Your videos are superb. Spaztik shows everything on a grand scale....with him war is escalated to an art form with countless units massacred, but with you it's like i can see the individual struggle of each unit in the grand war.

I don't know how you do it maybe it's the camera angles, maybe it's the zoom level you use but your videos seem much more up close and personal...visceral.

My god, it's been too long. After seeing the mediocrity and simplification they did in Supreme Commander 2, I damn near cried when I just watched this video for like the 20th time. This video just captures the true essence of FA so damn well. Why did you have to ruin the sequel Square Enix? Why? WHYYYYYYYYYY!?!?!?!?!?!? As far as I know, he recorded the replays at -10 game speed, which greatly increases the performance.

Later, the scenes were accelerated to be equal with the real game speed.

4th Dimension Mod

Some guy set about trying to fix timing issues with everything, all ballistics are faster walking speeds (some) decreased, and i'm sure you noticed, the smallest units are bigger then trees, so everything has more then a white fuz explosion. Also enables forest fires, broken trees stay on the field, its honestly amazing. Two mods, the original 4D mod and 4D explosions are included in the one thing. Just search it, don't use the vault though.. its a little messed! have fun!

i believe that supcom has a 4D mod of its own, so no need for FA unless you want the extra awesome :P but the two 4d mods are in ONE download (nice eh?) and you can find them on supreme commander file front or just search google. make sure to get sorien AI too! (makes AIs smarter and allows them to use sorien-enabled mods :D:D:D)

Haha, no problem! The smallest units ARE bigger then trees in the NATURAL (no mods) game or maybe they're bushes? (most anyway some are big trees :P).

However the mod does increase the size of the trees a little bit i think, so the smallest units are only taller then the average tree/large bush.

actually after thinking about it a little more, the units are definitely smaller then trees after the mod. Just comparing trees to the ACU they go almost half way up so they must be. lol

as for before i have no idea i can't tell the difference between bushy trees and bushy bushes. not to mention the cacti like how big are they? or how small lol?

Know what irks me about this game though? The useless AA on the UEF battleship, the uselessness of aircraft carriers. The pathetic AA on a Czar. The fact that only two races have Engy Stations. The amazing amounts of resource cost vs resource gain. Like in t1 with 6 engies assisting a factory i had -79 mass and only +14....

But i still dont know how to manage my eco worth shit so oh well XD.

Slow down the game to -10, minimize pan speed for your keyboard, and then move around with the arrows. Speed the resulting video back up when editing it, and voila: smooth video with maxed out graphics.

And for what its worth, I make my own computers.

If you want to make a movie, record it at -10 game speed, then speed it up again in your editing program, (windows movie maker, whatever) and you'll end up with a video with picture-perfect performance. :D

Theres problems with the AI, theres too many waypoints and checklists for it, especially engineers building expansions, and they're still there even if you kill the engineers or the AI player.

Wonderful. The scenes are taken from ACTUAL GAMES by ACTUAL PLAYERS. No staged fights. Supreme Commander truely is like this (only the camerawork and scene selection is, of course, for the video). Rake took these from actual replays.

Supcom is Epic. It requirest micromanagement and macromanagement skills. It requires tactical and strategical decisions. It requires to be flexible, aggressive, and expanding at all times. It requires you to understand dozens, if not hundreds, of unit types, and use them like a general would.

I love Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. It's by far the best RTS out there.

Starcraft dummies ignore this game because they don't have the intelligence to play a high drama, high casuality, and dark RTS game like Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander Forged Alliance. This is the BEST GAME PERIOD. As for C&C...well it was good but EA destroyed the franchise years ago with stupid campy sayings, too small maps and crappy gameplay period. Real RTS warriors play this stuff, not some sissy Starcraft.

All the units in Supreme Commander except the ACU and the assistant ACUs are automated. So there's actually not a lot of dark drama and death in SC compared to other games. That's why it has an E10+ rating instead of a T rating. But yeah, the game owns.
