you do not need to equip mosuke to do grand halo blade.
when you defeat yohmei(which is our grandpa),he will give you shikigami and the antiquity.when you get the antiquity,they will say amidamaru level up.now you can use grand halo blade without equipping mosuke:)

If you have Mosuke equipped it will only do grand halo blade. If you do not
