Quality, they were using emulators alot in those days, the live sound was very close to the studio stuff. Dave brought the sound alive!

I am 37 now, and been listening to DM since 86 or so... and it is true, why music is so shitty since 2000? Even indie bands are boring... except a few noisy exceptions such as A Place to Bury Strangers or The Horrors. And even them are not as great as many of the bands in the 80's. And let's not get started with all that RNB nonsense... But as I said, the worst are all those harmless "indie" bands that sound as geeky teenagers lacking vitamines.
