lent.

  • What a captivating voice! I enjoy the gift that GOD has given her and I praise HIM for giving me ears to hear.

For both Christians & Muslims on this board, ask yourself this question: Is this back and forth bickering truly honoring who HE is? Doesnt GOD deserve better than this?

Do you truly believe that your mean spirited comments will 'sway' or 'convert' a reader from one religion to the other? Just appreciate the voice that GOD has given Fairouz.

    Isnt GOD great! :-)

  • I couldn't agree more, my friend. Very well said.

  • @MisterRaandyWatson

    so true, god bless u

  • @MisterRaandyWatson Thank for that comment.

God is love. God loves all. If you have unconditional faith in God, then you must have unconditional love for all of his children. God loves Christians, Muslims, Jews, Gays, Lesbians, Transgendered, Arabs, Latinos, Aboriginals, Scandinavians...the list can go on forever.

Unconditional love means love without any condition or exception. If people cannot apply that in real life, then their faith is God is in vain.

  • @MisterRaandyWatson god gave her this voice? lol if god(dess) truly existed, he/she wouldn't have given you fingers to type.

  • @PinkTitanium

I don't quite understand what you're trying to express but...oh well...perhaps my brain will evolve in the next thousand years :-)

What I do get is that you don't believe as I do. Very well...your choice. Possibly we can agree that she sings beautifully.

  • True, the Pharisees are the real enemy of all!

  • @MisterRaandyWatson What a great and correct response. With such a beautiful and moving peace of music, it would be, and is, a disgrace to post anything dishonorable. Our creator is great and, unlike in my society, must be respected above all and always. Christ is the human personification of that greatness, and as a westerner unhappy with the direction my society has taken, I'm both moved and awed by this middle eastern demonstration of respect and love for the author of the Universe.
  • @MisterRaandyWatson well soken brother it does not matter what religion you are true holiness is in right action and the ability to to see god in all things. if you become to rigid in the letter of the law you miss the heart of the law which is mercy compassion and love

  • @MisterRaandyWatson

YES!! its a voice like hers that make u appreciate the gift of sound.

  • Lovely singing by the great singer Fairouz.

Fairouz is a national treasure of Lebanon... she is Lebanese, and well liked and of a highly regarded in many Arab countries & beyond. Why question her religious beliefs, or have we? I have no idea is she is Christian as it is true that of the Arab countries, Lebanon has the highest percentage of Christians but also there are people of the Islamic faith, Drouids, and many others-- mainly Muslims and Christians.

To me God and Allah are the same!

  • This is very touching. But wouldn't she get her head chopped off for singing this in her country?

  • Not really. Despite all, people have the freedom of religious belief in Lebanon. Also, Christians comprise a large proportion of the Lebanese population.

  • @ronyb

They must be very quiet. All I see on Fox News is people screaming their heads off and burning flags.

  • To every Christian, there is a clear case of the debate about Jesus You say Jesus is God, but I think that the word (God) is great

    How crucified?!

  • My friend if you say God is great, then you need to believe that He is able to manifest in flesh too. When we (believers) say God is great we know there is nothing He's unable to achive.

While you say the opposite here, u claim He is great but refuse to believe that He came in the flesh and lived among us.

I think you need to redefine the word "great" in your dictionary!

    God bless you

  • @Grejegando Of course Great must be redifined or better yet, not used at all. Really what is great? We use words in a very limited sense of contexte. Personally have a hard time using the word God, in all humility I am probably not worhty of claiming the word. I use The Eternal. So to go so far as saying Great? The Eternal one is much more than Great. I am glad you used capslock on the H in he, because we don't know if it's he? Jesus was the one to bring closure to the mystery. Peace to all

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Say: He is Allah, the Monoreal!

    Allah (the Monoreal) is Eternal.

The Monoreal does not take or give birth.

And there is none comparable to the Monoreal.

I am Lebanese Muslim, as a Muslim I would tell you please take your comment elsewhere and show our Christian brothers and sisters the same respect you want!

  • @ronyb : Very true. I'm a Lebanese Muslim, I can't go through not even a day without listening to her beautiful voice. I love "Ya Oum Allah". She gives a whole new meaning to life.

@bigpoopie69 : Lebanon has 18 Different Religious Sects, we all live in peace, its what the media spins around, thats what makes people think that Lebanon is full of hatred and dispute. To shock you more, we even have Lebanese-Jews in Lebanon. Even after declaration of the state of Israel, their numbers grew even more

  • @bigpoopie69 Ofcourse not my dear friend. Fairuz is praying in the Lebanon and not in Saudi. Lebanon is the Land of History, Peace, Love, Civilisation. The land which gave the first very alphabet to the world. Revise the history books.
