Me and my dad just started a project car, an 88 Fox Mustang with bored 351 Windsor, 4 speed tranny, and probably 4.10 gears.. gonna have to remember that.

He has done a LOT of weight reduction, and obviously with open headers your car is in no way going to be street legal nor will it pass emissions as well as cops will pull you over. These cars on open headers are very loud... No exhaust can emulate an open headers sound. Your best best is SLP or Borla Stinger catbacks with an O/R X pipe.

Yea, well this is naturally aspirated. No blower. You would also never hear the intake sound through a T/B over the sound of open headers.

I am not sure about what parts he has in the engine but it's most likely cammed or at least has some sort of new heads.

The tranny is same one it came with from the dealer. I know its not a t5 but not sure what tranny these things come with. A g-force t5 is in the near future.

Tremec 3650 is stock dude. To be honest, until you put a blower on the car or other engine mods, i would even worry about changing the trans out. Change it when ya break it, and dont get a gforce get a tko500 or 600. The guts a gforce t5 are real strong but the case itself is still relatively weak.

It sounds like it. What is causing it? You said something about the fast shifting, in shifting fast your on the gas so hard and letting of so quick and then hitting it again? is that causing extra fuel to flow thru the exhaust and pretty much making it backfire?

Well u see these cars dont come with throttle cables. They have whats called "fly-by-wire". In a nutshell its a transmiter from gas pedal to a reciever at the throttlebody. The system has its flaws. I wonder why they got rid of the throttle cables? Maybe cause they only last 40years and they're "so like 5 minutes ago"..lol

I'm not sure why they quit using cables? I think they got rid of cables because it was something that worked. lol With a transmiter and reciever thats two more things that coulde break at some point and would have to be replaced. So more money for them. lol Thats just what I think anyway.
