  • Did you know that WBAL's switch from NBC to CBS occured during the same month that Cal Ripken, Jr. began his Hall-Of-Fame career in Baltimore (August 1981)?

  • Do you have the video of when they switched back?

  • Any WMAR clips when they were with CBS, please? Thanks.

  • Great! I loved seeing Weezie and Boss Hogg. I wish CBS had this lineup now. Beats anything on now for sure.

  • yeah but this switch only lasted 13 years, and channel 2 being the only station in baltimore the have had all three networks at various times

  • wow, WEEZY Jefferson? lol

  • I remember those commercials like it was yesterday

  • For the record, WMAR Channel 2 switched from NBC to ABC, OK?

  • Didn't they switch back to NBC?

  • They switched back in '95...it was a three-way switch. WBAL went from CBS to NBC, WJZ Channel 13 went from ABC to CBS, and WMAR Channel 2 went from NBC to CBS. WMAR has carried all Big Three networks in its history.

  • CBS did the opposite by being carried by all the Big Three networks in Baltimore.

  • @faysal21adigun - And not only that, but it also gave WMAR the distinction of being one of the few stations in the country to have been affiliated w/all of the Big 3 networks @ one time or another.
